When people make an insurance claim the insurer invariably checks to see if the claimant has incurred the loss through his own contributory negligence and if so refuses to pay the claim. Insurance actuaries are paid handsomely to estimate the risks so the insurer does not incur avoidable losses. Your post flies in the face of that sound logic and invites us to believe that these insureres would pay out for avoidable losses. The premise is ludicrous besides being illogical.

By the way, the President of Ford at the time was Lee Iacocca, who was of Italian descent.

It was not negligent to buy a Ford Pinto at the time. It's not like every Pinto blew up, and it's not like every non-Pinto didn't.

In grade school Lee came face to face with ethnic intolerance. He was looked down on because he was Italian. He also had two Jewish friends that were treated even worse than he was.
