Somone who knows God.!!!

my grandma was a holy roller, but i didn't buy it. religion always turned me off big time.

when i first started questioning though, i did read a book about all of the world's major religions...

...i didn't even read the bible really...

Wait. Hold up.

... So, you were talking about what the bible said and did not say earlier. Now I'm left to wonder how much you really actually know about your own faith.

i can't think of anything off the top of my head that's unreasonable.

*uncontrolled spewing coffee through nose laughter*

This deserves a Top Ten classification in the "what christians say" thread.

I doubt you can do much better than to have the author teach you about what is written through your own life experience.

Isn't that a flaw?

ok, if that's the way it is, then i can tolerate it, just the same way i tolerate it now. i endure. but i would not choose a life of tolerating sin and the effects of it. i would much rather anihilate that, and live a better life without it. the fact that some people are so resided to living this substandard life of suffering is beyond me. i am not resided to it, and i never will be. somebody has to take a stand, and i don't mind being one of those people who do.

yes. there's a way of determining that. in the bible they call it "the fruit of the spirit". what that means is the outcome that is manifest from a spiritual influence or interaction. if it's developmental, good, positive, then it's good fruit. if it's destructive, bad, negative, then it's bad fruit. the interactions i have had have developed me in a way that is very positive. even the people around me who know me comment on it. i have peace and strength that i've never had prior. peace and strength are good things right? so there ya go.

So you're getting trasmissions from old dead Jewish men? 'Cause that's who wrote the bible, and there's no contesting that.

my life experience confirms many major tenets in the book. it's really quite simple. all you have to do is open your eyes and be honest. it's clear that you have an agenda. and agenda which i find ironic. and an agenda that clouds your vision...obviously.

i would imagine that gal's fruit went splat. lots of self-destructive things can make you feel good while you're doing them. but in the long run, if the outcome is destructive, the fruit is rotten.

Wait a minute.. you see yourself as inherently sinful and you just endure and tolerate it? You think your life is substandard and yet you choose to tolerate that, rather than do something about it?
Or are you speaking for all of us? I wasn't.
What kind of stand are you making? Or when? And do you think it will make any difference?

enmos, if sin is inherent which it is, then you must tolerate it. i am very well aware of the substandard existence that we're living right now, but i'm also aware that there's a reason for it. doesn't mean you have to be defeated. i don't feel that way at all. i feel like god is making the best of it for me. just because i asked him to, and i trust him.

the stand i'm making is in recognition of sin. i am committed to it's abolition even unto death. i believe in redemption, and in perfection, and i want that.

yes it makes a difference. your thoughts and desires manifest into the world.
