History of the Holocaust

Where does SAM come up with the idea that the Native Americans [...]

As far as I can tell, S.A.M.'s ideas about Native Americans (and many other aspects of America besides) are mostly extrapolations/projections of her ideas about other issues (European colonialism, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the Holocaust, Apartheid, etc.). Note that she rarely addresses the subject on its own terms, rather than as a rhetorical bludgeon when discussing one of her pet issues (like in this thread).

Predictably, this makes for something of a muddle.

How would you address the subject on its own terms? By dissociating it from all other forms of segregation, ethnic cleansing and colonialism?

A laudible notation.

Are you certain you're not offended by the desire of - well, half - the student body for apostacy?

Clearly your education leaves a lot to be desired.

You'd start by learning the relevant history and facts on their own, in a holistic way. Rather than this piece-meal search for pretexts to equate it to some other situation.

The main thing is that the comparative history portion of your project needs to come after you learn the basic history of the subject. To get a real grip on the subject, you need to put your agenda aside, at least for a while.

Already familiar with it. My girlfriend is a psychologist, and Asian. Don't see the relevance here, though.

If the idea is for people to "learn from history" perhaps they could teach the holocaust as a raison d'etre for Palestinian nakba and dispossession.

I bet more students would be interested in current history if it was shown how historical events can be misused to continue oppression.

Although Palestinians had nothing to do with the holocaust they suffered too much on the hands of the Jews . Also it is well known fact that Hitler and his Nazis were Christinians .

your not qualified to answer these questions. mussolini was an atheist (like his dad) and hitler was and atheist but he dabbled in the occult. i dont think that really matters though.

Italy and Germany were and are Christian nations . Saying otherwise is contrary to reality .

Mussolini wasn't a Nazi and Hitler wasn't atheist as far as anyone knows - "dabbling in the occult" is not a common atheistic pastime, neither is Catholic or Pagan mysticism an atheistic underpinning of one's ideology.

The Holocaust was a theistic phenomenon, on all sides. All the central players had Gods.

Oh? How so? My interpretation of your remarks seems pretty accurate, at least. You are free to correct my false impressions, of course. I would suggest doing it forthrightly so as to avoid more 'confusion'.

As for my apparent 'lack of education'...

Oopsie!

so was the u.s and britain, amongst others.
So Christians were killing Christinians and now they are killing Muslims in both Iraq and Afghanistan : it seems there is no end to this craziness of Christians killings....... .
As far as the Jews are concerned they keep reminding everyone of the holocaust while they make the lives of the human Palestinians hell on earth.....how hypocritical and how sad..... .

So Christians were killing Christinians and now they are killing Muslims in both Iraq and Afghanistan :

And Muslims are killing Christians, Jews and each other. The holy wars never stop in the name of god. Fucking religions.

Wrong my little chap :
Nowadays wars are fought NOT for religions but for resources and military domination . Please follow the current events in the world .

i already told you, Hitler was not a Christian and neither was Mussolini. This is all common knowledge. You can trace musolinnin's roots back to his atheist father who he emulated. It is also well known that hitler killed more christians than anything else.

i dont say that religion motivated these people or lack of religion or anything they believed in. Hitler was into mysticism but who cares? your too preoccupied with religion.
