Wasn't he already Christian? In everything but name. He believed in Jesus, and all the Jewish prophets...
I think his sister in law was Christian. I don't think he was. Perhaps SAM or someone could clear that up.Wasn't he already Christian? In everything but name. He believed in Jesus, and all the Jewish prophets...

as M*W has already said, no holy book contains any historical figures, however, I would choose Torquemada, take a look at this sick f**ks history, or even Hitler theres another religious sick f**k.why said:If you could erase one religious figure from history, who would it be? and why?
or even Hitler theres another religious sick f**k.

It is stated often by christians that those who never knew jesus would go straight to heaven
Huh?
It's quite simple in that when a christian is asked whether all those people that lived before the time of jesus or those that never got the chance to hear about him would be sent to hell, (the christian would claim that one needs to believe in jesus and his supposed ressurrection in order to be forgiven of their sins blah de blah - which isn't possible for those that died before jesus came about), the christian typically claims that those people, by not having ever heard of jesus, are not destined to hell by not believing in him. In saying, if there never was a jesus, there wouldn't be a problem for everyone that had heard but didn't believe - which is most.
lol, roosevelt was constantly pumped up with drugs, churchill was a drunk, stalin, a lunatic. out of the four one was a Episcopalian, another a lutheran, a third anglican, and the forth non-religious. whether you think Hitler was a junkie or not is irrelevant, but he most certainly was religious.Well Hitler most likely had no belief in God or assumed no accountability for his actions. Some speculation of occult beliefs\numerology are hard to verify but i would not discount those views outright due to drug use that is pretty much accepted as being part of his daily routine. Everything was merely a ruse and for public consumption IOW propaganda.
so basically what you saying is, that any religious despot or evil doer, wasn't religious, is that right.Same for Torquemada in that we can be fairly certain that what was done was for the good of those in power and to keep them there. So basically these were not religious figures.
well perhaps I was a little harsh, because every book of fiction must contain some real references, in order to give it authenicity/realism like place names, and a real king/person here and there. In addition to that i cannot see any reason to assume that religious books would not contain accounts of actual people. Seems logical that they would though.
The Christian hatred of Jews goes back to the writings of Luther and beyond. Why would Christians hate Jews?
The Christian hatred of Jews goes back to the writings of Luther and beyond.
He wrote an influential book:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Jews_and_Their_Lies
In the treatise, Luther writes that the Jews are a "base, whoring people, that is, no people of God, and their boast of lineage, circumcision, and law must be accounted as filth."
They are full of the "devil's feces ... which they wallow in like swine,"and the synagogue is an "incorrigible whore and an evil slut " He argues that their synagogues and schools be set on fire, their prayer books destroyed, rabbis forbidden to preach, homes razed, and property and money confiscated.
They should be shown no mercy or kindness, afforded no legal protection, and these "poisonous envenomed worms" should be drafted into forced labor or expelled for all time. He also seems to advocate their murder, writing "we are at fault in not slaying them."
Its widely held among bible thumpers that God does not hear the prayers of a Jew, because they reject Jesus as the messiah.
