Why is being nude so "wrong"?

i would have to agree with you, my son like i said walks around naked all the time, he hates clothes and his brother and sister just walk around him and ignore it, theres nothing wrong with being naked, he's more comfortable that way, he'll grow out of it when he is ready.

The children thing doesn't bother me so much. But at a certain age I think it starts getting weird. It's the WHOLE FAMILY walking around naked I find disturbing.

absolutly! you have to know when to cover up! i wont allow my children in my bedroom while i am dressing because thats my preference

There is too much nudity on American t.v (cable) it is just gratuitous and take away from the story and before you know it all you need to do is put up images of naked people and it's just brain dead media. Just like euro. commercials they are selling SEX...dont kid yourself. And in Europe they dont walk around the streets naked, a beach is much different because there are loads of people, what would be on your mind if you got into an elevator with 3 hot babes and everyone was naked? See the problem:p

You think there is too much nudity on AMERICAN tv?!?!?!? Then you obviously have NEVER been to Europe, or atleast watched European television. There are game shows in Germany, France, Hungary, Ireland, and a few other countries I've been to where people get naked as part of the game. Full fledged non-censored buck naked. I use to see them as a kid when I lived in Frankfurt for 2 1/2 years.

Furthermore, do not misconstrue my words. I never said people walk around the streets nude. I said its not uncommon to see children playing in the streets at a fountain nude.

Mt ex gf thought there was no problem going to a male gyno. and i informed her that this was not good, and she called me a pervert:rolleyes:.

Are you for real? You told your ex gf that her going to a male gyno was not good?

What is wrong with a male gyno? My gyno is male and my husband would never even dream of telling me it "was not good". Hell when I was pregnant with my first child my obstetrician was a male and he was the absolute best. That man has seen me in every sense of the word. There's nothing wrong with it. He's a doctor. I never even once thought anything about it, even when he was checking how dilated I was and my husband was sitting there holding my hands as I breathed through the contractions, etc. Good grief John.. maybe your ex was right.

Oh, ok S.A.M. How would you look at it if your bf went to a real nice looking female doctor to look at his private parts every few months?
Oh my god! LOL! You're a riot!

Do you think the doctor is sitting there getting aroused as he gives your gf a pap-smear?:bugeye:

My husband's doctor is a woman and a very attractive one at that. She's lovely and one of the best GP's I have ever seen. I would think nothing of it if he had to be examined by her every couple of months. I didn't think anything of it when she checked his prostate. Just as he thinks nothing of my going to my male gyno for my check-up's. Ya, real sexual tension there.. Do you even know what goes on during one of those exams John? I can't imagine one of the least times when sex would even enter the mind.

what do you think of Orleanders 9 yr old daughter being very much "nudie" as she said. In the company of her 13 yr old brother? who just apparently stopped streaking around. Do you find that fine?
Good grief shorty, they're just kids and siblings.

You all sexualise nudity. I just don't understand that. Being nude is not sexual.

Being nude is not sexual? It sure is way beyond stasnding there with clothes on. So you would trust you husband alone, naked with an attractive women just to have a discussion? At some point you are going to get concerned, its just a matter of what that point is. Guess you would not sexualise the nudity huh?

I was only like 23-25 at the time anyway, but thats not really for me. An obstertrition is different but it would be much nicer to have a woman and what is the big deal? A woman that looks like Shirley Jones, with a nice smile and clean hands. Female gynecologists need to work too. And you said your husbands doctor was lovely, i think you really mean homely.

Why would I be concerned if he did? Something like that is based on trust John. Maybe you should try it.

His GP has seen him naked lots of times. It's her job. Sometimes he has to undress and be examined by her. There's nothing wrong with it. Do you think a female nurse or doctor should not treat naked male patients? Give them bath's and what not?

I was only like 23-25 at the time anyway, but thats not really for me.
I would say it is not for you to decide, one way or the other. If she felt comfortable with her male gyno, then it really is none of your business. If it's not for you, then don't go and see one. But he was her doctor and you really had no say in it.

An obstertrition is different but it would be much nicer to have a woman and what is the big deal?
Exactly, what is the big deal... either way. I had a woman obstetrician for my second child and she nearly killed the both of us. Only reason I went to see her was because the male obstetrician who delivered my first child was away on holidays.

Why do you think it would be nicer to have a female gynecologist? Do you think a woman would provide more idle chit chat during the examinations? More comfort? John, a pap-smear involves using a speculum. And nothing, not the sex of the doctor or any chit chat that might be unfortunately be occurring, could make that 'nicer' or more comfortable. In no way is it sexual. It's usually a case of get it done as quickly as possible due to the absolute discomfort the woman feels during the examination. I've had friends who went to see female gynecologists and have complained about how rough they are during the pap-smear and how male gynecologists are a bit more careful about not causing them pain. I've never seen a female gynecologist, so I can't really compare. Seriously though, it's their job. They don't get a sexual high from it. I would imagine having to examine the cervix's of women on a daily basis, and having to tell some of them that they might have cancer, etc, on a daily basis would make it one of the least 'sexual' jobs out there.

A woman that looks like Shirley Jones, with a nice smile and clean hands.
Who is Shirley Jones? And I would expect every doctor to have clean hands.

Female gynecologists need to work too.
I'm not saying they don't. I'm just saying that going to a male gynecologist is no big deal at all. Unless you believe in some antiquated and backwards belief that women should only ever see or be examined by a female doctor.. much like the do in many fundamental Islamic countries.

Or do you think that men should not be allowed to become gynecologists?

And you said your husbands doctor was lovely, i think you really mean homely.
You think too much and outside the realm of reality John. She's actually a very pretty and attractive woman. As I said, she is lovely.

Oh my god! LOL! You're a riot!

Well in my opinion its okay for "kids" siblings to run around naked, esp if they are the same sex. Now where I find it getting weird is around the teenage yrs. I don't care if they are siblings or not, I think it's weird for lets say a brother 16-17 and sister14- 15 are running around naked. Do you not draw a line at a certain age where you find it not suitable anymore? And I really have an issue about The WHOLE FAMILY running around naked.

Not really no. I was an only child but I had lots of cousins. Nudity was never an issue for us growing up and in our teenage or early adult years.

There was never anything sexual about it. If I was in the bathroom and they were over, they used to come in and chat while I showered and vice versa. It is when you attribute nudity with sex that an issue can develop. I grew up to feel comfortable in my own skin. I am not uncomfortable with nudity and neither are those I grew up with. We do not see it as being something sexual and because we are not sexual with each other... for lack of a better term.

Its not uncommon to see the Naga ascetics in India like this:

Anyone think this is sexual?

I once witnessed an Indian ritual in which a line of Sadhus filed past a group of village women, who would try to arouse these men with their hands.

A spiritual test to see if they could still be tempted by the pleasures of the flesh.

Incidentally, Indian women seem to be the least shocked by male nudity. I read an account once of a man who was sexually addicted to flashing, who wrote that he could not practise his fetish in India...where the women would only laugh!

Yeah, thats right, I always laugh.:D

Bells, I'm so glad you're here adding some sanity.

Shorty, lighten up, you're sounding really prudish.

And yes, the rest of the world has been rolling its eyes for years at the level of embarrassment in American culture revolving around nudity, swearing and sex.

It's a running joke that in the U.S you can freely show brutal murders in full detail but a bare nipple, OMG, we're freakin' out, we're freakin' out!
