At If Americans Knew those really interested in objectivity can read Off The Charts, which is a detailed examination of NYT and general US news reporting concerning Gaza and Israel/Palestine issues generally. You can a watch an interesting video describing the inception and methodology of the study. The evidence of imbalance in reporting is incontrovertible.

How do we overcome deliberately-skewed media? With sincere moral and intellectual curiosity. For USAmericans, or for anyone unaccustomed to seeing Gaza and the Israeli destruction of Palestine without thick major-media filters, If Americans Knew is an excellent introduction to realism on the subject.

Why- have I misapplied (or merely misspelled) the term somewhere? In what sense of the word are you challenging my understanding of it?
neutral- not aligned with or supporting any side or position in a controversy

I'm not sure what you're asking me, and I wonder if you're asking about objectivity:
-intentness on objects external to the mind

If you can be more specific, I'll respond accordingly, p-brane.

What is the basis of your apparent belief that Arab and immigrant Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, secularists, etc. do not have common interests in Israel/Palestine?

Please be specific about what ideas or information you find dangerous or lacking objectivity on the If Americans Knew website.

There's nothing in my posts that indicates I hold such beliefs. Please learn how to read. What I am doing is calling you on your recommendation of a specific site to other members as a beacon of truth. I'm not talking about anything else but that specific site. What I'm saying is that site is not a beacon of truth, but a source of the propaganda typical of these sorts of bullshit sites. So, how long have you been a jew-hater? How did it start. Maybe with your dad?

why do i get the feeling your one of those people who think if a source is kissing israel's ass it must be propaganda?

p-brane: "I'm not talking about anything else but that specific site."

You've addressed no specific content from If Americans Knew.

"that site is not a beacon of truth"

You are repeating such accusations without addressing any specific point.

"a source of the propaganda typical of these sorts of bullshit sites."

What specific sites are you conflating If Americans Knew with?

I have no idea why you're getting this feeling. As a jew and a supporter of israel, why on earth would I complain about anyone kissing israel's ass?

It seems like a typo, where pj meant to say:

"Why do I get the feeling that you're one of those people who thinks if a source isn't kissing Israel's ass then it must be propaganda?"

too bad i didnt had a camera when i was in the west bank. we had this house that was our outpost. it looked unfinished from the outside, it didnt even had paint and it was 3 stories high. you could see it looked unfinished from the inside as well. but if you entered the inside of the first floor, you could see furniture that worth i think the entire contents of my house and then some. they had this beautiful bath, lovely chairs and a large carpet in the living room. it was pretty big too, and who ever built it, invested a lot of money in it. if you never entered the house and only looked from the outside, you could never have known this. even if you entered inside that house, you still couldnt known this because you had to enter the inside of the first floor.

so when "if American only knew", Reuters and all those paid propagandists are going to show what really is going on, then will talk. until then you can shove that site where the sun doesnt shine.

So what were you doing in that house in the West Bank? And does it still exist or has it been demolished?

and lets thank our men in uniforms:

An IDF force thwarted an attempt by three Palestinian gunmen to infiltrate Israel near the Kerem Shalom border crossing in southern Gaza Thursday noon.

A Desert Patrol force indentified a cell of three Palestinians approaching the border fence and opened fire at them.

One of the men was killed and a second one was injured, while the third managed to escape and is currently being pursued by the soldiers.

Hamas confirmed that one of its operatives was killed in a clash with the IDF near the Kerem Shalom crossing, but did not report whether the clash occurred during an infiltration attempt.

Infiltration? Isn't that what the IDF does EVERY SINGLE DAY?

As in OCCUPATION???????????????????

Hypocrites.

do you prefer the IDF to just fire indiscriminately at the rocket launchers firing grad missiles towered israel? perhaps that is a good suggestion.

Ahhhh, I am so glad this thread exists. It's so therapeutic for SAM! :)

have you ever heard of the neighbor procedure?

the procedure says that instead of barging in with armed forces, if a palestinian terrorists takes a refuge inside a house with civilians, or in his own home, you can use a close relative or a neighbor to convince him to surrender himself - because he would have preferred to do so without shooting his own family.

now, betselem and all of SAM look alike said this is an immoral procedure because it uses palestinian as human shields.

so you know what the IDF does now? they give him a X time to leave the house before they demolish it. thank you human right activists.

Do you think Palestinians should adopt the neighbor procedure?

i think if the palestinians want to adopt something from us they should start with our desire for peace and not for war.

as if thats ever gonna happen.

they beileve they can defeat us by arming themselves with more rockets, proclaiming they are always the victims and the "resistance" is the only refuge they have.
