Why is gun control so difficult in the US?

The only questions that need to be asked are:
  1. What school is next?
  2. How many kids will be killed?
  3. What excuses the USA come up with for inaction on gun control this time?

and...
How many people have been killed, maimed or other wise seriously hurt due to the 2nd amendment and associated paranoia?

I think that it is a valid question actually:
How many gun deaths, maimings and serious injuries have occurred since December 15, 1791 when the 2nd amendment was adopted?
Compare with how many tyrannical governments have been defended against using the same amendment?

We unsuccessfully defended against... our own government once. Generally considered a bad idea. Killed 620,000 people.

Have you by any chance looked into a term called "false equivalence"?
Ever heard of the concept of justification, as in your statement?
My guns can’t even wipe their own butts without me. Leave them alone. Gunphobes.
I’m not sure you have the wherewithal to wipe your own ass, but I'm certain that a gun could be designed with the technical capacity to accomplish the task. Do you possess the mental and physical capacity to swat an incoming hypersonic missile from the sky? Are navies trying to recruit you to defend their ships?

so add all the gun deaths since including those that gun control would not prevent... and what do you get? (since 1791)
I think the number would be incredibly large.
So what is the actual cost of this amendment since inception? Massive!

As an outsider, the only Government deemed tyrannical would be the government that attempts to remove or other wise amend the amendment.
In the 21 century this 2nd amendment is way obsolete IMO.

yes. Ok?

You seem to take issue with my assertion that guns, elephants and people can be configured to posses similar qualities as weapons. Just asking for your reasoning.

So you can wipe your own ass, and this qualifies you to be a close-in weapons system on a navy ship?

Yes, ButterCup.

Ah, thanks. When you equate an elephant to a gun I have to ROFLMAO. Ma Deuce can put 750-850 round a minute in the air. An elephant can get off how many round in a minute?

For once we agree.

None of that has much of anything to do with the 2nd Amendment.

Only one government (lumping subsidiary States) has been defended against using the 2nd Amendment, and the defense has been largely successful* so far - with a major footnote re the Black Panthers and Jim Crow/KKK.

* for whatever reason

Yeah so the South won the civil war then?
