There would be civil war over what the subject matter would look like.
Oil companies ain't US companies, they are multinational companies, and sell their products where they have contracts.Biden/Harris didn’t talk this up enough, in my opinion. So why are we still interested in importing foreign oil, if we’ve reached energy independence?
It wouldn't make a difference. People know that in many cases, the President has little to do with the economy but if the economy is bad, the President has still got to go much like a coach in the NBA.It does seem that any two term presidencies will be critically dependent on global economic forces. Cycles of pocketbook stress will generally lead to incumbent loathing by a large segment of the electorate. Even if an incumbent, in fact, has skillfully ameliorated the harsh effects of global disruptions.
We really need to bring back Civics classes in US middle/high schools.
It also wouldn't help because when there were Civics classes they were so free from any confrontation and only about how the system should work that is was useless. It's not until college that there is any real discussion. Can't say you're wrong about that. And some teachers would be tempted (or pressured) to bend the topics a certain direction. Skip discussion and critical thinking skills and go right to indoctrination.
Also, the GOP in three states--Texas, Florida, Missouri--denied DOJ election monitors entry into facilities--people whose job is simply to ensure that election laws are adhered to. JD Vance acknowledged in an interview with CBS that he's ok with lying about immigrants eating cats and dogs, costing his own state tens of thousands of dollars (for increased security and police presence) and getting innumerable persons and communities threatened.Reports are coming in showing that at least 2.7 million Democratic provisional ballots were rejected. For example, around 4000 soldiers (all black) from Ft. Benning were rejected.
The Times and Post were cranking out stories all year about Republicans putting operatives into the election commission to do just that. Apparently, there are "Vigilante Self-Proclaimed Election Fraud" hunters, single people making the challenges and then the Republican controlled commission in the area purges the ballots.
I could have phoned in my pledge of allegiance and used the rest of the time more gainfully. This was in the late '60s.It also wouldn't help because when there were Civics classes they were so free from any confrontation and only about how the system should work that is was useless. It's not until college that there is any real discussion.

"The House of Representatives is composed of 435 members and the Senate has 100 members. There are 3 co-equal branches, the Executive, the Legislative and the Judiciary. That's all folks and thanks for coming to class."I could have phoned in my pledge of allegiance and used the rest of the time more gainfully. This was in the late '60s.
Of course. I didn't even have a car, a job or a house, if you can believe that? What did I do? I had a bike and I towed my dogs and guitar around. I was an "artist". I was a big dummy. I was angry a lot, well, all the time actually.
Or maybe, just maybe, you got a crap education. Or--just hear me out--you were, perhaps, a bit of a dullard? In high school, I mean, of course.
"And don't be commies, you little yard apes.""The House of Representatives is composed of 435 members and the Senate has 100 members. There are 3 co-equal branches, the Executive, the Legislative and the Judiciary. That's all folks and thanks for coming to class."
You might be less angry if you weren't an incel. Doesn't Truth Social have an. affiliated dating app or something?Of course. I didn't even have a car, a job or a house, if you can believe that? I didn't have a girlfriend. To be honest, I didn't have any friends. Today I don't have a girlfriend or any human friends but I do have two dog friends and a guitar friend. I'm smart too, real smart. Broke but extremely smart. I'm too smart to make money and I live outside of the system but it's only because I chose too.
They did, quite often. But right wing media drowned them out, and no one checked.Biden/Harris didn’t talk this up enough, in my opinion.
Because there are places like Seattle and North Dakota where it is simply easier and cheaper to import oil (or more often refined fuel products) from Canada. They are just plain closer. So why are we still interested in importing foreign oil, if we’ve reached energy independence?
That's exactly it, we are no longer dealing with politicians and statesmen, Trump and his cronies are criminals and grifters who will rape the land, so to speak. The Biden administration would be fools to just hand over the keys to the country to them. They conned the American people. Also, the GOP in three states--Texas, Florida, Missouri--denied DOJ election monitors entry into facilities--people whose job is simply to ensure that election laws are adhered to. I understand, and generally support, not stooping to there level, but what do you do when your opponent openly acknowledges that they will lie and cheat, not adhere universally agreed upon rules, and even get people--their own fucking people, ostensibly--threatened and killed in pursuit of their aim?
I looked at it but it gave me seizures. You might be less angry if you weren't an incel. Doesn't Truth Social have an. affiliated dating app or something?
Your commitment to remaining an incel and staying in the basement, vaping and playing video games and not getting a job, is noted.I looked at it but it gave me seizures.
Where do you even get this stuff? (Rhetorical question.) Never mind the potential global implications of this hypothetical US isolationism, there's that hypothetical aspect, with no basis in reality or history, to address first:In a way, a guy like Trump could be the answer to all of our wars. They haven't been productive for quite a while. No one wants them neither at home nor abroad and yet they are easy to get into and hard to get out of. Most people outside of the US complain about our military and our constant fighting...until they want our help. You can't have it both ways and we can't afford it the way it is now.
If Trump just says "no, I won't do it"...that might be a refreshing change. Otherwise we will be fighting China over Taiwan and Iran over Israel and Russia over Ukraine. If that doesn't eliminate human life from Earth then there will be another hotspot after that.
When it comes to President Obama’s drone wars, President Trump has:
You’re forgiven for not knowing the answer. It’s C. This administration has not only surpassed the previous one’s drone strike volume overseas, it has made the drone wars even more secretive, if that’s possible.A. Ended them B. Continued them C. Escalated them
President Donald Trump has revoked a policy set by his predecessor requiring US intelligence officials to publish the number of civilians killed in drone strikes outside of war zones.
The 2016 executive order was brought in by then-President Barack Obama, who was under pressure to be more transparent.
Since the 9/11 terror attack, drone strikes have been increasingly used against terror and military targets.
The Trump administration said the rule was "superfluous" and distracting.
