It's yust funny that it was only 25 km away from the lander of apollo 11(note that surveyor 5 is not the same like the visited surveyor 3).
So there you go travelling 300 000 km and when your there you stop 25 km of something interesting. (I realise that they couldn't walk the distance but it should not have been impossible to photograph it or land closer to it

I am sure they had a reason. There must have been something that Surveyor 5 imagery showed.

I gues the terrain was interesting and wel known it's always a plus if you know that the landing side are soft plaines (pictures of probe) with little bolders, but it's a pitty they missed the lander altough I gues it's acceptable that the first mission mist by a couple of km aftherall they where landing on the moon the first time someone tried to reach India from the west he ended up in the bahamas so all considering they did very wel. But it is a pitty that visting the probe was never in the original flight plan .

don't forget that surveyor 5 showed land in which they could land on.

That's one of the major reasons that spot was chosen. They knew the terrain best to plot a landing, and it was the easiest to land on.

have u no shame?!!! To say astronauts never been on the moon!

Go look at ISS photos, International Svace Station...well guess what there are no visible stars there too.

Hmm, when i got 1 pic analysis wrong, ALL THE MORLOCKs have started flocking in.

U dumbo, i never said stars should be visible to the camera. I said the Astronots never saw them, thats a mind blowing humor ie. if u poses a mind :p .

Well thanks for adding fuel to fire.

Now prove,
how does a Lander located at 30 degrees give a view this beautiful.

That picture was not taken from a lander, it was taken by an astronaut during an EVA
The accompanying NASA page said:
View of boulder at Station 2 (Amundsen Crater) photographed during second Apollo 17 extrvehicular activity (EVA-2). The earth can be seen directly above the boulder in the lunar sky
See here, and perhaps you should read the captions before making claims, Anomalous.
