Right now, I urge the townspeople to vote for BlueMoose, based on his statement that he somehow knows that Challenger78 is not mafia. The only way he can make such a definitive statement is if BlueMoose himself really is mafia and is trying to protect Challenger78.

Post #1 of this thread says the gun shop person is definitely town and not mafia. Of course, we don't know who the gun shop proprietor is.

What we do know is that the mafia won't try to kill the gun shop proprietor early in the game, because they risk having him take out one of them.

If we could reveal roles, it would make a lot of sense for the gun shop proprietor to reveal himself, but that's against the rules...
 
james, actually i find it more stressful running the game because i have to work out hints for people which wont just give the whole thing away.

last time i was trying to manipulate people into voting the way i wanted, i already knew who the mafia were:p

His attack on you made me suspicious too, but you thanking him for changing you vote raises even more suspicions.. what if both of you are mafia.. Where are the other players when you need them ?

Remember people he's the one who started all this suspicion in the first place, instead of reasoning and asking questions like me and BM, were, Others voted No Arrest. I voted him because he started attacking people, and who does that unless they know who to attack ?

Right now, I'm looking at James as Mafia.

Fair enough. But realise that my vote for you was just what you said: random. As an innocent townsperson, I didn't have any information. But the town has to vote somebody out. So, I thought I'd stir the pot.

I'm willing to unvote you if you explain why you suspect me. I'm the one who is vocally trying to nut out who is mafia around here. There are many other quiet people you could vote for.

I'll tell you: if I was mafia, I wouldn't be drawing this much attention to myself. I'd sit back, not engage in too much debate, and let the townspeople vote off whoever they like. I'd only put in my vote at the last minute if it looked like the town was going to vote off one of my mafia friends.

I un-voted him because even if he is potentially Mafia attempting to look like the gun proprietor there's other people who are potentially Mafia. If his actions continue to look suspicious then you have a guarantee. It's more likely (to assume at this time) that people who didn't speak and simultaneously posted frequently in other forums are mafia.

I would want to trust somebody, but its hard. Thanking is suspicious, so if I
vote for you and then unvote you, you wouldnt be grateful about it ?

Somehow this situation is that either James R/Challenger or me is on the spot.
What if we are all innocent and mafia guys are having time of their life watching us stabbing each other.

I suggest we vote somebody whom hasnt posted at all and see what kind of reactions it will make ? We have to vote somebody.

i have been thinking about this and in an effort not to let the mafia exert to much control "no vote"s will act like you havent voted rather than a vote in and of themselves.

Apart from making this it makes the counting easier for me as well

I think we have some mutual paranoia going around here.

How can you hope to find out who the mafia are without registering a vote? It can't be done. The only way to flush out the mafia is to accuse people (by voting), then see what the voting reaction is. The mafia will act to vote off townspeople - especially ones who accuse them.

The best thing is for every townsperson to register a vote. It doesn't matter who you vote for yet, because we don't have much information. Just vote for somebody, and then wait and see what other people do. If the majority vote is going towards a mafia member, suddenly we'll see people changing their votes. But if the vote is going towards a townsperson, then nobody will change their vote because the mafia will be happy.

Tell me, Challenger78. If I unvote you, will you register a vote for somebody else?
