Should prostitution be legalised? yes or no!!

Some will. Not all. Does everyone buy the most expensive object in a store because it's 'better', or do some go with cheaper versions?

well if the more expensive item isnt going to cause an STD they would surely go for the expensive option!!

THANK YOU!!
But apparently you need studies and reports to back it up. Common sense just doesn't seem to apply anymore.

The question was, should prostitution be legalized and I said yes. I stated my reason why. Didn't know I'd grouched at for it. :p

i think it should be legalised for the simple reason it will get MOST of the girls of the streets and they will ahve to have regular tests to make sure they are well and clean and also they will be safer, the place where i worked (NOT has a prostitute) was a lovely place the girls were safe and so were the men who visited

I was giving you an insight into the minds of people, obviously they don't always go for the better option; Regardless of if this is due to poor intelligence, being low on funds, or being embarrassed about walking into a known brothel(to give but a few examples), it's still a point to consider.
Frankly I don't even understand why someone would use a prostitute at all when there are so many easy women in the world; Seems almost a redundant trade. Do prostitutes pay tax if they're legal?

men will pay more because they will know that the women are clean and safe!

You didn't read my post, did you? And you didn't think about how STDs are transmitted.

Think about it; A woman undergoes extensive tests to prove that she's "safe and clean" .....she then has sex with a man ...she now is possibly a carrier for one or more STDs. Who is going to declare here "safe and clean"?

i do know how STD's are transmitted, but i am guilty of not reading your post properly and for that i am sorry!

but if condoms are a must to wear, (which in the places i know they are, they will not do anything without a condome being worn) then the men and women are safer and thats got to be a good thing?

So now, for this one issue, you're fighting like hell to restrict the freedom of consenting adults in the privacy of their own "bedroom"? But in other issues, you fight like hell for the freedom of consenting adults? Does that make any logical sense to you?

The hookers get tested in NV by the State Dept of Health. Every week each one is required by law to have a physical examination to eliminate the possibility of her having an STD. Blood testing is also required. In addition, all sexual activity in the brothels require the use of a condom to further enhance safety. To be legal in NV, you have to work in certain areas, not walking the streets or hanging out in a casino. That gets you arrested.

Your chances of getting an STD from a hooker is the same as your chance of getting on from a girl you pick up in a bar or meet at a party.

Legalized hookers have to be licensed, have to pass health inspection tests, and pay taxes.

Just read an interesting article in the paper today. It was attributed to the Washington Post, so if y'all can negotiate that site, you might find it for yourselves.

Basically, it said that the Netherlands, the "anything goes" society/country, is rethinking that wide-open attitude. They're seek a more controlled, values-oriented society that stresses family values. One quote was, "People are saying that we should have values; people are asking for more and more rules in society."

So, isn't it interesting that the Netherlands has had open prostitution, as well as most anything else for decades, is not seeking a return to more social controls, more rules and laws, and a more family-oriented value system for their society?

And here, we're trying to make claims about how great places like the Netherlands have dealt with such things as prostitution. Hmm?

Baron Max

And Germany?
Are they looking for more rules?
Where does that Post article say it's anything to do with prostitution?

That is a very good point baron. I'm gonna have to read the article.

Its like giving a kid free reign and letting him do what he wants. Comes right down to it, he wants the rules.

what about Hamberg they have dealth with prostitution very well

Have they? And isn't that what people always said about the Netherlands? And now it seems that the Netherlands is having second thoughts about it all.

And I still keep saying, ...if a society, a city, a town, a state, whatever group of people living and working together, wants to keep prostitution, drugs, and anything else out of their society, then they should be permitted to do that.

What is a society? Just a bunch of isolated individuals who somehow feel as if they should be permitted to do anything they want? Or like a house with four roommates ...should there be no rules at all? ...anyone can do whatever they want, any time they want?

in germany it is kept to a certain area, (mostly) and if tehy dont want to see it then they dont go there

Prostitution is always gonna be around, it's a good thing or else no woman would be safe.
The problem is that it should be controlled by an organ that has nothing to do with politics or religion. Pimps must be stopped. If a woman choises to go in prostitution she must be able to do that on her own terms no a pimps.
Ofcourse there must be protection for woman.

But if people would finally come to respect what these ladies do and see this as any other job there would be a whole differnce. But for the moment these woman are threated like shit by there pimps and everyone looks down on them. Yet because they are there a lot a woman can walk the streets at night without be afraid of getting raped.

The one thing they really have to get into is children. Youg girls who wind up in the net's. Instead of arresting adult females and there clients, they better get these kids out of there and support them in staying out of this life.

So Max, if I found a single US newspaper article that advocated gun control in the USA, would you think it was going to happen?

It's a newspaper article, not a policy.

There will always be rape Im afraid, even with legal hookers. Id not say that mens sex instincts are naturally bad and need prostitution to hold them back - but some men just like violence and connect ti with sex becuse they enjoy that too.
