Masturbation is for Losers

Lori,

I picked up on your statement -
But it got to the point where I had a negative association with it. The thoughts that would go through my mind while doing it were not what I would consider to be "pure" or "positive" in any way.
That's looks incredibly like guilt. How else should one interpret "not pure or positive"?

Lori,

Sorry - I'm a bit confused by that. You are in a relationship but not having sex and not maturbating - because of religious beliefs, right? So you have no form of satisfying sexual outlet, but do have urges? Isn't that unhealthy?

I did not stop masturbating or having sex because of religious beliefs. I stopped because I wanted to. I found that over time, I developed a negative association with it. I came to feel more and more like I was settling for something that I had known since the very beginning was not sastifying. I'm simply looking for the utmost in fulfillment, and I'm no longer willing to settle for anything less than that. So I've found that my urges have diminished in regards to the cheap substitutes. I mean, why would you have an urge for something that you don't want? I would be having an urge for something that I have a negative association with. I'm just like a pavlov dog, man.

I would say that "not pure or positive" would be relative and subject to the perceptions of an individual.

Let me ask you...is there any porn "out there" that you would consider to be "not pure or positive"? Do you draw any lines at all, no matter how arbitrary they may be?

Lori,

So now, and for years now, I've been saving myself for my future husband. Anyone else out there think that's a good idea?
I guess it comes down to whatever makes you happy. There is certainly a disciplined intellectualy satisfying aspect to being "choosy", although with some degree of reasonable compromise.

Oh yea, choosey moms choose Jesus.

Oh for sure. I find much of it a big turn off. But that seems to be a different issue. What you seem to be saying is that you no longer find masturbation enjoyable. OK. I could perhaps argue for trying different techniques but I'm no expert here. And I accept that many people reach a point where it is simply not important or just too much effort.

Well Ken,

That's not what Jesus told me, so....

I doubt very seriously that you've sought His opinion on this one. And hey, it's your life, and free will and all of that, so have at it. You know, if that's what you're willing to settle for.

Jesus told me that if you put the energy that you spend wacking off, into praying for a mate, then you could actually get laid!

Tabloid journalism is far more accurate than the bible, and even that is largely fabricated.

The bible says a lot of things about Jesus, including that he was stone dead, came back to life then 'ascended' up to heaven. COME ON... You want me to follow these stories as fact?

I'm not going to base fiction as a rule NOT to masturbate if I want to.

Kenny,

I would never suggest that you do such a thing.

And Chris,

Yea, yea, you understand me. I was afraid that I didn't say it quite right, referring to a "negative" association. Cause it's more like a "blah" association..."blah, bleh, yea, this just isn't any fun anymore"...like wearing out a toy or something...it's just not as fun as it used to be....it's just not fulfilling at all. It never was fulfilling actually, it's jut that I'm not willing to settle for this unfulfillment anymore. God gave me a vision of something so much better, and since, I just don't want anything else. It's like you may have been poor and eaten bologna and spam your whole life. And you always liked bologna and spam, and you didn't really know you were poor so you didn't really have anything to compare it to. But then one day, you strike it rich and someone serves you your first filet mignon. There's just no going back you know? And even though I haven't tasted the filet yet myself, I've seen the filet, and I've been told a thing or two about the filet, and I'm drooling over it, and I'm just not having anything else. Nice analogy huh? My soulmate's a vegan...lol...and a grade A piece of prime beefcake.

Lori,

Too late - he either never existed or he is most certainly dead.

He's not dead Cris. I wouldn't lie to you. But still, don't take my word for it.

Unless for the 'hotness' of the subject, how can anyone carry on a conversation with a warped intellectually challenged fundamnentalist Xtian?
"Jesus told me so.."
What delusion! I guess this is Darwin at work, that this fool should be celibate. Let those idiot genes die with you. Please.

This is your idea of "hot"? Aww, how pathetic. And this is no delusion. This is being born again, and is very real.

And when me and my soulmate are brought together and have our baby, then you can just spank Darwin's monkey, ok?

Not cute, sad.
Confused.
Ignorant. (masturbation actually increases sperm count)
Deluded.
Please do not reproduce.

That's the problem with delusions - those who have them think they are real.

Well if masturbation increases your sperm count, then wouldn't it stand to reason that having "God sex" with your soulmate would too? And what good is all of that sperm doing if you're masturbating anyway? It's just making a mess in your sock.

Better my 'sock' than 'yours'!
I truly hope that you are sterile.
'God sex'!
Hahahahahaahahahahahahahaahahahahaha.....!!!!

Sounds like you might have problems or are just young. Achieving a balance in all things is a sign of intelligence. The extremes of insatiable addiction or total abstinance are both unhealthy and abnormal. If someone has a strong sex drive then that must be addressed. Some people have virtually none and that is fine too.

Oh please. Just because something exists doesn't mean it must stay there, or that it is good that it is there.

And what is normal? It is only various worldviews, claiming what is normal and what isn't.

Desire is, by definition, insatiable. Any desire.

Christ is not dead.
He's life itself.
An eternal existence.
Without life, there is nothing.
Your self is immortal because it is life, way and truth.
