Masturbation is for Losers

But the desires of your heart are fulfilled in Christ. He's the One that put them there in the first place, and the only One who can firstly, show you what they truly are, and secondly, fulfill them.

Given the nature of the bible, especially the things which have already been proved wrong and exposed the bible for the literature it is - It is easy to assume this Jesus character either never existed or was greatly exaggerated through the story telling of the time.

Tabloid journalism is far more accurate than the bible, and even that is largely fabricated.

The bible says a lot of things about Jesus, including that he was stone dead, came back to life then 'ascended' up to heaven. COME ON... You want me to follow these stories as fact?

I'm not going to base fiction as a rule NOT to masturbate if I want to.

M*W: I like your analogy that the bible is ancient tabloid journalism. That makes sense!

Cris,

Are you truly in search of immortality?

ps...it's been fun chatting. I have to go to work now.

Well if it isn't the antichrist's little cheerleader! An enlightened lot, cheerleaders are...siss, boom, bah...rah, rah, rah!

Give me an "a"! Give me an "n"! Give me a "t"! Give me an "i"! Give me a "c"! Give me an "h"! Give me an "r"! Give me another "i"! Give me an "s"! Give me another "t"! What does it spell? Antichrist! Antichrist! Go, antichrist! Yeah!

I read in a book that masturbation is a way to relieve desires that would otherwise build up in unhealthy ways. But to each his/her own I guess :p

water,

How can you allow yourself such a blunder?! Doing as if you had proven a negative ...
He is a story book character much like Sherlock Holmes. And why would you need a proof when there is no credibility. Potentially the most important being in the history of the universe and a god no less, and there is not a single piece of historical evidence to show he ever existed. He is a composite fictional character developed by early mythmakers based on older mythologies.

Lori,

Self hypnosis can be very powerful.

He's the One that put them there in the first place, and the only One who can firstly, show you what they truly are, and secondly, fulfill them.
No free will then, and no point making an effort for yourself then?

Until it is satisfied. Desire isn't defined as being insatiable.

Desire cannot be satisfied. Desire cannot be ended by satisfying it. It never ends, it can only be temporarily appeased. You feed it, then it subsides for a while, and then it emerges again.

Lori,

Are you truly in search of immortality?
Sure and I guess unlike you since I suspect you think you have achieved it already, right?

Thinking, declaring something or someone does not make this thing or person be what that declaration says.

A person isn't stupid just because you called them so.
A person isn't wise just because you called them so.
A thing isn't good just because you called it so.
A thing isn't bad just because you called it so.

Your saying that a thing or person doesn't exist does not make that thing or person non-existent.

water,

Desire cannot be satisfied. Desire cannot be ended by satisfying it.
If I desire food, and then eat then my desire is satisfied. Very simple.

It never ends, it can only be temporarily appeased. You feed it, then it subsides for a while, and then it emerges again.
Each event is a new desire not the same one.

water,

Your saying that a thing or person doesn't exist does not make that thing or person non-existent.
It wouldn't if that person actually existed. The problem here is that no one can show he ever existed in the same way they can't show that fairies ever existed or that Sherlock Holmes ever existed. So what's your problem?

If you want to show that I am wrong then produce evidence that shows that he actually existed.

Sex can satisfy your body but it does not satisfy your immortal spirit. Otherwise, it would be enough to do it only once. The desire always comes back, it is never satisified, only temporarly.

Sex is a desire to unify, to become whole, to become what we really are, to find "God". But two bodies can never unite, the body itself restricts it. How can the body want something that it itself restricts? Impossible. This desire does not come from the body, but from "me", which is invisible and immaterial.

Once, we used to be in the paradisical state of oneness, but because we were born into bodies, we fell from the unity. Material things are doomed to be separated, otherwise they couldn't exist. Matter can never become spirit again by its own power, that's why the creative aspect of God, the self, clothes itself in the body to save us. Unity is only possible in an immaterial state. Marriage with God, with yourself, in your consciousness.

M*W: I disagree. Human desire does not come from any creator god. Human desire arises from our psyche. Desire creates passion. Every artist, writer, researcher, sports enthusiast, and all other areas of desire, knows that their passion comes from their innermost sexuality.

How can you presume that everyone's desire comes from Christ? What about the rest of who who don't believe in Christ, yet have healthy passionate desires that become fulfilled? I know what my desires are and how to go about fulfilling them. I don't need a god to do that for me. In fact, that's a cop out. I take responsiblity for fulfilling my own desires. If everybody left their innermost desires up to a god-directed religion, the human race would surely die out.

C7,

Sex can satisfy your body
While it appears to be physical activity in reality its success is about 90% mental and only 10% physical. So to be more precise it is satisfying to the mind more than the body.

but it does not satisfy your immortal spirit.
Can’t satisfy something that doesn’t exist.

Otherwise, it would be enough to do it only once.
Don’t see any logic in that. It’s like saying you only ever need to do anything once.

The desire always comes back, it is never satisified, only temporarly.
You appear to be as confused as “water”. Each desire is separate and satisfaction can occur each time.

Sex is a desire to unify, to become whole, to become what we really are, to find "God".
No, it isn’t – it is for personal pleasure.

But two bodies can never unite, the body itself restricts it.
Glad you realize we are individuals.

How can the body want something that it itself restricts? Impossible.
It doesn’t and it is not clear why you even suggest it.

This desire does not come from the body, but from "me", which is invisible and immaterial.
Well, no that is just more of your usual mystical gibberish, which is starting to be become very tiresome, that you manage to weave into every scenario.

Once, we used to be in the paradisical state of oneness,
No. We were born, we grow, and to date we all die. We know of nothing else.

Material things are doomed to be separated, otherwise they couldn't exist.
The conclusion is a non sequitur, and why doomed? Matter and energy are constantly in a state of change and interchange. This is normal.

Matter can never become spirit again by its own power, that's why the creative aspect of God, the self, clothes itself in the body to save us. Unity is only possible in an immaterial state. Marriage with God, with yourself, in your consciousness.
Gibberish.

People want to do things many times because they can't satisfy themselves, they can't reach to goal, unity.

Only because our bodies are separate, we think we are individuals.

It's always the same desire: to unite with the one you love. People who are in love often say they could eat each other up, they want to unite. The desire to unite exists because we were once united and whole. That's why people who fall in love sometimes feel like they have always known each other, they subconsciously remember that reality.

Man appears to be the complementary half of the woman, and reversed... since people identify themselves with their body, they think they are only a half. God is the unification of both poles (nothingness)

No. We were born, we grow, and to date we all die.

Life on earth cannot be so pointless. There must be a goal which can be attained.

C7,

People want to do things many times because they can't satisfy themselves, they can't reach to goal, unity.
Or they reach their goal, enjoy it, and find pleasure in doing it again. For example, I remember when I read my first novel when I was a child, I enjoyed it so much that I have been reading books ever since. It is not a matter of reaching your specious unity or a specific goal – it is part of ongoing life.

Only because our bodies are separate, we think we are individuals.
We are most definitely individuals.

It's always the same desire: to unite with the one you love.
It is overwhelmingly primarily personal pleasure. That pleasure can be significantly enhanced as part of a couple. If it was not for personal pleasure we would not engage in sex. Just like all animals it is a primitive and primeval instinct.

People who are in love often say they could eat each other up, they want to unite.
That’s sexual passion not a desire to be one.

The desire to unite exists because we were once united and whole.
Invalid premise and invalid conclusion.

That's why people who fall in love sometimes feel like they have always known each other, they subconsciously remember that reality.
BS. That’s simple personality compatibility.

Man appears to be the complementary half of the woman, and reversed...
Or man and man, or woman and woman, depending on your sexual orientation. But no. That’s a combination of social pressure (to be a part of a couple), and social instincts from our evolutionary development.

since people identify themselves with their body, they think they are only a half.
No that’s primarily social pressure, which can be overcome. I have been very happily divorced now for 11 years and have deliberately chosen a single lifestyle. I am fiercely independent, value my privacy, and most certainly do not feel I am only a half of something. And there are an increasing number of people like me and especially among women who now no longer need to depend on a male “breadwinner”.

God is the unification of both poles (nothingness)
Religion is an unnecessary consideration for a successful relationship or sexual pleasure. And of course your bizarre mystical perspective is doubly irrelevant.

Life on earth cannot be so pointless.
Why not?

There must be a goal which can be attained.
Then let’s define one for ourselves.
