What is a Real Christian?

I think there is something terribly wrong with homosexuality. I would go into detail, but that would probably provoke a response from the staff and possibly get me banned, and I do so much enjoy this forum.

Homosexuality is a normal variant in sexual preference, also seen in other animals.

Thinking there is something "terribly wrong" with this variance has about as much justification as believing there is something terribly wrong with being more than 6 feet tall.

I would very much like to hear some "detail" about your "reasons" for believing that homosexuality is terrible and wrong. It would be a refreshing change from the mindless prejudicial statements you regularly come out with on the topic. See, the thing is, I doubt you have reasons. I think you just have a gut-level dislike that is not rational - sort of like not liking the taste of mushrooms, or being revolted by the smell of vomit.

On the poll, I voted "piety". It was a hard choice.

It seems to me that all of the options on the list are virtues, with the possible exception of piety, and with some important qualifications on the topic of "faith" that I have discussed elsewhere.

It also seems to me that a "real Christian" could not be so without piety, because a real Christian must be pious towards God and Jesus and the holy spirit. Merely admiring Jesus as a moral leader does not make one a Christian. In the eyes of the Christian church, surely piety is the most important virtue. If you lack it, you can't join the club.

I voted for Courage... namely the courage to do what is right, even when it isn't popular. That includes the courage to stand up in solidarity with those who are LGBT; The courage to stand up against the likes of the WestboroughBaptist Church and others who attempt to use "faith" as a weapon against those they disagree with; the courage to reach out and help those society has deemed "undesirable".

Courage... the courage to take action when needed.
