New, Improved Obamacare Program Released On 35 Floppy Disks

that I turn on CNN and see "Obama's Legacy" or "The Great leader now gone" or "Terror to come" ... When will they get up to speed and stop their nostalgia.

Imagine this was 2000 and the start of the Bush Administration and we are watching a tv series about how the Clinton did not fucks up, and we think "oh how bad could Bush jr be?" several trillion dollar war later and near economic collapse would be the answer. Once again history repeats its self "how bad could trump be?" oh we will find out.

All I'm asking for is reasonably taxing those that have the resources to be taxed, a billionaire could stand to lose a few billion and still be unbelievably rich.
LOL
Yes, we just need another tax. One more, for the road.

You seem to think fiat currency units are the same thing as goods and services.

Why not just have the government print up an extra trillion dollars? Or how about this: Add a zero to the end of the dollar. *POOF* more money. Then the Government will have more money. Not more goods and services, but more money. And for whatever reason, you seem to think that'll fix things.

Who needs efficiency through the price mechanism anyway? We still have plenty of planet Earth to burn through.

Taxing the producers (the top 20% pay about 85% of the income tax), hasn't worked and isn't going to work. Taking from producers is probably worse than just outright debasing the currency. You're literally removing capital FROM investment, giving it to a horribly inefficient bureaucracy, one that functions nearly blind, filled with incompetent government crony's who are more interested in their sweet-arse vacations (errrr.... important government meeting about healthcare) and 6 figure tax-chattel funded retirement at 55 plans, than anything else.

Why do that? You'll simply have LESS of the very goods and services you want redistributed.

What we need are more doctors, more new medicines, more capital investment, more hospitals, more more more. The best way that is implemented is through a free-market, using a sound money within the law. Law that doesn't steal your property (taxation) but actually protects your property. We need LESS taxation. Less regulation. Less rent-seeking. Less Government.

Not more.
Less.

A lot less.

Anyway, I believe, before it's said and done, God-Emperor Trump will bless the masses with GovernmentCare. HE will give us healthcare. Him. You know, like how Bernie is going to give us two additional years of Government Schooling (because the first 12 don't seem to be enough). All it takes is a little FAITH in Government, then pull the magic left-right voting lever. Kind of like magic.

In America we spend 9000 per person per year.

So, where does this money come from? Only 50% of the public pays tax. So that's 18,000 per tax payer. But most tax payers don't ever pay that amount of tax! Jesus, most barely make that much a year. So whatever the bill is, it's going to be higher than 18,000 per tax payer. Where does THAT money come from?
We're paying the money now, so there's no problem getting it.

If we adopt one of the half price systems everybody else use - everybody with better delivery than we have - we can hand back 4000 a year per person to wherever we're getting it from now.

It's spelled "moar", or sometimes "MOAR!", in this context.
Whatever.

We need to remove the culture, the notion, the very idea of turning to Government to fix social problems. Which will happen. Government is too slow, too incompetent, too inefficient to actually do any of the things people want it to do. Thus, it will be voluntarily left to rot on the vine, first by a dying society slowly committing cultural suicide, and next by whatever replaces that. As a matter of fact, THAT'LL be the fix.

:D

In the meantime, let's rejoice at the coming of the God-Emperor and his free GivermintCare program :)

If by 'paying' you mean; Running up 100s of billions of dollars in deficit while accumulating 10s of trillions of printed fiat currency units via T-Bond sale debt.
Okay.

Paid in full!

So, all we have to do now is pull the magic voting lever and have GiverMint print up some more money. Maybe tack a big fat ZERO on the end of each dollar and *POOF* more than enough fiat currency units to pay for everything and then some!

We'll all be rich!
LOL

How about instead of magic-thinking, where there's enough of everything, for everyone, all the time (if only we had that magic zero at the end of each fiat currency unit!) and we instead produce more healthcare goods and services?

Which do you think is a better option? Actually produce more healthcare goods and services or produce more zeros on our currency units? Because if you want more healthcare goods and services, then you're going to need to deregulate the healthcare market and remove the regulatory capture held in place by the rent-seekers who would like to keep prices high. Higher than now. Triple the price. Which is achieved by decrease the competition / supply. Well, here in the USA, we don't do 'free-market'. Our Political Masters don't allow that. We just too stooopid. We need Nanny. She'll take care of everything!

Hahahahaha.....

We already "produce" more healthcare goods and services per capita than anyone else on the planet. That's obviously not the source of our substandard care delivery compared to them.

Regardless, cutting the bill in half would be a good thing - and there are more than 30 examples of other industrialized countries who have done that, and with higher quality delivery as a result. So it's been done many times, in several different ways, by all kinds of different people.

Let's see what our Farmers decide is good for the Tax Chattel. Maybe they will provide free GovernmentCare. And, perhaps to pay for it, they'll cut SSI payments and whomever cannot get by, they can go live in one of the Government's Happy Happy Welfare Farms?

Hey! Looky there, the Tax Farmers decided that a watered down version of the first mess would be good enough for the functional-illiterate voting masses who want someone to pay for their free-shit.

BMJ: Medical error—the third leading cause of death in the US.

The judo aspect of it has been fun to watch, seeing the Republicans trying to replace their own plan from 1993 with - their own plan, only damaged? - and getting completely frustrated in the process. Trying to bite their own teeth, in the Zen phrase.

The obvious alternative to Obamacare is the same now as then: some kind of socialization of medical insurance, as in Wellstone's setup of the time, or less dramatically a gradual expansion of Medicare with a buy-in option, or the like.

But there's no way for the modern Republican Party to propose such a thing. And the situation now is that they can't even act to keep their own plan in good working order - so even the erstwhile '93 Republican plan, Obamacare, is going to fail under Republican "governance" like this.

Conservative columnist, Kathleen Parker, writes "The most sensible solution was to fix what was already in place until the inevitable day, coming soon, when we become a dual health-care system: Single-payer for the majority of Americans and concierge health care for the wealthy. It’s just a matter of time." It is coming and the ACA may be that stepping stone to it. There was no way we were going to go straight to Medicare for all.
