Oil companies ain't US companies, they are multinational companies, and sell their products where they have contracts.
So, Texas oil goes to Uruguay and North sea oil goes here, etc, etc.....

Reports are coming in showing that at least 2.7 million Democratic provisional ballots were rejected. For example, around 4000 soldiers (all black) from Ft. Benning were rejected.
The Times and Post were cranking out stories all year about Republicans putting operatives into the election commission to do just that. Apparently, there are "Vigilante Self-Proclaimed Election Fraud" hunters, single people making the challenges and then the Republican controlled commission in the area purges the ballots.

It wouldn't make a difference. People know that in many cases, the President has little to do with the economy but if the economy is bad, the President has still got to go much like a coach in the NBA.

It also wouldn't help because when there were Civics classes they were so free from any confrontation and only about how the system should work that is was useless. It's not until college that there is any real discussion.
Also, the GOP in three states--Texas, Florida, Missouri--denied DOJ election monitors entry into facilities--people whose job is simply to ensure that election laws are adhered to. JD Vance acknowledged in an interview with CBS that he's ok with lying about immigrants eating cats and dogs, costing his own state tens of thousands of dollars (for increased security and police presence) and getting innumerable persons and communities threatened.
I understand, and generally support, not stooping to there level, but what do you do when your opponent openly acknowledges that they will lie and cheat, not adhere universally agreed upon rules, and even get people--their own fucking people, ostensibly--threatened and killed in pursuit of their aim?

Of course. I didn't even have a car, a job or a house, if you can believe that? What did I do? I had a bike and I towed my dogs and guitar around. I was an "artist". I was a big dummy. I was angry a lot, well, all the time actually.
I didn't have a girlfriend. To be honest, I didn't have any friends. Today I don't have a girlfriend or any human friends but I do have two dog friends and a guitar friend. I'm smart too, real smart. Broke but extremely smart. I'm too smart to make money and I live outside of the system but it's only because I chose too.

They did, quite often. But right wing media drowned them out, and no one checked.
Because there are places like Seattle and North Dakota where it is simply easier and cheaper to import oil (or more often refined fuel products) from Canada. They are just plain closer.
Keep in mind that if the republicans get that pipeline they want - it will increase imports, since it is used to carry oil from Canada to the refineries near the Gulf.
That's exactly it, we are no longer dealing with politicians and statesmen, Trump and his cronies are criminals and grifters who will rape the land, so to speak. The Biden administration would be fools to just hand over the keys to the country to them. They conned the American people.
