Are you sure you aren't one of the anti-socials? Ya'know there are a lot of them around, gaslighting everyone.I didn’t vote for Trump and I’m allowed to post a question. Your need to assign a nefarious motive to my asking a question is odd.
I’ve been discussing this with friends and they shared much of what you have here and I’ve also found information countering what I initially heard. I’ll watch Fox News at times - as well as other networks. I think it’s good to listen to everyone’s point of view, not just those who agree with mine.
Lol I see what you did there. Are you sure you aren't one of the anti-socials? Ya'know there are a lot of them around, gaslighting everyone.
To the one you say you didn't vote for Trump but there is a certain fondness for him implied in your comments. To the other, 'twist you and me, you rarely raise questions about the right.
Twas a time, long ago, when I pondered such imponderables, neigh incongruous facts, and as Kafka illustrates in "The Trial" such imponderables are routinely around us lest we forget and yet are they really? I don't know...yes I do and so, you too.
They aren't banned. Why are observers being banned or kept far away from those counting the mail in ballots in some parts of PA and Detroit?
Huh?Adding to this, there does seem to be a lack of transparency - poll watchers from both parties should be allowed to oversee the counting of ballots. (And that’s not happening, apparently) That makes me question the integrity of our system. Counting mail in ballots isn’t unfair or unethical, but pausing vote counting ON Election night, and finding piles of ballots days after Election Day seems odd.
Trump or Biden asking for a recount of mail in ballots is well within their rights, so maybe that needs to happen with observers from both parties.
Asking for a recount is quite a different matter. That is perfectly reasonable, if the results are sufficiently close that minor errors could make the difference. It’s interesting you suggest that because there have been clips showing some of the monitors kind of lurking about and I can see where it would feel unsettling by those handling the ballots. If they stood any closer, they’d be breathing on them! Lol
That said, if Biden or Trump were to ask for a recount in certain states, it’s within their rights to do so. But, Trump seems to be taking that to an entirely different level.
It’s been an eye opening look at the election process, for sure.
What would not be reasonable would be demanding a recount when there is no realistic chance that it will alter the result, as a pretext for stringing out the process to give time to whip up conspiracy theories, discredit the electoral process and encourage street violence. Now who would do that, I wonder?
Yes, it comes down to whether you embrace a conspiracy or cockup view of all this, I suppose. On the one hand it may be a carefully constructed plan to subvert the election, worthy of a Blofeld, or it could just the final spasms of a dying Trump campaign, as the last loyal people try to enact the crazy orders of a madman stuck in denial, before the lights finally go out: A Hitler in his bunker sort of thing.Law enforcements, journalists, academics, et al have rightly used the phrase "domestic terrorism" in describing actions far less insidious than these, I've been wondering for a long while when people will finally come around and acknowledge the behaviors of Trump and Trumpians as such. I mean, I suppose descriptions such as "childish tantrums" and the like are accurate, but they come across sounding far more innocent than what we are actually witnessing.
You've heard of Sinclair Media? That network and its fellow-travelers in state government have woven a coherent, self-consistent web of unreason, ravelled up from their audience's fears and loathings. Have you listened to the 'opinion' of Trump cultists? He embodies and acts out their own inner toddler.Yes, it comes down to whether you embrace a conspiracy or cockup view of all this, I suppose. Because the evil clown is wearing a clown suit, it's easier to see the clown than the evil. Most Americans are probably ignorant of two thirds of the harm this administration has already done and blissfully unaware of the harm they still intend. Even apparently bright, knowledgeable people are still trusting that "the system" or foundations of democracy, the constitution, bill of rights, the law and separation of powers is robust enough to withstand a bad president. They don't seem to have noticed, or dare not admit, how many of the pylons were sawn through by previous bad presidents and how many more this one had knocked out.Law enforcements, journalists, academics, et al have rightly used the phrase "domestic terrorism" in describing actions far less insidious than these, I've been wondering for a long while when people will finally come around and acknowledge the behaviors of Trump and Trumpians as such. Agree. Even Trump’s aides (think: those who are closest to him and always by his side) are telling him that recounting votes in a few battleground states probably won’t make a difference because of Biden’s overall lead. That’s such a poignant statement because it shows that Trump perhaps is in denial that Biden could gain so much support, (without cheating). I think that might be what he is most upset about?Asking for a recount is quite a different matter. Again, agree. I haven’t watched the news today yet but the last time I checked, Trump was interested in a few of the battleground states where the margins are tighter. So, if he was winning by a small margin, would he be upset if Biden wanted a recount? Hmm. Think we know the answer to that. What would not be reasonable would be demanding a recount when there is no realistic chance that it will alter the result, as a pretext for stringing out the process to give time to whip up conspiracy theories, discredit the electoral process and encourage street violence. He is upset because he's a bully who isn't getting his way. He's going to throw a temper tantrum. Don't be surprised if he tries to burn everything down on his way out the door.Agree. I agree that he’s a bully, but it’s almost like he’s in shock that he didn’t win by a landslide or something. It’s really going to be interesting in a cringe kind of way to see what happens when Biden is announced the official winner, and a Trump refuses to concede. This is like a real life House of Cards. He is upset because he's a bully who isn't getting his way. He's going to throw a temper tantrum. Whatever, as I expected, the excuse for the strange curve are ignored worldwide, and people are making fun of it:
Another popular topic for jokes are those "voting dead":
My brother, a fairly right-wing city lawyer in London, expressed similar sentiments a couple of days ago:Trump has been setting up this scenario for months.
He has been claiming that mail in ballots are fraudulent for months and months. He put that seed of thought into the minds of his voters. Something that was taken for granted previously suddenly became something wrong and insidious and designed to take away their Trump by 'cheating' and 'fraud'.
That has been his schtick for months now.
And he lit that powder keg the moment the polls closed and they finished counting the votes posted that day and then started to count the early votes and the mail in ballots that had arrived prior to November 3rd.. And he immediately came out and demanded they stop counting the votes as it would be fraudulent to keep counting. They weren't even counting votes that had arrived after the polls closed at 8pm. He was going after pre-votes and votes already received before the election. And the reason for that is simple. He knew in Pennsylvania, for example, GOP voters were flooding in to vote on the day. And the numbers that night corresponded with that. The moment they started the early votes and mail in ballots already received, Biden's numbers shot up, because Democrat voters pre-voted and voted by mail by a massive margin.. So he demanded they stop counting clearly legitimate votes by even the definition he was screeching about.
Suddenly even those votes are now "fraud".
And his supporters buy it.
And it's not his last loyal people who are staying with him as he rants like a madman. Have you noticed how few from the GOP have come out against him? There's a few reasons for this. The main one is that they do not want to anger his voting base, those tens of millions who turned out to vote for him.. Ted Cruz and Nikki Whateverhernameis have come out parroting his words. Not because they believe him, but because they are eyeing 2024 and they will need those voters to support their push for the White House. Lack of proper support for dear leader incurs the wrath of his followers. And Trump's son called out members of the party for not vocally supporting their father enough.. Some fell into line right away. Some others just spoke out the corner of their mouths and pretended nothing was happening.
But the others remain silent. His kids are encouraging it because they lose if their father loses the election. All that influence, power they wielded goes out the window.
And Trump would rather burn the entire house down than admit he lost.
A part of me hopes he refuses to leave the White House and refuses to concede. The damage is already done. I want this evil son of a bitch to suffer the indignity of being escorted out of the White House. 220,000 dead and hundreds of children still missing.. He deserves it.
Heads on pikes, even, along with Fauci.Despite all the Putin hacking Biden's still in the lead, one can't possibly ask for more definitive proof of Democrat cheating. Such treason should be severely punished by the strictest of measures.
