Mafia 2

Yeah, you're right, Asguard. Maybe the town does have a chance.

At this point, I think Betrayer0fHope is the alien.

one new feature of this game is that i will ATEMPT to keep a list in the first post of who people have voted for. Im not sure if it would be more helpful if i just listed all the votes as they are recived in a list for each player or just each persons current vote but we will give it ago with a list of all the votes each player makes

Shouldn't the night have started by now?

I make the deadline about 5 hours ago now.

your right but i wanted to give people a chance to start chatting so the first day was a little flexable.

I belive i extended it to 9:00 my time (9:30 your time) which is about 5 hours from now but i could be wrong about that

Has the police officer investigated anybody today?

If so, s/he should tell us the result of the investigation.

Since the police officer is definitely a townsperson in this game, there's no reason not to share the results of investigations, as far as I can see.

Of course, we don't know who the police officer is. But could the police officer (whoever you are) please tell Asguard to reveal the investigation results?

As I stagger into town I see a strange light in the sky, I can tell this will be an interesting stay, I say to myself as I lie down for my first night's sleep.

Vote: No Arrest

There's no information to go on as to who might be mafia at this point, so I can't see any option but to vote randomly and hope for the best.

Can other players please vote, because that might give me some idea about which of you are likely to be innocent.

so far the votes for no arest are in the lead, as the mayor i will warn you all this is a dangerious move because it gives the mafia a free shot. That being said its also dangerious to arest people at random because that may reduce the numbers of towns people as well.

the police officer decided for reasons of his own not to releace the results of his investigation today, he may change this decision any time he feels like it.

This is very strange. Why would the police officer not release the results?

If he finds somebody is mafia, then the town has to know to vote that person out.

If he finds out that somebody is innocent, then the town needs to know so they don't vote the innocent person out by mistake.

The mafia already know who are townspeople, so withholding information about innocent people from the town is just silly - it gives the mafia an advantage. And withholding information about who is mafia is even stupider, because the innocent townspeople might vote out one of their own.

Since I'm innocent (obviously), I need to know as much information as possible to help me vote.

So, release the results of your investigation, police officer!

Since we have no information at this point, it is better to arrest somebody at random than to give the mafia a free shot, as you say. Right now, The town's best play is to arrest somebody and hope they are mafia, I think.

By the way, Asguard, are you saying that if a majority of people vote "No arrest" then nobody will be arrested?

I thought that an individual voting "no arrest" just meant that that person didn't want to vote.

I think if the majority vote for an actual arrest should always take precedence over a "no arrest" majority vote. Because it is, after all, in the interests of the mafia to always vote "no arrest".

oddly only 4 people have current standing votes period (including no arest votes)

2 others did vote for someone but retracted that vote which leaves them with no vote (not a no arest vote)

The dead line in GMT is 12:00 GMT which is 6 hours from now.

You should specify the date if your quoting GMT times (which is a good thing to do, I think), because some people may be on the other side of the date line and they need to know which date the time applies to.

In this case, 6 hours from now will be 14 September, 12:00 GMT.

I think the "no arrest" votes should be counted as "I don't want to vote" votes; otherwise the mafia will have an unfair advantage.

That means that right now, as far as I can tell, my vote for BlueMoose should mean that BlueMoose is arrested, because it is currently the majority vote for an actual person.

G33K5 R00L!

Voting me with so weak reasons, no no, so, this is personal ;)

Vote: James R

A new person has arived in town, he is my personal informant
CheskiChips and he is above reproch (ie he is a towns person)

Now this puts him in a bind, you people know you can trust him but it also makes him a mafia target. For now that is the only pecularity about his caricter but latter in the game he will recive hints. These may or may not be reliable and he wont know which
