The history of sexism...where did it begin? Why? Can we rid our world of it?

How did that distinction bring about sexism, would you say?
Could it be one cave man saying to his woman, "Get thee behind me ...."

could be. thing is. we no longer live in caves anymore.
I see. So, a man's innate strength, caused him to 'feel' naturally superior to a woman.I can see that as the origin of this 'mindset.' Perhaps, it was a very inherent way of thinking. To this day, women have 'images' of what they perceive as strong men, likewise men have images that they feel epitomize femininity. Neither is wrong to have these biological desires and urges. But, it becomes wrong when men try to pigeon hole women, into certain roles because of our perceived differences. When women feel discriminated against, for jobs etc...simply because of their gender.
But, you bring up such an insightful point...it is curious if to this day, men and women still innately...almost automatically...make judgments simply because we are hard wired that way. I don't know. I'm not ready to fully commit to that idea, but it sounds plausible. There is a certain rawness to our coexistence together as men and women, perhaps.

The real women I know do not want to be lied to. A real woman seems to prefer a man to be able to listen. They cannot, be being lied to, by a man who is listening to them.
Sexism is learned and it is up to each individual to make a conscious choice whether or not to accept it and or employ it.
Male or female, in todays world, the "cons" start at birth and will continue on until...
Always remember...the "pros" start at birth also...and easily outweigh the "cons"...and it is up to each individual to make a conscious choice which to accept and employ...the "pros" or the "cons".

What do you want to build, What do you want to change . Man need woman and woman needs man , we are like left and right foot . What more does a woman wants, The 20 century advanced technology liberated woman from many menial tasks . At the end there is no family if man and woman are not joined and to avoid human extinction a family have to be formed and continue to procreate , and that is a beautiful circle , why change, what change are you promoting ?

OK wegs you liked it, for he buttered you up. Look it's not just women who don't like being lied too. And then why shouldn't women listen to men as often as men listen to women.
Equality implies equal opportunity doesn't it. I don't like sexism either and I'm sure I not that way in real life. If I ask someone to do something, well that in itself is not sexist, but shows partnership, working together, fairness. Any implication of "con" is sick. OK but in truth I stir just to see where the boundaries are.
I'm quite emotional at times, but that is fun, but it becomes very serious too for I become vulnerable. If you stay distant you might not get hurt, but I can't see a partnership working either.
There has to be heart in it.

In my time and from were I come , You open the door for a woman , in the bus you give he the seat , you don't use profanity if a woman is present . So if this is what a woman wants culturaly we should go back because in this country and in the present culture is just opposite then from were I come from.
Tell me what respect can a woman get by going to a tavern among man were a foul language is used, what respect can a woman get if she uses foul language

But what I think wegs was getting at was respect for a female as a Human Being , in all aspects of their being

I would say that sexism began when men put themselves above family and women.
They began to rule for their pleasure and not the benefits of the whole community.
The Kings forgot that it was the Queens that were loved and the center of the community.
A community without enough wombs soon dies.
Women are smaller because the males are supposed to fight for them and that is why they remain smaller.
Now way too many males fight for their own benefit and forget their higher moral responsibilities.
Way too many would join the Captain Coward club and push women and children out of the way while we men run to the lifeboats.
If men keep it up, women of the future will just use us for stud service and we will have earned that position.
Shame on us.
