Sounds of ghosts from abandoned insane asylum

Balerion always becomes a smartass prick when he knows he's losing the argument. It just gets uglier and uglier with every desperate post he makes. That's why there's a point where I just break off. Then he'll accuse me of running or woosing out or some such juvenile taunt. Standard loser tactics..

Don't sweat the small stuff. ;)

Lol, ok. Fair enough.

Funny. When I said that I was open to evidence, I'm operating under some sort of unfair bias. But when he says it, we get "Lol, ok. Fair enough." Odd, that.

Your arguments rely on straw men and ignorance. You actually asked me to disprove a negative. Who's desperate, exactly?

Saying evidence is faked is a positive assertion that shouldn't be too hard to prove. The fact that you can't even do that shows how untenable your position really is. "Oh it's fake!" "But how do you know?" "I just know it is. And I don't have to prove it."

And I posted I'd look for some well documented cases for your review, like a page back. (Not like I'm dismissing your stance.)

You should (at least) "try" ...to not say condescending things during your debates. You don't need to because your points are all worthy of exploration on their own merit and frankly, you lose your audience when you choose to employ those tactics. For what it's worth, food for thought.

So, in reviewing some articles about research being done (''scientifically'') to ''proving'' that the paranormal may or may not exist, I ran across another article talking about The Fermi Paradox. I understand what The Fermi Paradox presents, but it was described in the article as being used to 'debunk' the existence of the paranormal. Pretty fascinating, to say the least.

So, I became curious, and decided to look further into The Fermi Paradox, and ran across this article. It is seriously so cool, think you all will find it interesting, and relevant to the discussion.

And you should try to be honest when the debate isn't going your way. I was perfectly civil until you and your buddy decided to start slinging mud and casting aspersions. Once you start misrepresenting my position, or making unfair insinuations, I no longer have a reason to treat you with respect. I know, I know--you want to be able to dish it out without getting anything in return. Well, too bad.

Not to get back into this again...but...you do have a bias.

And you should try to be honest when the debate isn't going your way.

I was offering you a plausible rebuttal(s), in a genuine way. But, ok.

I was perfectly civil until you and your buddy decided to start slinging mud and casting aspersions.

''Decided.'' lol Like a conspiracy?
You're being dramatic. I didn't mud sling. (as that's not my style) I wouldn't suggest for you to not mud sling, but I do it. Truly, I don't care for that type of debate 'style,' because it leads nowhere productive.

Oh my. You make unfair assessments often, Balerion.
BUT...ok, fair enough.

lol Pot stirrer!

Did you read the link above, relating to The Fermi Paradox? Hmmm?

Yeah..I was already familiar with it. Really..where ARE all the aliens? Maybe they're watching us to make sure we don't kill each other. Would be nice..

Speaking of, have you ever seen the famous Solway Firth space alien photo. Really weird.
See below..

Apparently, all one has to do to have this "bias" is not believe in the paranormal. I mean, you haven't explained what this bias is or how it manifests, so that's all I have left to assume.

I was offering you a plausible rebuttal(s), in a genuine way. But, ok.

No, you were offering broken analogies and lying about my position.

''Decided.'' lol Like a conspiracy?

I think you need to take a long look in the mirror.

It seems like a hoax?

''The video does indeed show the chair moving. Although, unfortunately for Lisa, it’s not quite possible to see the chair’s base and ascertain if anything — like a thread, or a stick, or a magnet — could, just possibly, be propelling it.''

Hmmmm! I'm open minded, Magical...but, this story doesn't seem credible.

You're doing it wrong. Belief in the paranormal isn't about scrutinizing evidence or exploring all possible explanations; it's about faith. It's about a desire for the weird to be true. You have to take things wholly at face value, otherwise you'll never accept it.

C'mon, wegs. Shut off that critical mind and just let the paranormal wash over you!
