Anybody have any idea what this is please?
It appears to be some sort of pocket pen torch with the clip and it does have bulbs at both ends. The left hand side has a button switch I presume is on/off and the section can be detached with a quarter turn. Has a key hole type of attachment arrangement
The bottom end, I'm calling bottom from the clip orientation, flips open and there is a bulb in the body of the item
The small detached part has two screws which I'm guessing allows access to the battery inside the detached part
The large section shows two srews and again guessing allows access to the battery inside the large section for the bulb under the flip lid
Have no idea or memory of when, where or how I acquired it and apart from guessing it some sort of pocket torch the oddness of its construction has me baffled
Anyone who can enlighten me as to its purpose please do - thanks

What is so odd that is baffling you?
Possible but doubtful. I've not seen it turned on since the battery is lifeless but the bulbs look like those ones with a clear magnifying tip of clear glass
Its construction. Why does it have a small detachable part at one end? Why the odd key method of attach / detach? Why a bulb at both ends? Why the bottom bulb is under a flip up cover? Why is there there no plug in socket to recharge the battery inside? Why do you need a screwdriver to dismantle both parts to replace the batteries inside each part?

Is the battery built-in or is it replaceable? What kind is it? Are you sure it's rechargeable? Is the bulb on the bottom just a spare bulb?
Does the "front" have a reflector and does the main bulb go though the cutout to go into the reflector?
Do you have any way of making it work? Put in new batteries or recharge the old one?

Apparently yes built in - no idea if replaceable - might be of an specialist type made just for this item and reorder as required

The cut out, I takes it you mean this, is at the base of the small section and attaches to the main section with the key on the main section

Already addressed battery issue. Going to do a bit more take apart and lashed out $12 for the tools
If I undo those screws and find to much corrosion I'll throw it away. It looks to over engineered to be just a pencil torch so the mystery of exactly what it is remains

OK I pulled it apart and it got a little bit weirder
No sign of any sort of battery inside, The long screw (2) screws into (1)
When the screw was removed was able to push through a hole above 3 and the innards slid out
Now does not want to go back together plus was a faint mist coming off 1
1 did not feel hot to touch, no smell of burning
Please anybody what is it? It is now 1//2 passed midnight and I'm going to bed hoping to get answers when I wake up

Somebody thought it was a good idea at the time. Since nobody else has seen one, it appears to be a failed invention that didn't catch on. (The rest of the first production run is sitting in the back of a warehouse in China.)
Don't think it is an invention as such ie I think it was made for some specific purpose

It is a butane-powered torch.
The white vessel is the butane reservoir. The "mist" was escaping butane.
It has a refill valve next to the "key":
Nozzle:
It is difficult to determine what functions it has without further clarification.
It could be a butane flashlight.
It could be a heat gun.
It could be a combination flashlight and butane lighter.
Questions still unanswered:
Some of these possibilities seem to be mutually exclusive. If the parabolic dish serves as a mantle, then it couldn't also be a reflector dish for the LED at the same time, because the LED would melt. However, the modular design seems to hint that it could be reconfigured to either LED mode or butane mode as-needed.
