A Jewish Holiday Worth Borrowing

I don't know, do I? You're an athiest and those are apparently anti-Semite Jews. Who is speaking for Judaism?

im an atheist? why wasnt i informed?

those refuting sources arent good enough for you? so chuuush quote is fake or not?

sam doesnt hate jews. she and i get along quite well, actually.
what she hates is inequality and willful ignorance (at least as far as i see it).

Oh goody, Bran, long time no see those hairy arms. :p

Perhaps you would like to add your knowledge?

What is your input on this debate? There are too many opinions within Jews themselves and without any knowledge of Hebrew its hard to arrive at any conclusions.

As I already said to Spock there, the translation of adamah as people bound by the religion makes sense, since it is similar to inferences to people per se in the Quran.

What is the status of nonbelievers in Judaism?

you came to a conclusion not thatlong ago-that chuuush statement on jews and non jews as beast is accurate.

:) hairier as age catches me.
well, i gave it above....but i was summarily ignored. haha!

the jews see gentiles and nonbelievers as folks to be instructed. they dont even have to be converted, just taught in the methods of living according to the universal dictums inherent in all men:
charity, goodwill, mercy, and wisdom.

thats not to say that all jews live up to these dictums, but that they are supposed to hold themselves to those standards in order to live as an example of righteousness.

did that help at all?

edit: with the exception of fraggle and ricky.

so you are saying i am wrong and adam isnt correct instead of men as a translation and that it does refer to non jews?

The quote is authentic; however, the interpretations of it differ. You must at least concede to that, Spock. You haven't really shed any light on the issue, either, but instead smeared the entire conversation by posting Hebrew texts (which none of us could decipher) and labeled renowned Jews as "incapable" at translating texts. This may be difficult for the likes of you to comprehend, but not every critical assertion of Judaism, Israel, or Zionism is "hateful, anti-Semitic propaganda". Unfortunately for you, most of the sources you consider "anti-Semitic" are composed by Semites themselves. I don't think you even know what side you're on, Spock.

where did i claim that?
all of you are a bit daft on the subject.
and yes, i can say this as i am a practicing jew.

you said im dont know what in talking about. i claimed from the start that chuuush quote is fake. if you are saying im wrong, then you must agree with SAM.

so you are saying i am wrong and adam isnt correct instead of men as a translation and that it does refer to non jews?

ok, first off: ask a straight question without putting words in my mouth, and i would be happy to answer it.

people on the internet arent your enemies because they disagree with you.

Well I assumed when you said you wern't religious, you meant you were atheist.

youre kidding me? im not even religious. i think you just dont understand what im talking about, so you pre judge me. just like you did the last time you pm me.

and you asked everyone right? because according to "those jews", and the torah, there are two thing, the religion, and the people.

and not that i am a religious person, its just you turned this into a theological discussion.

its fair to say i know more then you, since im both jewish and an israeli.

I already said what I thought about chuush's quote. It was a translation the same way the site on the Babylonian Talmud (by rabbis, whom you implied as undercover muslims) was a translation.

Of course, that is a universal dictum in almost all religions.

Why are there so many divergent opinions among rabbis on the Halacha laws about gentiles?

you havent followed all the discussion have you?

so if you support chuush, find me in the disputed text where non jews are considered beasts.

this goes for TDI as well:

instead of making me the subject adress the issue-chuuush quote, fake or not?

im waiting.

Why are there so many divergent opinions among rabbis on the Halacha laws about gentiles?

you know just as well as i do how easy it is to politicize a religion for personal gain.

whoever said what was most popular with the leadership of the local temples would be able to advance that much faster.
