No, it isn't better. In your country, all the government has to do is not certify people for gun ownership until one day, with all the citizens disarmed, they can begin to take more and more of your freedoms until you have no freedoms left.

Somehow, people like you have the misguided idea that "the government" is somehow a completely benevolent, perfect "thing" ....when it's really just made up of greedy, hateful, ordinary humans.

Almost no one owns a gun here. I think it must be less than 1%, excluding gun carrying police officers of course.

Well, that's not true.. I dislike much about the government. But I do think that the majority of the people in the government believe they are doing the right thing. And on many cases I think they actually do. Also, they can never satisfy everyone.

Edit: "People like you" ? Come on dude.
 
I think they should distribute more guns in the country. Clearly everyone needs a gun to protect themselves.

So one day the government decides to do something that no one wants or likes ....what can the people do about it? Only the cops and the miitary have guns or weapons ....what can the people do against them?

I know you're going to say something like, "Oh, they'd never do that!" But I think Nazi Germany is a damned good example of exactly that. It happened before, it can happen again.

Do you know anything about our political system ? What you are describing is virtually impossible in our country.

Baron, perhaps you should be comparing your own system to a Nazi fascist one. You'd be closer to the truth anyway..

A socialist society has to be enforced on the citizens, it doesn't come naturally. There's a whole lot of forcing people to do this and not do that that is inherently required for it to work. Therefore it's fascist.
Every socialist society ever had an idealistic dictator at the helm.

A free society naturally leans strongly away from socialism, humans aren't ants, they're instinctually tribal, and loosely tribal, rather individualistic in fact. Socialism is set up like an ant colony but humans as animals don't naturally act with the good of the colony in mind, they'd need to be forced to align to a leader's socialist ideals. Socialism is merely a breed of fascism, as a concept it is entirely contained within fascism.
