Scivillage

while Padma ran to help Inv, i emptied my backpack onto the ground.
"Stay away from the cannibal, you have no idea what she's capable of."
Finally, i found what i needed..... unrapping the silk off it, i loaded my tranq gun, and took aim......
Bang.
Missed.
She dodged through the forest a bit, i ran to get a closer shot. Loaded another shot in.
Bang.
Did i get her?
Running to check, i found her on the ground.

thump thump thump..... i could feel the gnomes chasing after her. I tried to drag her to the clearing, but it was evident that i wouldn't make it.
mmmmm.....
I managed to get to the edge of the flooding pond, and drag the body into it, leaving cannibal's head out of the water. We were hidden a little by the shrubbery, enough to make the gnomes pass. phew.....

Pow! The last image i saw was Cannibal's fist. So i missed....

I wake up looking at my companions, and they help me up.

er... yeah, I say the occasional think, but now I can't be bothered to read these masses of text so...

[Insert Name] goes to Jaded's hut and finds a note...

"By the time you read this, I'll be long gone. The monotony of village life is driving me crazy and not even fish flinging has brought me any comfort.
I'm off to SciCity to try and make something of myself.
The best to you all. Feed my pets. Fling a fish for me, Padma.
Goodbye."

After reading JadedFlower's note, I broke into hysterical tears. How could she do this to us? Why would she leave our gentle village? Maybe I should send Cannibal X after her to bring her back. After much deliberation, I determined that in fact this note was a forgery. I could tell by the traces of X toxin on the paper. Cannibal X has her. She's probably feasting on her remains even now. Oh, poor JadedFlower. I will build a monument to your fish flinging abilities. It will tower even above the ship the giants are constructing. The god's themselves will feel humbled in it's presence.

But first, the pool must be cleared up. The village is almost entirely submerged now. I make my way to the clearing where the giants are constructing their ship. They're almost done now. The giants ignore my presence. Even if I bang on their shins with a stout branch. I decide to enter the ship and investigate it's purpose.

Inside, the ship has been filled with grain and the fruits of the jungle. Tapestries cover the walls, depicting felines in various states of repose. A cat orgy here, a cat dozing there. I make my way down the corridors, heading ever upwards. At last, I reach the bridge. A figure sits in the captains chair. His back to me. I approach and come to the front of the chair. Great scott!! How could this be?!? Bones? What is the meaning of this?

There is a lurch and a sickening feeling in my stomach as the ship is raised far above the level of the forest. I run to the side of the ship to see what is happening. The giants have lifted the ship upon their shoulders and are carrying it through the forest. The climb the escarpment from which the waterfall flows. Above is a wide plain that extends for miles. Far in the distance I see an obelisk. The giants carry us towards the obelisk.

Far below, I make out the dim vision of my companions gaping up at me. The giants have stepped in the pool dislodging the rocks that blocked the river's exit. Water once more flows in the river, the village is saved.

The obelisk draws ever nearer. It is made of a black, glassy substance. Strange runes are carved in it's surface. At it's base, a fire burns. Strange figures dance about the fire. Mad capering images leering as they gyrate to some unheard rythm. I make out one of the figures. It is Cannibal X. This must be her tribe. I see the body of JadedFlower lying prone upon an altar. Runes of a similar nature to the runes upon the obelisk are written upon her flesh. Smoke rising from the fire begins to coalesce into an amorphous shape. It seems to be all eyes and mouths, writhing in the inescapable rythm put forth by the dancers. A low chant can be heard.

As we approach the obelisk, a strange haze rises from the ground on either side. A vague, shifting image can be seen through this haze. An ocean. It's surface whipped into a flurry of enormous waves. Silvery shapes seem to dart among the waves. As the dance grows more frantic the vision grows ever clearer. I hear the chant now being echoed by Bones behind me. I turn to look upon him and I see him advancing towards me. A sacrificial dagger in his hand.

We followed Inv as far as we could, but the forest streached beyond foreva. Tiger fast outran us. Still, we continued. I smell smoke and incence

entered scivillage - stop - was confused about what was going on - stop - couldn't be bothered to read the whole history -stop - just shouted -stop - what is going on here? - stop

Very long story short. Me Sexy Blue Feet. Guy stuck in ship that's been carried by giants to Jaded (who is a human sacrafice) in Inv Nex. Me and Padma, we chase Inv.

Most of the problems have been solved now Spurious. Really, the only active events are the last with the ship and the giants. The village is no longer being flooded. Sorry about making it so complicated. And sorry for blowing up the last time. I'm just a complicated guy I guess. I'll endeavor to wrap up story lines quicker.

Strange giants emerged from the ground after the earthquake problem was fixed by Cat. They made a strange ship and carried it to an obelisk where cannibals were performing a strange ritual. Bones, my friend to whom I once wrote letters, is somehow involved.

It does have a tendency to get on top of you if you don't check in all the time. I'll try to keep it simpler. Thanks for the barbecue by the way, it was delicious.

By the way, there was a short trend of simplification while I was constructing houses, etc... But then I impulsively created this sacrifice scenario. JadedFlower's note hit me pretty hard and then the muse just hit. Sometimes I can't help it. I'm gonna admit to my nerdiness with this next line. It's a technique I used when DMing. I'd just throw out a million plot hooks, most of which were dropped and never followed. It just gave the players the feeling of making their own choices rather than being led by the nose. Of course, D&D is a different environment than a thread where people don't have time to catch up all the time. As I said before, I'll try to wrap up the story lines in a post or two when the urge hits me. Before, I've always left them open at the end to allow others to take the ball and run with it.

I found scivillage empty...I found a note. It said that they all went away to chase a guy stuck in a ship that is being carried by some giants.

Hmm...some kind of divine mission probably. I wonder if I should follow them..

let's have a drink first.

(Alright, I'll wrap this up right now.)

Bones advanced towards me with a menacing glint in his eyes that matched the menacing glint of the dagger. The chant he uttered robbed me of volition. I couldn't move. Closer he came. Closer.

Suddenly, a furball streaked across the room and launched a spitting, hissing assault on his face. The glint faded from his eye as his expression changed to one of shock and surprise. It was Cat. He had saved me.

The dagger fell to the floor and shattered into a million pieces. I had not realized that it was made of obsidian. As the dagger shattered, the ship lurched once more. Once again I felt a sickening feeling of nausea in the pit of my stomach. The ship was falling I saw the ground rushing towards me.

Crash!! The violence of the crash of the ship upset the delicate rythm of the dancers. They turned as one to witness the collapse and gasped as the giants began to collapse in large chunks of stone that rained down upon the forest.

Kunax came running from the forest and lunged into the circle of dancers. Some of the dancers attempted to attack Kunax with spears, but Kunax quickly hamstrung them and the rest fled into the woods. Sexy Blue took some potshots at the fleeing cannibals. She shot a few in their backsides, who yelped as they ran. The portal to the ocean world vanished and the strange apparition of eyes and teeth vanished as though they never were. Padma released JadedFlower from the bondage of the altar while Sexy Blue and I kicked dirt over the fire. I heard a flurry of curses and turned to see Cannibal X raise her blowgun to her lips, preparing to send a parting shot. Kunax leaped and caught the blowgun in his mouth, breaking it into 4 pieces which fell to the ground. Cannibal X quickly fled to join her tribesmen.

I returned to the ship to deal with Bones, but he was nowhere to be found. I returned to the group and was greatly heartened by Kunax and Cat's reunion. They seemed so happy that I almost burst into tears of joy.

We gathered ourselves together and began the long trek back to the village. We made it a fair distance before I was overcome by the desire to look behind me. The obsidian spire still stood tall. The sun glinting from it's glassy surface. We haven't seen the last of these cannibals, I thought.

Large tiger sleeping contest in Padma's hammock, wake me in 2 days.

(be back in 2 days time)

I am back from a long and useless journey. I find that people are being chased my gnomes. Freaky. Not sure if anybody has killed me yet.

Hey, i'll have a drink too. Any lime and ginger ale to go wit that scirum? :D

I spent much of the day drying out my hut, and, using the DIY hammock kit that i found in my backpack, set up a hammock to which i established on the balcony of my hut. Finished with a swim, had a few :-D drinks, and after various shameless acts of semiterrorism on the surroundings, slept in my new hammock........ to be woken an hour later by a tearing sound and a falling feeling.........and a hurt head feeling. ooww......

btw. Any acts of semiterrorism found in scivillage in the next few days, i deny any knowledge of. Especially the gladwrapped toiletseat, the purple colour in the rum, the flower'ed :p on jaded's porch, the bra-catapult outside of Inv's house, the cat toys hanging from padma's construction and the pile of banana's infront of spirus's house

Sexy Blue's Diary:
Next morning:
Oowwwww..... Sore head. The bruises and the hangover are NOT mixing well. After grabbing a very oily bfast (toast with llooottsss of butter, bacon, eggs hash browns....mmmm) i sunbaked on my rock on the edge of the pond, and slept some more. Some unusual events are unfolding at present. The fish are going haywire, and all the animals seem on edge.......mmm......but when i ask why, they tell me that they can't tell me. Its just a non-homosapien thing.....mmm....where's that tiger? Sleeping.....na, waking up a tired tiger is probably not, in all probability, the wisest move. The giants' rumbling has died out. perhaps they have left?
mmm.... sleep.....

Ahh, a beautiful day. I roll out of my lean-to and prepare to gather materials for the construction site. I feel my feet snag on something on the ground and I hear a thwack. I glimpse a blur streaking towards me and I am covered in gunk.

Eeewww... I try to wipe my face, but the stuff clings like glue. There are spongy masses of some kind embedded in the mess. I pull them off by the strings that hang from their ends. Is this... Nah, couldn't be. I make my way towards the pool to clean up.

As I approach, my vision is too blurred to see the grease spot on the boulder at the water's edge. My feet slip and I come down hard on the stone. Ouch, more possible brain damage. I slide down the stone into the water. Splash.

Gasping and spluttering, I attempt to gather my dignity. Unfortunately, it seems to have fled at the moment. Perhaps it will return if I wipe this crap off my face. Scrub, scrub. I realize that I haven't washed my clothes since arriving. I should probably attempt to clean them. I remove them and clean them as much as I am able. I should probably make some soap later. I don't think it would be too difficult. I believe the ingredients are fat and wood ashes. I'll probably have to experiment a bit before I get the method right. I seem to remember a third ingredient, but I can't recall what it is. Ahh well, I'll figure it out.

I hang my clothes to dry and decide to do some stretching exercises. That lean-to is far too cramped, especially sharing it with Padma (I think she's living with me again, maybe she just comes to cook and clean). I really must get to work building the house.

With that out of the way, I lay down on the grass to catch a few z's and hopefully get rid of this headache from hitting my head on the stone. I think to myself that aspirin comes from a plant, I wonder which and I wonder if any grow nearby. A pity Bones has betrayed me, I could write him and he would surely know. Ahh, well. Probably shouldn't go to sleep with a concussion, but I'm just so tired.
