check out the hypocricy

More than a quarter of the [UN Human Rights] commission's resolutions condemning a state's human rights violations passed over the last 30 years have been directed at Israel. There has never been a single resolution on China, Syria or Saudi Arabia. The current session ended by defeating a resolution to criticize anything about the situation in Zimbabwe, and by eliminating the 10-year-old position of rapporteur on human rights in Sudan. This was despite a report of the U.N. rapporteur on torture informing commission members of the Sudanese practice of "cross-amputation"--amputation of right hand and left foot for armed robbery, and various cases of women being stoned to death for alleged adultery.
...
The Cuban representative demanded action against "the most critical case of . . . massive and flagrant violations of human rights [and] of the systemic institutionalization of racism--that of the United States."

the last sentence especially shows how bizare and ironic it is to hear Saudi Arabia, Iran and 'palestine' (lol) condemning torture and human rights abuses

i read a wonderful piece about the 4th Geneva Convention's outdated-ness and how it creates more harm for man-kind than right in today's day and age
will try to find and post it here

...and blah blah blah. Moral relativism. Other countries are just as bad or worse, so what we are doing is okay. The problem with moral relativism is -- it says that "what is right for you is not right for me."

:m: Peace.

moral relativism is ok only up to a certain point. (e.g., Sudanese "cross amputation" is not ok)

the point is not to expose the hypocricy of the Arab accusers and the human-rightsnicks... they're way out there in the open... people see them, yet they don't seem to care

i'm talking about the UN so-called human rights comission
how come do they single one state for 2/10 violations (which by the way have context) but don't discuss or bring forward even a SINGLE resolution against states who engage in 8/10 violations (with practically no context)?

it is the definition of "double standard" and a classic case of racism
some even call it anti-Semitism (gosh, there goes that word again that lost all its meaning and is going to get ridiculed)

the UN institution is absurd.
everybody pretends it works yet the only reason it's still around because countries like Saudi Arabia support it because it's a very powerful tool thru which they can reach their Satanic objectives

Bloody Ugly Filthy palestn PROPAGANDA GRUESOME Indeed

In order to try and 'shock" us, they pull out pictures of accidental deaths, or of terrorists' or of those died while being Human Shields for their "brothers" Terrorists mass murderers.
Further more, they even call the attacks on Israelis that failed as "massacres' by... the victim.
While most Israeli victims are pure innocent and non combatants.

Some of the Victims Of Arab Muslim Palestinian Heinous Crimes

"human rights" groups? who are they? unrelated NGOs with their own subjective views and nobody to be responsible for

Oth, can please try to read the English language correctly before responding? Hmmm…? Look at the sentence please: Human rights groups point out that the Convention allows. THE CONVENTION, in which Israel has signed on to. Israel is bound by her own actions, not only international law, but even her own domestic law to stop illegal torture. They [the human rights groups] aren’t so subjective when they talk about Arabic torture now are they othhy boy? You are the one who is subjective beyond belief. Your inability to understand concepts like “subjectivism” is clearly evident in your posts, and imo I suggest you stop using it.

they care for the right of the terrorist with the vital life-saving info more than they care about the people about to die

I don’t think that is what they are trying to say, what they are saying is that since Israel has signed on to the convention, in full knowledge of it’s contents should be bound by them. Don’t blame the UN on this one, Israel under her own volition signed this document.

they are confusing Saddam and Pol Pot who tortured for fun and with impunity with a democratic country whose citizens are under constant threat of death

Actually no they haven’t, they didn’t say “Israel sign it now”. No Israel pretending to live by the rule of law, signed the convention is thus bound by it’s laws.

and they have the chutzpah to call themselves Human Rights groups? they are the biggest violators and enablers of human wrongs!

Yes…that made too much sense…

1) because of the harsh treatment they give to Israel

They don’t give Israel harsh treatment, this is the typical Zionist intellectual syndrome all over again “OH LOOK, WE ARE THE VICTIMS” Wha,wha, wha. Typical, most the world is not buying anymore, so get a new argument. Israel deserves the criticism she gets, one principle reason is because she is a “democratic” state that uses torture. That is antithetical to any democratic principle. Israel is living a farce.

2) because they do not condemn harshly enough real perpetrators
maybe they'll demand Osama or Saddam apologize for their actions? how about a compensation package for the victims? didn't think so

Again what are you trying to say? Can we avoid the emotional nonsensical outbursts please?

There is no end to the argument. It is cyclical. Both sides are wrong and both are right. There is no good or evil. You have two sides that both want a piece of land. That spells conflict boys and girls.

Maybe countries should mind their own business and let it naturally come to a resolution. Sure, that might mean one side gets annihilated. But is a quick annihilation better than a slow, drawn out one?

otheadp,

has your religion got a long history of being bullied by everyone, has your religion only got 2 country's to scatter too, is the world against your religion, has your religions population gone down 5% in the past 5 years, are your girls MINGERS... if so become a jew!!, please report to your local synagoge

'palestinians' showing gratitude to UNWRA: "Give Us Bigger Houses Or Die!"

The United Nations decided over the weekend to suspend its construction project in the Jenin refugee camp after Palestinian gunmen threatened crews rebuilding houses destroyed during Operation Defensive Shield in 2002.

Five men armed with M-16 rifles raided the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) offices in the camp on Friday to protest that the new houses were too small. The gunmen threatened to harm the UN staff if their demands for larger houses were not met.

Residents of the Jenin camp are complaining that their new houses, replacing those destroyed in Israeli incursions, are not big enough, said Sami Mshasha, a spokesman for UNRWA in Jerusalem.

This was the third attack of its kind on UN offices and crew in the Jenin camp in the past six months. Residents had complained that the construction work was too slow and that senior Palestinian Authority officials had stolen parts of the donations from the international community to the camp.

the Palestinian Authority, the corrupt and fascistic governing body [ir]responsible for the 'palestinians' , headed by Arafat, receive the biggest amount of money per-capita in international donations in the history of international donations from sympathetic clueless countries

aside from sending his wife (who likes the posh life style of Paris) millions of dollars, Arafat has also funneled money to his own bank accounts in Switzerland (an estimated $1B).
and "his 'people'"? "where's my money and apartment bitch! 1900 square feet is not enough!"
give me give me give me

if you want something, work for it (get your "government" do to it for you)
if you want democracy, start practicing it
if you want bigger houses (or any houses for that matter) ask mr Arafat to build them.

what? what's that you say? he hasn't built a single housing-unit with that money?
no... the dear leader isn't like that

if anyone wants to find some statistics on PA's spending to "disprove" my accusations, be my guests

i don't think many people who actually work for the PA know what and how much is being spent

this f*cker Arafat is making life miserable for Israelis and 'palestinians'
maybe he should get his long sought wish of becoming a shahid? i mean, if he wants it so badly and the IDF gives it to him, won't that make IDF soldiers the most popular people in Yesha?

Why would a Russian SS-N-25 "Harpoonski" anti-shipping missile be attacking Arafat? I mean give me a break, at least they could try to be accurate!

Land without nation to nation without land

Land without nation to nation without land.
This is the situation in Palestine since 1948

The concept of nations is a primitive ideal of territory. If we were smart we'd all be sharing the earth as it should be. Not having it seperated into imaginary boundries that cause racism, prejudice and war.

The concept of nation is a very recent one in history. It has been a very popular concept though, but why do people insist on being part of this artificial concept so much? Is it a modern replacement for a lost smaller social unit?
