A Jewish Holiday Worth Borrowing

you know just as well as i do how easy it is to politicize a religion for personal gain.

whoever said what was most popular with the leadership of the local temples would be able to advance that much faster.

Yes of course. :D

Thats a given for any authority position these days. Learn to kiss ass.

you havent followed all the discussion have you?

so if you support chuush, find me in the disputed text where non jews are considered beasts.

Oh, I've been following this conversation, amigo - make no mistake about that. What I've witnessed from you, though, is far from impressive: vociferous denial, accusatory remarks of "anti-Semitism" and "Jew hating", and unnecessary mockery and crudeness. Yet, if I look at all of the "evidence" you posted in defense of your argument, I'd be hardpressed to find anything of noteworthy material. The quote chuush referred to certainly is in the Talmud, whether you want it to be or not. No amount of denial or gorilla-esque chanting otherwise will alter this particular reality. As I said, the verse indisputably exists, although its interpretations differ.

is chuuush quote fake or not? you are a practicing jew, you cant answer a simple question?

fake in what sense?
hebrew cannot be translated literally into english. so in that sense, yes it is a falsehood.

did rabbis at the time of the writing think things like this? probably.

ill get my talmud out and check out how i would translate it. give me 5 minutes.

very well then. quote the talmud and compare it to what chuuush said and show me where the word beast is.

ill be happy to see it. it will do you more good then just to personally attack me.

also. if you read what i quoted as refute to what chuuush has quoted, i want you to explain phrase by phrase how its not contradicty with non jew being non human.

fake as in is what he wrote is written there or not.

i translate it as saying "non-men", or "un-men", however you like it.

this does not mean "beast", in a purely literal sense. this would mean "someone who doesnt have a clue about their purpose", in the context.

but again, dont take my word for it. learn hebrew. at least try to before you argue about english translations from hebrew... all of you.

whats the hebrew word there?

so i dont know hebrew you claim?

on another note, i would say that this topic has veered waaaaaay off course, and perhaps a seperate thread should be made if this discussion is to continue.

this thread is about jewish holidays.

"Beast", "non-human", what's the difference? The point is, they're referred to as something other than human, which is enough to offend me. Do you get it now?

it will do you more good then just to personally attack me.

But it's soooo fun! xoxoxoxox

Your arguments have been refuted thoroughly throughout the progression of this entire thread. For me to go back countless pages and individually discredit each of your posts myself in satisfying detail seems like ... well, you know ... a gigantic waste of fucking time!

if you dont have the ability to defend your arguments dont bother to make. if you came here just to moke ill just ignore you-and probably others will follow me as well.

not human doesnt necessarily mean beasts. angles arent considered men either for examples.

so again, the hebrew word in the text?
