Sounds of ghosts from abandoned insane asylum

An out of tune piano was heard, and also a little girl whispering.

Before entertaining any paranormal occurence, we should know if the people who are making the claim were sober. If they were high, intoxicated, etc...that would definitely discount the story, for me. Not saying that's the case with the original topic of this thread, but it just makes me wonder in various cases I've read about. Plus, a common theme that seems to run true with many people who claim to have witnessed the paranormal, is they have been or are under extreme mentral duress. And, in many cases, have had abusive childhoods. There are exceptions of course, but it's just something I've noticed, and now ''look for,'' when I'm reading about claims of the paranormal.

Note also he said the microphone picked up the voice as coming from all around it. He said that technically that was impossible.

You got that right. Some people just can't handle the unknown happening in their universe. That's why they get so emotional about this stuff. Something's deeply at stake here for them. As if the very possibility of the strange and anomolous would shatter their neat logical little world.

Irony.

Faked. These same folks just so happen to have an active Kickstarter campaign at the moment, attempting to fund their work. Something like this is (obviously) great press.

Ahhh...that could be, yes.

Ok, don't judge me...but ...don't people feel 'bad' when they fake claims of the paranormal to gain fame/money? :( I would feel awful having fooled people like that, tbh.

That's because you're probably a decent human being.

My thing is...I'm open minded to it, but I try to be pragmatic about it all, as well. Has there ever been a paranormal claim that you totally thought was bullshit? :D If so, can you share it here?

Just seems to me, there's more worthwhile ventures in life, than wasting one's time faking a 'ghost adventure' in order to make a few bucks. lol

Yes, I noticed that, too.

But, why do we presume that this ''figure'' can only be seen on film? So, this supposed ''space man'' was standing in the background, illuminated...and no one saw it? If no one saw it, why was the image captured on film?

And, what are people claiming it to be, who believe the story? A ''space man?''

Well with paranormal phenomena photos often capture images that aren't seen with the naked eye. So whatever it is, it might be along those lines. A being whose visual frequency can only be captured in freezeframes of a fraction of a second. As for WHAT it is? I don't know. Interdimensional? OR..maybe just the mother after having worked out on steroids all day. Guess we'll never know for sure.

Wanderers with musical instruments are not exactly unknown. Nor are girls with high voices (or cell phones that can access any sound). If I was wandering through an abandoned insane asylum and came across a recording device, I would also make strange noises, just to mess with people.

That's silly, and pseudoscientific. Let's hear a reason why something paranormal will show up on film but not to the human eye, which is a much higher resolution.

Honestly, though? Why did this pic get so much attention? It looks stupid. lol

Maybe it was you, mystery solved. ;)

Oh yeah. I catch the bullshit all the time. One big one is people who see faces in windows, mirrors, lighting and mist. I hate that shit. This is a known tendency of humans called paradolia. Another biggie I dismiss is when the audio recording is obviously just some white noise that people twist to be human speech. It's very easy to listen to a sound, have someone say the word it is saying, and then actually hear that word. It's another case of perceiving what you want to perceive. Others I tend to doubt? Being touched. People in haunted settings are on high alert. The slightest brush of their own clothes, or a twitch of their muscles, could easily be mistaken for being touched. I also don't like when they ask questions and a barely turned off flashlight turns on to confirm yes or no. What's happening there could be random arcing between the bulb and the copper plate attached to the battery. So see? I'm not a total dufus about this stuff! I WANT them to discount the natural and the mundane so we don't waste our time wondering if it was paranormal or not. Get on with the good stuff I say!

Couldn't be explained. The guys who developed the photo asked Jim who the spaceman was in the background. From there it just sort of took off. Obviously the guy who took it believes it's something strange. After the news broke he was even visited by two men in black in a jaguar who went out to the site with him and asked him strange questions about the reactions of animals and if he actually saw the figure. When he said no they just got in their car and drove away. Weird things like that.

Wanderers with pianos? Don't think so bucko. Try again..

That is what is more mind boggling than the photo itself. That anyone would think this stupid looking photo is newsworthy, blows my mind. lol

Why is it stupid? Don't you think the possibility of alien beings showing up on film is intriguing?

The reason I find it stupid, and contrived, is that it looks like the imagination of someone of that time period (60 years ago?) ...his 'version' of what a 'space alien' might look like. An alien looks like a human being wearing a white snow suit with a helmet? lol It's just stupid to me, and if such a photo were produced today, people would assume it was photoshopped.
