Ahh, a beautiful day. I roll out of my lean-to and prepare to gather materials for the construction site. I feel my feet snag on something on the ground and I hear a thwack. I glimpse a blur streaking towards me and I am covered in gunk.
Eeewww... I try to wipe my face, but the stuff clings like glue. There are spongy masses of some kind embedded in the mess. I pull them off by the strings that hang from their ends. Is this... Nah, couldn't be. I make my way towards the pool to clean up.
As I approach, my vision is too blurred to see the grease spot on the boulder at the water's edge. My feet slip and I come down hard on the stone. Ouch, more possible brain damage. I slide down the stone into the water. Splash.
Gasping and spluttering, I attempt to gather my dignity. Unfortunately, it seems to have fled at the moment. Perhaps it will return if I wipe this crap off my face. Scrub, scrub. I realize that I haven't washed my clothes since arriving. I should probably attempt to clean them. I remove them and clean them as much as I am able. I should probably make some soap later. I don't think it would be too difficult. I believe the ingredients are fat and wood ashes. I'll probably have to experiment a bit before I get the method right. I seem to remember a third ingredient, but I can't recall what it is. Ahh well, I'll figure it out.
I hang my clothes to dry and decide to do some stretching exercises. That lean-to is far too cramped, especially sharing it with Padma (I think she's living with me again, maybe she just comes to cook and clean). I really must get to work building the house.
With that out of the way, I lay down on the grass to catch a few z's and hopefully get rid of this headache from hitting my head on the stone. I think to myself that aspirin comes from a plant, I wonder which and I wonder if any grow nearby. A pity Bones has betrayed me, I could write him and he would surely know. Ahh, well. Probably shouldn't go to sleep with a concussion, but I'm just so tired.
