The history of sexism...where did it begin? Why? Can we rid our world of it?

Are you suggesting that the girl should treat that guy the same as he treated her, if the roles were reversed? Would he treat his male friends like that, and make them take the bus and pay for gas for a ride home that was on the way? The guy in the video is only concerned with himself. He obviously has no feelings for that girl, otherwise he wouldn't have treated her like a piece of trash. That girl should have never went past the phone conversation with him!

As I would look at him from the act he must be a homosexual, The girl wanted to get closer to him and he put a barrier in between , crazy , no popcorn . If not homos. he is just a punk.

My wife delivered my first boy .
I am the one who was awake at night when the child cried I am the one who fed him I was the one who took care of him , so don't give me the 2013 , When she perished in an accident I am the one who took care of them . so wiki pedia don't have any thing to offer for me . U believe you do when the situation demands , you do it.

I think her point was that it's your job too to take care of your family. So you did your job, which means you met the minimum standard. The law requires you to take care of your kids to a minimum standard (shelter, clothes, food, health, safety, education). If you did those things you met the minimum standard. If you wouldn't have done them you could have had your kids taken away from you. Do you understand what responsibility is? Nobody ever said raising a child was a walk in the park, but they did tell you what the minimum you must do, with or without your wife's help.

"If you wouldn't have done them you could have had your kids taken away from you" I did it and I am doing even they are older then 25 . I don't need the government to tell me how to rise a child I don't ask the government for any thing . The government is rising the black in the decaying neighborhoods that is a poor example for the society.

actually, the video's intent is to mock feminism...the guy is supposed to be showing how a woman ‘typically acts’ on a date. If you view it that way, it is laughable. Although, I do have a few old fashioned views about such things, but the main point of the video is to show the guy’s behavior as that of a typical woman, and what she ‘expects’ on a date. I did laugh, though. Like I said, if you don’t laugh about the stereotypes now and again, you will be one sad sack!

Good points. There STILL exists this double standard that if a woman is taking care of the kids, that’s her job, while if a guy is doing it…he is ‘going above and beyond.’ I have a friend whose kids are small, and whenever she wishes to go out to the mall or something, her husband tells his buds who might wish to watch a ballgame or something, ‘’Sorry, I can’t; I’m watching the kids today.’’ You don’t hear women saying that, when they are taking care of their families.

Not all men certainly say this, but it’s not the first time I’ve heard men or heard it through friends, say these types of things. I’ve also heard…’’I’m babysitting today, while Jane gets her hair done.’’

These men are in their 30’s and 40’s…it’s like, what century are you in?

Like I said, if you did those things you met the minimum standard REQUIRED of you. You don't get a medal for doing what was REQUIRED of you. But if you DIDN'T do those things you would get a knock on the door from child protective services telling you either do it or lose the kids.

Maybe you don't but other people certainly do. If the government didn't set a minimum standard, then some people wouldn't feed, cloth, or shelter their kids, because they are not responsible people. A young child isn't capable of taking care of themselves, so the government looks out for their best interests. In some cases the government looks out for the child more than the parent does.

There definitely exists a mentality that it's the wife's job to raise the kids. I raised 3 kids of my own, so I know a thing or two about raising kids, especially teenagers. YUK! ;)

No, with my wife. I just meant that I had kids of my own. She did most of the hard work with the kids while I went off and played Army a lot of the time.
Well I do hope you behaved and weren't one of those sexists mentioned in the "Invisible War documentary". That sort of behaviour is just unacceptable. Peer pressure could have come into, but in the end the military men, Christians any way, would need to take a stand.
What did Jesus say Matthew 18:9 "And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It's better to enter eternal life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell."

It takes courage to be righteous. Try it - rip out your eye and throw it away!

Women have carnal desires too.
Throughout history, women were taught to feel ashamed if they liked sex.
So they were repressed in that way, too.

I think we shouldn't misuse our sexuality but nothing wrong with desiring sex.

We're not together anymore, I live alone now. My kids are all over 21 years old now. I spent a year in Korea alone because the Army didn't allow family members where I was stationed. Our marriage was strong and we survived, but it wasn't easy. Many many soldiers whom I was stationed with got the "Dear John" letter. In other words, their spouses decided to leave THEM while they were stationed overseas. I could tell stories for YEARS, but I digress.

The history of sexism...where did it begin? Why? Can we rid our world of it?
Is it going to end here? Unfinished.
Can we rid our world of sexism? The history part is quite difficult ... but we should be able to stop it.

Why get rid of sexism ? Women have protection from undesirable men. They ( women ) take care of the household . In essence they have an important place in the society and for that purpose we select them specially by gender of sex.

Sexual differential has a natural purpose, therefore sexism is natural. However, women like you to lie to them and tell them what they want to hear. In the spirit of lying, and telling women what they want to hear, sexism is learned and has no place in evolution. Don't pay attention to the animals since they are all trying to con you.

Not really. Sexual distinctions and differences between the sexes, doesn't produce a natural byproduct of sexism. Sexism is more of an attitude, it is a choice to discriminate against someone based on their sex.

However, women like you to lie to them and tell them what they want to hear.

No, we don't.

In the spirit of lying, and telling women what they want to hear, sexism is learned and has no place in evolution.

Sexism is a learned behavior, and I agree...it has no place in the world. We can agree there. :)

Don't pay attention to the animals since they are all trying to con you.

Some definitely are...true. ''Con'' is a word I don't use often, or hear too much in everyday speech, but yes. That's a very appropriate word to describe some men I've encountered, as of late.

Thx for your thoughts.
