sandy: answer these claims against Christianity

Romans 3:10
as it is written," THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;

You ingnore the differance between being rightious in Spirit and being rightious in the Flesh.

We cannot be good but we can agree with what is good. Paul explains the difference in Romans 7/8.

This is a false prophecy, Adstar! Jesus did not come back quickly!

2 Peter 3
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

How quickly people forget.

Oh He is clear all right. It's just that limited minds cannot comprehend the answer and like a monkey who cannot figure out a mechanical contraption throws it away to go and play with a stick.

When people cannot comprehend they declare it illogical and nonsense.

That's an easy out, Adstar. But even God must be bound by logic. He cannot assert that, at the same time, by "day" he means "a thousand years" AND by "a thousand years" he means "a day", unless the two concepts are supposed to be equivalent. In which case, why waste words. Call it a "day" and be done with it. The problem is that humans have two distinct words: "day" and "year", which God obviously gets confused.

God should try to be clearer, don't you think? He doesn't express himself very well to his Creation.

No God does not need to be bound by logic or the time scales of this universe. Have fun with your scientific stick.

Jude 1
10 But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.

Jesus clearly taught in the Bible, and Paul clearly understood and interpreted Jesus’ words to mean, that the return of Christ would be imminent, even within the lifetime of those who were then present and alive, not two thousand plus years from then. They all died without seeing the return of Christ so these prophecies are false.

Best Wishes, Adstar!

I disagree. No one knows when Jesus will return for His children. The Bible specifically says He will come like a thief in the night. (By surprise.)

The Bible is scaring the cr@p out of some people now. Every time a new prophecy comes to pass, they realize He is coming back soon. :bravo:

AHHHH!!! I'M SO SCARED!!!!! :runaway: :runaway:

I'm a christian anyways, so who cares? ;)

Come on, play nice, you two. I swear I'm turning this forum around if everyone doesn't start getting along right now.

"Oy! Now we's goin' ter a vacation in Brighton, and there isn't to be any trouble until we gets there! Is that understood?"

Ah, fathers. :D

Why is doing anything like a thief in the night admirable?

Which prophecies in the bible have been realised? I don't need you to tell me 'none' cause I already know that.

The thief in the night thing means that it creeps up on you. Like a boss in your cubicle just as the asian porn page is loading.

Thank you Sandy!

Your point is valid, in that, no one was supposed to know the exact day or hour. I agree with you on this! But that does not invalidate what I said in any way.

Both Jesus and Paul taught that, regardless of knowing the exact day or hour, the return of Christ would occur within the lifetimes of those that heard them speak and that is why it is false prophecy.

What does the phrase, "right at the door", mean to you, Sandy? Two thousand years and counting?

The following are the most vague examples I can think of. They just get clearer from here on.

Revelation 3:11
' I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

Revelation 22:7
"And behold, I am coming quickly Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."

Revelation 22:12
"Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.

Revelation 22:20
He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly" Amen Come, Lord Jesus.

What, in your view, did Paul really teach on this topic?

Take Care!

When people cannot comprehend they declare it illogical and nonsense.
When Christians can't explain what god is doing, they declare that it's god's logic and humans can't understand it.

I will admit that until you mentioned that in another thread, I hadn't heard that apology before. I usually hear:
-"The lord works in mysterious ways"
-"It's god's will"
-"No one can know god's will"

I will have to give you an A for apologetic creativity there though.
