What's with the headrush?

I haven't had any today though...I was a good girl and stayed away from what my mum not so ironically calls 'Essence of Diabetes' :D

It's not actual dizziness though, just a headrush specifically when standing.

Headrush from standing are almost always caused by low blood pressure. Or more generally it takes a bit longer for the blood circulating efficiently again, after you have sit (or lie) down (blood settles down and the flow has to increase when you stand up).
Caffeine may let your heart pump faster and thus let it flow better again. But although it is not a diuretic (as it was believed) a number of conditions (like Morbus Meniere) have been associated with extreme caffeine consumption.
 
No it would be a secondary effect of adrenaline, of course. But it would be quite different as in this case the the blood flow would be increased, so the rush would be kind of the reverse from what was initially described.
