So is it just faith in god that allows the opportunity or being good. In other words if I am good but don't believe in god I won't have the opportunity.

If you where already Good then you would not need the opportunity to be redeemed and made Good.
As i said in the former post. Having faith in the Word of God, that is Jesus, puts us in a position where God will make us good in the future. We live now in joyful hope of the coming of our Redeemer Jesus and the Day when we are changed and renewed to our good state of being.

Ok by that standard, which you have clearly laid out, it doesn't matter what I do here on earth, it doesn't matter what kind of person I am here on earth, no matter how good or bad.
All that matters for me to have the opportunity is to believe that Jesus is our savior.
