Would a loving Jesus or God wait this long before reappearing?

By that definition, all law makers are evil including your God.

I agree. Your God is evil.

i don't think god is just a law maker, but the law itself. in transgression you'll die, and in fulfillment, you'll live.

He's dead. I mean, even if he did awake from the death again, too many centuries have passed for him to be still alive. :p

You are preaching to the quire,

You're also a moron (choir).

2000 years is nothing in the grand skeam of things. All of these horrible things that you use as examples of why there is no God (or if there is one of why it is evil) are performed by man. Man has free will and God will not directly intervene, it just leaves it to us to police ourselves. Also, taken overall these horrible things that you speak of only happen to small percentage of our total population, a drop in the bucket really.

Also, the end of the world according to science isn't going to happen for a very, very long time (sun expanding to swallow earth). Whose to say they are not one in same. Not that we'll make it that far with the way things are going.

the biggest dope is people like you who are insensitive and have no conscience. you have more concern for defending your god and religion than actual compassion or concern for real people.

only someone horribly dishonest could believe that those who are suffering is only a 'drop in the bucket'. the entire world has more people suffering in it than not. one only has to watch the news or have an inkling of world affairs. even if it was a 'drop in the bucket' they are still people, not objects. people like you are a perfect example that survival is not about the fittest but about the most unworthy perhaps.

and it's spelled 'scheme'.

According to the bible, the return of God will be at a time nobody is expecting. The reason for this was given in a parable. If those who take care of the master's house know the date of the master's return, they would clean his house a few days before his return, to make it appear like they have kept his house in order all the time. But if the master returns at a time when they are not prepared, he will catch them as they have been all along.

A modern analogy is like a younf man's parents leaving on vacation, with their son left behind, home alone. If he knows his parents will return in one week, he may throw a party and then clean up the house, so his parents will never know. Then may even think he has been a good boy. But if they change their plans, and return out of the blue they will catch him as he is.

But if the master returns at a time when they are not prepared, he will catch them as they have been all along.
So effectively you're saying god is totally clueless as to what's going on until he returns.
So much for omniscience. And omnipresence.

More people suffering than not? Lets see you prove that scientifically. I believe that these acts are horrible and morally wrong. But then again so does anyone with any kind of moral character believe it or not.

If you base this on watching the nightly news you would only see the bad parts of humanity, simply because that is what people will watch. If the nightly news was focused on normal people living normal lives no one would watch.

Individual suffering is terrible but no one knows what will happen in future. If the suffering of a million people ends up waking people up to that horror so we do something about and stop it from ever happening again (i.e. Hitler) their lives were not wasted. The problem is that not everyone gets the message, and some flat out do not care (i.e. Darfur).

You say because God does not intercede it does not care. This is simply not true. When you heard about the atrocities occurring in Darfur did you grab your gun and go over there to help? HELL NO you didn't. Get down off your high horse.

God did not burn people in the ovens at Auschwitz, God did not kill "witches" in Salem, God did not wipe out most of the American indians, man did. This makes the evil actions no more or less horrible.

Last time I checked name calling wasn't a sin, or even against the law really.

First of all, check the forum rules. Secondly, name-calling is a very immature tactic. Thirdly, though it isn't a sin, it is very non-Christlike. I sure don't recall Jesus calling people morons.

this is what happens when you talk to idiots, they think they know what they are talking about.

i said the 'world' genius. your little town, city, or country is not the world.

there are far more people that are in some dire situation or need in the world than not.

there are far more people in poverty or diseased or starving or war-ravaged or enslaved etc. all that combined is more people suffering than those who aren't.

why is a numbskull like this breathing?

LOL, I know you said world, I asked you to prove it but you simply cannot.

You have no real idea what people across the world think. There is no one definition for suffering so there is no line in the sand. The most poor dirt farmer in china could be perfectly happy with his lot in life, while the rich spoiled girl thinks its the end of the world if the store is our of her favorite lip gloss.

Suffering for one person is not the same as suffering for someone else, almost everything is subjective. For instance, some men like it when a lady in high heels stomps on his balls. For me, that would be suffering.

Granted, there are some universal things like if your starving or injured.

what if you imagined god as the whole?

I do. An ass whole.

:roflmao:

I dunno...much as I like what G.I.A. is doing? (because sometimes I have a regrettably mean sense of humor...) Does this strike any non-Christians here as uncomfortably close to trolling the Christians???

I'm laughing, but I'm feeling a bit guilty...

you disgust me. what a wretched denialist. 'oh granted there are some universal things like starving or injured. um, they may be suffering but you know some may, you know, like being that way, i mean poor and stuff.' *snort*

omg, that is so dishonest to be unbelievable. i can't believe you equated some example like that to real suffering. it doesn't matter if the bitch thinks her lack of lip gloss is the end of the world, that is not real suffering.

this christian is worried about what 'normal' people are doing, not the ones that are not 'normal' or living 'normal' lives.

notice it pretends to use clever wisdom that the news focuses on just the negative such as sensationalism because that gets the attention of the public. even with this example, they still couldn't get it right. it's because they are just parroting rhetoric but don't apply it correctly because they don't think. even with the news coverage, it doesn't cover the immense amount of people out there which are greater in population who are in need. they are far more in number than those who aren't.

even with that, what kind of person measures people's lives based on averages of those who are or who aren't in suffering. as if they don't matter.
