The Picture Thread Mark III

Coffin joe. That was it. Lovely nails. Wonder where he gets his manicure....
Heh.

Anyway.
So. Does the song mean anything?
Obviously talking about living in a shitty place.
Stuck in the slums. That's a typical Sepultura sentiment.

The trilogy of:
"Ze do caixao.
Zumbi.
Lampiao."
Seems rather interesting.

What's interesting about the lyrics is that there are no verbs.
It's almost like reading ancient babylonian cuneiform. Like the verbs need to be supplied by the reader. I suppose in this case, perhaps the verbs are supplied by the emotive singing and music?
Hmmm.

You know.
Speaking of portugeuse music. Now I'm being reminded of the Aguas de Marco.
It almost has a similar style... In a way. Not really I guess. In the Waters of March everything 'is' something. But, the effect caused by stitching words together in a form of auditory collage is similar.

Anyway:
or if your package is too big

Nice.

the black album was when metallica started to suck look at them now, short haired faggots

But their makeup is so lovely. It accentuates their eyes.
Heh.
Yeah. The sad thing is that it was actually One that began the end of Metallica. One was widely accepted by the mainstream. The first video. We all thought it was so cool back then... (Yeah. I was in high school back then. An old man.) But it turned out to be their death knell.
Then the Black album came out, and it actually had a few cool tunes. But after that... garbage.
Load. Then... oh the leap of imagination... Reload.
I'm waiting for their christmas album.
And. Of course. The sheer outrage and gall of them rereleasing Garage Days as Garage Inc. The 5.98 EP transformed into this high price piece of crap.
Sad. They used to mean something back in the day.
That's what you get for having ideals though. Never place your faith in anyone or anything but yourself.
That's what I've learned down the line...
Crap. I'm trying not to be bitter. Forgive.

Where was I?

megadeth > metallica

Meh. Megadeth isn't all that great anymore either. To be honest, I haven't heard their latest stuff, but pretty much lost interest after So Far So Good...
Dave forgave Metallica and pussed out.
He had a kid too, I think. That takes the piss out of you.

Heh.
I remember the old days of the Headbanger's Ball where he'd tear Rikki Rachtman a new asshole. Those were the days...
God. I'm so old.

Isn't zumbi also that brazillian slave rebel?

If so, that would tie in nicely.

of course, how could i have forgotten that... zumbi was a slave that escaped from the farm where he worked and created a hidden village for run away slaves in the woods (a quilombo, his was called quilombo de palmares)... he was eventualy hunt down and killed, along with all the other slaves, and palmares was destroyed

yes, i think the song is pretty much about livingin a shit place... every brazilian has a bit of that anger...
but the brazilian way, something that we call "jeitinho", which would mean someting like "we can fix it", keeps us going

it makes a lot more sense if you think of zumbi ans the creator of palmares

interesting... to think of it, when i heard this song live and sang along with the rest of the stadium i clear impression of outrage coming from everyone... BIBOCAAA FAVELAAAA MALOCAAA WE LIVE IN A SHITHOLE PORRAAA
:p

yes... i guess it is similar in the sense that they don't mean anything until you get the feeling from the music

it's pretty sad... they're one of these bands that should have stopped a long time ago and they'd have kept their dignity.... oh well we can still remember the times of glory

Meh. Megadeth isn't all that great anymore either. To be honest, I haven't heard their latest stuff, but pretty much lost interest after So Far So Good...

hehehe, you know what megadeth fans say, don't you? metallica started to suck when they ran out of dave's riffs :p
just make one little experiment, compare st. anger to the system has failed... i rest my case

I remember the old days of the Headbanger's Ball where he'd tear Rikki Rachtman a new asshole. Those were the days...
God. I'm so old.

i guess you are

:p

metallica vs megadeth ?
Metallica has more classic songs I think, but megadeth goes further into the
realms of futuristic grinding guitar noises.

The question is - who came up with the lyric "mmrrrah!!!!"? Both singers sure made a lot out of mmrahh.

Really though, I am more interested in queens of the stone age vs. outkast right now. That is the relevant battle. I'm watching it on pay-per-view later.

Good to see you back invert. I've missed you so much. :p

Indeed, you were missed Invert. Missed very much. The total IQ here drops a few points when you are gone.

Where ya been?

Nice pics by the way. Looks like the kind of friends I hang out with. Are those Bonobo's? Very interesting social structure, those monkeys.

Pink Floyd makes me very sad. I had a boyfriend once who played them all the time, including playing along with on his guitar for me. He died very young, much too soon. Their songs always remind me of my first love, and how special he was. Ah, memories. Wish I could listen to them, I remember how great their music was.

Varda,

I agree with you about Metallica and Dave Mustaine. But instead, we got two great bands and many great albums instead of one... so things sometimes work out in an interesting way. Though I do have a bootleg around here somewhere of all of them together before the split, at the Whiskey. The sound quality is really bad, and I no longer own a cassette player. I have a particular soft spot for Iron Maiden myself. I can't explain why.

Hmm.
And here I thought you didn't like me.
But, then again, even those we don't like are part of the extended family, yes?

Where ya been?

Dying. But, it's ok. A little death every now and again never killed anyone. I'll survive yet. And look! I'm Coffin Joe now!
Muahaha!!

(I suppose you could say Biboca favela Maloca. Porra!)

Nice pics by the way.

I'm a hunk. Yes?
Better than Avatar even?
Avatar's just a boy. I'm a man. Beard and all.

Which are the friends you hang out with? The ones drinking beer? Or the apes?
I think they're orangutan's actually. Bonobos are basically chimps with a hair-do.

The parted hair is their signature, I believe.

As to the other pic... yeah. Imagine going to the zoo to see the 'monkeys' and getting a nice porn show instead. By the way, I didn't take it. Scavenged it off the net somewheres.

Wish I could listen to them, I remember how great their music was.

Bit torrent is a wonderful thing. I've got 11 albums. Not quite the complete set. But most of them.

I have a particular soft spot for Iron Maiden myself.

Iron Maiden has that sort of... 'aquired taste' thing going. The voice is... sorta weird. But it fits... somehow.

Anthrax is similar in the way the voice of the singer is weird but fits the music.

Me, not like you? Since when?

Now I'm thinking that you don't know who I am after all. Shame really.

Not to mention, it's the idiots I can't stand. The intelligent ones are the ones I care for, nasty or nice.
