So the parent should be prosecuted if her adult child commits murder?.

peace.

Yes:
He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.
Exodus 34:6-7

or

No:
The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.
Ezekiel 18:20

I guess the Bible is not a good guide after all.

If those children are gaining eternal paradise whats the big deal? once you get to heaven you dont know suffering anymore only appreciation.

Are you mad at god?

peace.

Suffering is still suffering, you could very well be ruined for life. Who could worship a god that treats us like ants?

Try taking some anti-psychotics, if the voice in your head that you think is God goes away then you are just crazy.

those are two very real possibilities. you can either break the chain or not, but the chain is there to be broken or not. i think we're all well aware of the chain, right?

the whole point of this thread is that he may or may not treat us like ants. and god doesn't treat me like an ant.

not that i know what it's like to be an ant...

That's a nice salad bar from which to pick your beliefs.

So now im not supposed to use logic and my brain to pick what scripture is BS and which is genuine?.

You want me to blindly follow like a good christian so im easy fodder for your copy paste arguments?. Access denied you have to use your actual brain to debate me sadly.

peace.

Religion is giving them the cop out, like saying it's OK to own another human being.

if religion didn't something else would, or not, and they'd do what they want anyway.

If you do use your brain to pick which appeal to you, then the only value of the text is as an inkblot (or dare I say cloud) in which you see what you want to see. Doesn't that support the atheist notion that our values are innate, that they predate these texts?
