New, Improved Obamacare Program Released On 35 Floppy Disks

You know that is a blatant lie!. If any of the top 1% of the richest people are in government (which they are not), it's because you put them there! Don't come crying to me now. You are the Capitalist. It is true, most Senators are milionaires. Thanks to SCOTUS, that is what it takes to get elected nowadays, but that does not put them anywhere near the top 1%. Its the top 1% who "sponsor" (buy) the Representatives of the people.
"I" put them there did I? I didn't know I was so powerful.

Capitalism is amoral, I'm afraid you've reverted to pre-6 months ago when we went through this. We do NOT live in a capitalistic free-market society. We live in a fiat-currency highly regulated fascist State.

But I am willing to bet anyone that if you do not get health insurance and you do get sick, you will have no qualms abuot making others pay for your bill. But then of course that is the Capitalist way of free choice to refuse medical care when you are dying. Will you be that principled?
I pay for health insurance. In a free society, everyone would afford cheap catastrophic insurance. In a free society basic healthcare would be inexpensive. The reason it's not cheap and of high quality, is the same reason why public housing is dangerous crap-holes. Government regulation, loss of self-ownership, lawlessness and fiat-currency.

You are not willing to contribute into your own entitlement programs, but you will use it when time comes, I guarantee it. Don't lie or misrepresent facts.
Right now, good Americans Citizens are paying on an NFL stadium built in the 1960s and demolished in the 1990s. It was built at a cost of $20 million. Oh, but the people of 1963 didn't want to pay - but they did want a "Public" Stadium. You know 'for the good of society'. And the politicians wanted a short-term works project. You know, 'for the good of society'. And the middle-class, they wanted the jobs. You know 'for the good of society'. So what did they do? Well, through the magic of fiat currency and income tax, they sold bonds. Who paid? Why their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren of course. How much is owed by these children, in the year 2010, at a time when this stadium is long gone and bulldozed into the ground? Oh, why only $40 million left to pay. Hey, if they're lucky, maybe they can work at one of the chain-stores that litter our hyper-regulated fascistic State to help pay on that stadium they never seen, used or probably heard of.

.....of course, they'll need an annual public licence to work as a door greeter, not to keep a public bureaucrat employed in a do-nothing job with great benefits, medical insurance, vacation time and yearly wage increases -but, you know "for the good of society". Can't be too careful in the Land of the "Free" and Home of the Pathetic.

You're the one that wants to shove a gun in everyone's face, not me. That's you. Well, you got your wish - we live in a world of violence.
Welcome to Democracy middle-class style.
Do enjoy our ObamaCare.

Extension Expected on Health Policies Not Meeting Law

The Obama administration plans to let insurers sell policies that don't comply with the federal health law for at least 12 more months—a second delay aimed at averting another furor over canceled plans, insurance-industry officials said.

Millions of Americans received notices last fall saying their health-insurance policies would be canceled because they didn't meet the Affordable Care Act's stricter coverage standards. In November, President Barack Obama said state insurance commissioners could let health plans reinstate such policies for 12 months since many consumers were unable to use the balky HealthCare.gov website to obtain replacement coverage.

Mr. Obama's delay in cancellations had meant consumers could receive another cancellation notice before the midterm elections in November. Now, the administration has decided to extend the reprieve, according to two insurance industry officials.

The exact length of the expected delay is unclear. One insurance official said the reprieve could be an additional year or longer. That would allow many existing plans to stay in place through at least 2016.
Of course, 'at least' through *cough* the next election cycle *cough* 2016.

You know what's wonderful about Government encroaching into all aspects of our lives? (1) In order to have ANY SEMBLANCE of free-market efficiency it must spy on every action of every individual which means the "Patriot" Act isn't going to pass into history, it's here to stay, and about to be expanded (2) Central Planning can never know your subjective experience and so it will always fail to deliver quality at price without stealing from someone to do so. That someone will be you. Why is this great? I think it's nice to see Government right up close and personal - face to face. Breathing hot poisonous stench into your nostrils all day every day.. standing there, never leaving and always watchful. Threatening to shoot you in the head if you dare not do what it wants (for the "Good of Society" of course, because, "You use the roads"). Without another generation left to sell T Bonds on, we get to see Government outside of the sheep's clothing. I think that's good. Iatropic death is, at present, your number 3 likely reason to die, and while it's sad to see the day when Public Hospitals push that to #1 (even though 'official' numbers won't even list it) - people will know. Just as they know good god damn well that they sure as hell do not want to live in a Public Housing slum project (set up to, you know "Help The Poor"). That's how GovernmentCare will become across the next 15-25 years.

I'm hoping O-blah-ma is followed up with 8 years of Hitlery.
Let's see if she can sink this f*cker.

Obamacare Morphs into Hitllarycare

Well, that didn't take long.

Obama Gives Health Plans Added Two-Year Reprieve
Our Bureaucrat in Chief adds two more years onto the delays, thereby passing the buck past the attention span of most American Tax Cattle and into the lap of media-darling, GoldmanSux Suck-Up, Hitllary Clinton.

What a farce our illustrious "Republic" has turned out to be.

Yeah, Obama did give an extension for some existing substandard policies largely for political reasons. It muted the ability of people like the Koch brothers to run the deceptive Julie Ads. From a practical perspective, the extension is inconsequential. The number of people affected by this is miniscule. Most people will see that Obamacare insurance policies are better - provide more insurance and at less cost and will take advantage of the Obamacare insurance policies and voluntarily dump their substandard and expensive health insurance policies. Unfortunately for the American right wing, not everyone is an idiot.

The world's most efficient healthcare systems, the US pre-Obamacare system ranks 46 out of 48. China is 37th on the list and all those nasty socialist countries are at the top of the list and are the most efficient. :)

Joe, I don't know where you get the patience. I have him on ignore and the only reason I read his post in #824 is because it is quoted. Bu now that I have read it, I really cannot contain my amazement at the convoluted mind who can dream up such utter nonsense, not only in the message content, but in every single word or phrase used in the argument.
It reminds me of the "emperor's new clothes". In the fabric of his argument, there is not a strand of whole cloth. It sounds almost like the uncontrolled words and expressions of an autistic child.

One sentence I could modify to make sense is "what a farce our once illustrious "Republicans" have turned out to be".

I am looking forward to the next message, "This message is hidden because Michael is on your ignore list."

Of course the USA has a poorly run inefficient healthcare system, it's 100% centralized around various rent-seeking activities - all of which utilize the State to enforce private monopolization and market control. Thus, we have high prices and low quality.

But, don't worry, I'm not suggesting ObamaCare is going away - no no no. That's not what the State does. It's only going to grow larger - and cost more and decrease in quality and increase in wait time. This is what the State does. Finally, one day long off in the future (maybe not THAT long) you're going to have a functionally illiterate public school graduate 'quota' trying to make out the squiggles on your mandated Public Healthcare Chart - leaning over you with a somewhat perplexed look on their face.

When she/he shrugs their shoulders and goes back to their smart phone (or whatever), try and remember that healthcare is the #3 likely reason to die in the USA. Not lack of healthcare - but the AMA Certified, State-backed, Healthcare itself. If we think healthcare is bad now, just wait till the public healthcare unions come along with their quotas. You're in for a treat :) Oh, and all this 'free' healthcare is going to cost a pretty penny. I'm of the mind we start taxing landlords. How's that sound? "Redistribute" the ill-gotten gains for the "Good of Society". You do use the roads after all ;)

From Forbes: McKinsey: Only 14% Of Obamacare Exchange Sign-Ups Are Previously Uninsured Enrollees
The Obama administration has, for months now, been peddling nice-sounding numbers as to how many people are gaining health coverage due to Obamacare. But their numbers have been inflated on two fronts. First, not everyone who has “selected a marketplace plan” under Obamacare has actually paid the required premiums, payment being required to actually gain coverage. Second, only a fraction of people on the exchanges were previously uninsured. A new survey from McKinsey gives us a better view into the real numbers. Of the 3.3 million people that the White House has touted as Obamacare exchange “sign-ups,” less than 500,000 are actual uninsured people who have actually gained health coverage. Only 19 percent of those who have paid a premium were previously uninsured. Among those that the administration is touting as sign-ups, only 14 percent are previously uninsured enrollees: approximately 472,000 people as of February 1.

According to the Associated Press, at least 4.7 million Americans who shop for coverage on their own have had their plans canceled because they don’t conform to Obamacare’s regulations. So Obamacare has disrupted the coverage of millions of Americans, requiring many to purchase costlier policies with higher deductibles and narrower doctor networks, for a fairly modest expansion of coverage.

According to the administration, total sign-ups now exceed 4 million. But on a recent HHS conference call, Obamacare implementation point man Gary Cohen was asked the key question: how many of the people who have signed up for Obamacare were previously insured? His response: “That’s not a data point that we are really collecting in any sort of systematic way.” So. The whole point of Obamacare was to expand coverage to the uninsured. But for the tens of thousands of regulations that the law has imposed on the country, its authors never bothered to try to measure the one thing that they were actually trying to achieve. That about sums it all up.

Let's see:
War on Drug: Trillions borrowed, lost. No change in drug use, large prison population of any country in the world (land of the 'free').
War on Literacy: Trillion borrowed, lost. No change in scholastic performance - well, except now functionally illiterate graduates make up 50% of some graduating classes from public schools.
War on Cancer: Trillions borrowed, lost.
War on Terror: $8.5 Trillion borrowed, lost.
War on Poverty: Trillions borrowed, lost.
War on Privacy: Trillion borrowed, won. The Government, thanks to the "Patriot" Act, can collect and retain all your personal communications. How nice....
Bailing out the richest 0.001%: Won.

This is what the State does: Violence.

But, don't worry, you're going to get GovernmentCare - it'll be a safe as Public Housing and as useful as a Public "High" School degree.
Welcome to Democracy - middle class style.

Michael is a lost cause. Michael is beyond reason. Michael is impervious to facts and reason. With Michael facts and reason are trumped by his ideology every time. He uses Sciforums as a platform to proselytize his ideology. When I first joined Sciforms, the forum was loaded with folks who share his ideology. Some sanity to the forums has been restored, I'd like to keep it that way.

LOL, Joe, maybe if you knew what the word 'reason' meant, let alone how to apply it to thought, I'd take you a bit more serious. But, the sad fact is you have made absolutely no attempt to learn, understand or apply 'logic' thus, I must assume you have no idea what logic is either, or how it relates to, or differs from, rationalism or empiricism. Your "reason" goes something like this: Watch Maddow on TV. Experience confirmation bias. Bask in it. Complain about Koch brothers. Listen to simplistic Jingoism (Hope and Change). Vote for who the TV tells you to vote for - probably Hitlary. Complain about GOP. Wash. Repeat. As for Write4U, they think words and wishes *magically* become limited resources and have probably never heard terms like 'rent seeking' and how it differs from profit. To someone like Write4U, an extremely simplistic message like "Change You Can Believe In" rings true and will pull in the votes from these suckers every day of the week. The role of profit, money, limited resources (aka: reality) all of this is evil and confuses the Write4U's of the world who much prefer magic rainbow unicorns that fly out of O-blah-ma's arse and save us all from the big bad Walmart and Koch brothers (while at the same time shopping at various chain stores for the best deals - I mean, money's tight, better give it to the chain stores).

As for GovernmentCare, I don't have to wonder how that's going to turn out. It will be as crap as all other Government 'Services'. It will be overpriced and low quality. Right now, iatrogenic death (death by healthcare) is the 3rd likely reason to die.

So, do, enjoy you ObamaCare - because thanks to Government violence, rent-seeking activities make it extremely expensive, and thanks to more Government inference - that number is only set to rise. Well, hell, it only has two more places to rise to. In 15-25 years iatrogenic death will be the #1 reason anyone unfortunate enough to end up in a Government hospital will die of. You'll be lucky to make it our alive.

Note: The Department of "Education" is run by some unknown bureaucrat who blows through the entire Koch Brother's fortune annually, $50 BILLION dollars a year, and by all measures Americans are LESS educated now than in 1979 when it opened its doors. Any 'reasoning' individual would shut it down. In a free-market it would have gone bust decades ago. But, no no no, not in the USSA. The Write4U's wouldn't jump up and down, spit and pull their hair out if you dared shut down this monstrosity because some Rainbow farting demagogue well say "They Don't Love the Children". And guess what we get as a bonus? The same government that ruins education also incompetently borrows and spends $8.5 TRILLION losing two more wars against "Terror". The same government passes a (literally Orwellian) "Patriot" Act, borrows $120 BILLION, and uses ITS NSA to spy on ITS American "Citizens". Oh, and let's not forget how the Government's "Central Bank" manages the economy and bails out the rich. Yes, Government - let's make it bigger.

So, according to Joe's 'reasoning' this same incompetent, lying, immoral government that sells bonds on your children is going to deliver high-quality affordable Healthcare. If only those Koch brothers will get out of O-blah-ma's way and let him do his goodness! Yes, the next time O-blah-ma bends over, look for the Unicorn running along the magical *Change We Can Believe In* rainbows farting out of his arse. Because high-quality, affordable Government run healthcare is about as likely.

That aside, I thought I'd remind you. Don't forget to stump for Hitlary Joe, she's going 'fix' all this mess the "Koch" brothers made and those few Republicans in the House. HAHAHA..... Yes Joe, use that "reasoning" and Hope and Change our way to a prosperous future. HA!!! Inbetween visiting GoldmanSux, I'm sure Hitlary will save us! Up Up and AWAAAAAYYYY..... magic double rainbows.... LOL

Even the unions are turning on Obamacare.

A national union that represents 300,000 low-wage hospitality workers charges in a new report that Obamacare will slam wages, cut hours, limit access to health insurance and worsen the very “income equality” President Obama says he is campaigning to fix.

Unite Here warned that due to Obamacare's much higher costs for health insurance than what union workers currently pay, the result will be a pay cut of up to $5 an hour. "If employers follow the incentives in the law, they will push families onto the exchanges to buy coverage. This will force low-wage service industry employees to spend $2.00, $3.00 or even $5.00 an hour of their pay to buy similar coverage," said the union in a new report.

“Only in Washington could asking the bottom of the middle class to finance health care for the poorest families be seen as reducing inequality,” said the report from Unite Here. “Without smart fixes, the ACA threatens the middle class with higher premiums, loss of hours, and a shift to part-time work and less comprehensive coverage,” said the report, titled, “The Irony of Obamacare: Making Inequality Worse.”

Meanwhile, the RNC is creating a list of voters who have lost their insurance due to Obamacare, presumably to use in a get out the vote campaign this November.

List of people like Julie :) and no unions are not turning against Obamacare. If you take the Washington Examiner seriously, I have some bridges I want to sell you.
People like Julie? Yeah, people like her. People who were promised that Obamacare would not affect them. People that were promised that if Obamacare did affect them, it would only be in the form of a $2,500 savings in insurance costs.

Now they are facing a reality in which Obamacare has caused them to lose their insurance. A reality in which they can no longer see the doctor of their choice. A reality of more expensive insurance, with higher deductibles, more restrictions, and which forces them to pay for a broad range of things they neither want nor need.

These people are pissed, and these people are going to express their dissatisfaction this November.

Yeah, except Obamacare does none of those things. As we disscussed before, Jullie gets more insurance and it costs her less. The audacity of Obamacare! It offers more insurance and lower costs. How horrible! :)

you really have no idea how bonds work do you?

Micheal doesn't understand how life works, much less any of the details. Democracy is a messy and inefficient form of government whose only redeeming value is that it is better than all other forms of government, Micheal's ideas being one of the worst. His ideology has gotten in the way of his reason, a common fault in selfish, greedy a__holes.

kind of what I was getting at. He rails against bonds but the purchasing of a bond is purely a free choice no coercion at all so he is railing against something that fits his own ideal
