geistkiesel, are you justifying the terrorist in their actions to day by a belief, and action that was carried out 3000 years ago? Has the world stood still in your eyes? that is the problem with the Moslems today, they justify their action by thing that happened 3000 years ago, and their apologist do the same.
The pope quotes from ancient Byzantine text, and now he has now seen fit to retreat from those statements, probably fearing mayhem from the "religion of peace." He was right too.....
Muslims worldwide deny the allegation and demand an apology. Then, just to prove their peaceful disposition they burn some churches and shoot a nun in the back.
The pope should have stood his ground. Those who condemn the words he spoke would kill him anyway for his Christian beliefs.
Anyone who thinks that radical Islam is in a minority need only look at the reaction of these radical "few" to the pope's comments. This reaction should wake up anyone who thinks this is a peaceful religion.

And what’s worst of all, we get silence from the leaders of the West.
The pope was dangling out there all by himself. There is not one leader in any part of the world -- left, right, center, or anywhere in between -- standing up for the pope. The silence from Bush and Blair speak volumes.
