Congratulations America - you got the president you deserve

Looks like Florida police uncovered an assassination plot to kill Democratic Congressman Jared Moskowitz.

Best Youtube video of the week, maybe even the month. Hilarious...

Yep. But they were naïve, haughty babes caught unaware back then. This round there's simply no excuse for the entertainment industry, the mainstream media, the academic community, progressive-supporting businesses, and applicable administrative apparatuses failing to get their candidate elected. All that massive firepower, and endorsements from celebrities of multiple ilks, and not even the consolation of winning the popular vote this time.

Imagine what could happen if this relatively small shift in awareness grew into a major trend leading to the realization that they do in fact have the power to make a change, and they were to take it a step further beyond politics and actually thought for themselves in every aspect of their lives instead of letting the media, social media, advertisements, Hollywood, celebrities, pop culture, and peer pressures control everything they think, say, or do. Wishful thinking maybe? Hmmm... Let's find out.

That is hilarious, how oh-so wrong they all were. I can understand their optimism, though. It seemed that since 80+ million voters came out for Biden in 2020, everyone thought Trump and Maga were rejected for good. Of course, Dems all laughed and mocked Trump for thinking he could make another run at it, everyone thought he would bring down the Republican party for good. They all thought the 80+ million voters who came out in 2020 would come out again.

I have to admit this election season has been the most entertaining in my lifetime, even more entertaining than watching the cattle line up at the poles believing they’re making a difference. That shit never gets old.

They just elected a reality TV star, a Hollywood actor who told them exactly what to think, say and do about immigrants, liberals, Mexico, renewable energy, the border etc.

So no, it will be a while before anyone makes a serious change in the system that is controlling America now.

Glad you were entertained. It's too bad things are going to get so much worse, won't be so entertaining any more, quite the opposite. What's funny are the folks who voted for Trump who don't think their lives will be affected.

Welp what can I say? The world is what we make it. But hey, maybe the next election or the next, and if not then then maybe the next one. And if that still doesn’t work then maybe we can organize a protest rally holding witty little placards shouting hey hey ho ho’s. ROFLOL

Yeah me too. Roller coasters always have their ups and downs. Weeeeeee

Haven't been around here for a very long time. Not much need.

Browsing through the thread; losers.

You lost. Lost. Lost.

Thump your chests all you want. Makes you feel really good, right?

You're losers.

Feel the burn.

Go outside and sniff the air. There's a whole world out here that's telling you are not particularly significant in most schemes of things.

Or just stay inside.
I have no doubt a similar sentiment was expressed c.91 years ago.

Anyhoo, the sign of a healthy democracy is the ability and willingness of people who dislike something to voice their opinion.
I hope that this remains the case in the US under Trump,

Really? Does that include, say, childhood cancer? (Just asking for a friend)
Taking everything literally and out of context makes for a longer discussion but probably not for a better discussion.

One person didn't vote for Trump and one person says everyone gets what they deserve. Meaning voters get what they deserve. The person who didn't vote for Trump wonders why does he deserve this.

Why interject childhood cancer? That's a Bill tactic as well (usually involving slavery). It may not be intentional as some people do seem more prone to take things literally rather than broadly speaking however when the context is considered, it does seem like an unnecessary comment.

I don't think you really believe that he was implying that a child with cancer is getting what he deserves, do you?

Why should I have to guess what someone means with what they write? When someone says "without exception" that does tent to emphasize the absolute nature of what they write. Regardless, my post should serve simply as a request for him to add clarification, and more importantly a qualification, to what was said.

Furthermore, given the context, rather than childhood cancer I could have mentioned higher inflation, growing national debt, shorter life expectancy, bankruptcy due to poor health, not to mention bleeding out in a car park due to abortion rules, and other such things. Which of these do you think people might deserve, "without exception"?
Yes, going for childhood cancer was deliberate to highlight the absolute nature of the original comment, but without the clarification that it implicitly requests, it remains unclear just what should be considered "deserved" and "without exception".
Care to take a guess as to what he meant? Or just raise criticism for implicitly asking something that you yourself haven't actually answered?

The people who voted for Trump is what he is saying. They are the ones who deserve what they get for voting for Trump.

I answered that above. If you vote for Trump, you get Trump. Those things might happen or they might not. They didn't happen the first time around but they may this time (or not).
