I actually read through five pages of this thread trying to find a reference to Kitty Genovese and was rather disappointed not to find a single one.
*tsk tsk*
Here in post 25 and again in 77.
I actually read through five pages of this thread trying to find a reference to Kitty Genovese and was rather disappointed not to find a single one.
what's there to discuss? Something horrible happened in China and people sit here and watch a Faces of Death video of a child getting killed.
I want to know what would compel them to watch it.
Why do people who watch the video (knowing its the death of a child) think they are better than the people who did nothing?
If their very life and limb were in peril and it is something that I am obviously sure about, that I might successfully intervene to prevent loss? :bugeye:But, if you could lose your life savings helping someone, would you? I'd be very wary.
Agreed. I have to admit. I never watched it.why do you want to watch the video? Its a child getting hit by a car. Why would anyone want to see that?
Well, I didn't watch it. All I need to know is that it happened to discuss it. If someone says it happened, and there is documented video evidence, I guess that is good enough for me. I only wonder why the videographer decided to to film it instead of do something about it before it happened. :shrug:what's there to discuss? ...And I don't think it's like watching snuff or kiddie flicks.
why not? Its said that its a child being killed. If it was said it was of a video of a child being raped, would that be ok to watch? A child being raped is worse than a child being killed, therefore it would be wrong to watch it?
That said, some time you have to watch them. Like if you were in court...etc.
yeah, but that's not the case here
Woops.
This is very true. It is also true their society should be shunned as a result.
It has no honour.
Birch:
but this is not anything new. china is undergoing an industrial revolution and in america back in the day these types of things were rampant with exploitation, cutting safety corners etc and all types of corruption as well as polluting the environment.
stupid. honour? so everyone in western countries are honorable? lol. i wouldn't even say half could even be considered truly honorable. really and truly good people are a minority in comparison to just average go-along-with-status quo to make my life easier and get what i want to just corrupt people.
what a load of deluded self-righteous shit.
Fuck you, just a few posts before I said basically the same shit you did, that they are going through the 17th century industrial revolution now. Yes NO Honour in it.
We do not want this to happen again and since China is about to be top dog, we must rebel against it.
So its ok to watch video of a child being run over (an accident) and killed vs someone shooting a child on purpose.
I don't understand why. I really don't.
