The Post Whatever Thread

Java and Android are a trending market for apps and games. Java is not a bad choice for games but C++ is better. I am thinking about preparing to develop a game in C++ and OpenGL at the moment. You can even develop a game in Java and OpenGL.
Personally, if I was you I'd create a simple game in a free software package. I'd stick with android as you'll also learn how to distribute your software. You will learn the full life cycle of a game, from ideas to deployment etc. Just what I'd do, plus you could make a few quid if your game is good.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about going the Java and LIBGDX route first and then more on to C++, SDL, and OpenGL later. Android is a great market. I may create my own website in CSS and JavaScript if I feel I have the time and energy to learn to do that or just upload my games on the Android, iOS, Windows, or Mac store. I am still a beginner in coding in Java or C++ so far.

Whoever takes the first piece in draughts/checkers loses. That was until I played against a computer, which struck first, and won. :)

Oh, the irony...

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces. During World War II, black Americans in many U.S. states were still subject to the Jim Crow laws[N 1] and the American military was racially segregated, as was much of the federal government. The Tuskegee Airmen were subjected to discrimination, both within and outside the army.

the movie was VERY good
little bit rushed with the acting
probably need a little more independent character development time and a little more on screen to be perfect.
modern digital tech bigger budget would be ideal
could probably make a whole new one based around the Mediterranean

When FDR discussed integrating the US army with George Catlett Marshall he said "In the middle of a war is no time to conduct social experiments." Negro troops served honorably, doing insane jobs like helping build the AlCan Highway.

the trailer reminded me how much i like lawrences acting
such a stage presence
he has that megga star gravitas in his acting

Note to self: analyse the infinity of memory for the application of time-travel (assuming we do not have to forget things in order to remember new data.)

The sideburns thing was seen in Ken Burns' "The Civil War", so it goes back a few decades for me.

they were an industrialist corporate uniform around the 1700s around Europe
keeping a well trimmed beard or side burns showed you were a man and of wealth and taste
old age was around 35 with most not living past 45
marriage was around 14 years old (for women)and so facial hair would define the difference between boys and men as a status symbol of age and eligibility.

i wonder if there is an element of human condition in the "not in my backyard" morality in a state of transference (subconscious bias)

Another movie about the Tuskegee Airmen is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Tails

thnx
i dont seem to recognise that one if i can find it for less than $5 i will buy it

i think peter jackson in co-operation with the likes of morgan and a few others could make quite the historical document
a real compulsory watch type of thing.
i can picture morgan, will, and a few others casting as the pilots etc...
set to peter jacksons obsession with accurate historical documentation and skill of WWII etc etc... could be quite fabulous, specially if they weave in a bit of a love story & some big action.
assuming they can ask most of the actors to waive 80% of their normal appearance fees.
i doubt it would draw an audience like the animated or family movie mega giants like Dwayne johnson or the frozen series or toy story or finding nemo etc...
