Is money the root of all evil?

I would assume that since evil is a manmade concept that man is the root of all evil
No, money is one of the great things in life.
in a society where we use money to procure goods and services I dont see how it can be bad, you can just as easily donate millions of dollars to educaton as you can fund a drug operation, money isnt evil its how you choose to use it.
plus thats just something poor people say =p

It means I can directly trade for food, clothing etc without having to find a hunter that needs my services to make a direct trade with.
"I'll trade you a 1 hour session for 3 rabbits and a cow".
I don't think it would work out so good. Money is great, it solves that problem.
It is because society says it is plain and simple
Money can buy you a large piece of private land, good food, nice cars. It can prevent most kinds of preventable sadness. Once poverty is eliminated, at least in your own life, you are free to concentrate on what life is really about. Most of my friends that are unhappy would be just fine if they had the money to do what they wanted; to pay off their child support debt, to get a house, to fly around and see their families...

Each to their own, surely? If you ask me I would personally say 'life is about' sex & reproduction, (sometimes you even need money for that
), but money simply makes things handy, whether it is a persons ultimate goal is up to them.D'OH! You beat me to it!
It is a tool. Like many other tools or inventions it gets abused. In this case, banks abuse this tool to control people.
If you believe that it is the root of all that is evil see how far you get without it, will it make you happier? my guess is it would just make you a lot more hungry
What do you mean, wasted? I'm not even going into how to get that money. Surely, a lifetime spent gathering wealth is a waste, but that's just society. Money of itself is a great thing to have.
