Sciforums Fleet

They arrived at deck 3, down the corridor there were flames. Shin then ordered,

"Close those blast doors and open the air lock,"

A damage control officer then shouted,

"The blast doors won't close, the system is malfunctioning, the force fields short circuited due to electromagnetic disruption, go put on one of the flame-resistant suits and fire extinguishers will ya?"

Shin's squad then arrived, he then ordered,

"Do as they say,"

"Aye sir,"

After he sealed his suit he then searched psionically for signs of life, there are still people trapped in there.

Tiberius sat on a table watching Razor fall down.

Aki went and grabbed a hypospray and some tweezers.

"Wait, you're a Nurse?" Tiberius asked.

"Yes, is there something wrong with that?" Aki said while giving him a pain seditive.

"No. It's just I didn't know what you do."

Tiberius heard his communicator go off.

"This is Tiberius."

"This is the bridge, the Captain would like to know the extent of the structural damage."

"Patch me through."

Tiberius was put on speaker throughout the bridge.

"Captain, the ship is fine. We have system failures and fires, but the structural integrity is fine. The hull will need a few repairs, but we should be ok. Now if you'll excuse me."

Tiberius hung up as Aki began pulling the glass shards out. "Son of a frakker that hurts!"

OUT OF GAME: @ Flemster: Sounds good. I'm for it.

"There are 6 people in there," Shin said, another damage control officer then replied, "We are trying to rescue them, we are waiting on the personal shields,"

Shin then said,

"My psionic shield can last for a while, I will see how many I can rescue,"

Out of Game: Same

"Could you be a little more gentle?"

"Sorry, but the shards must come out."

Tiberius grunted as another shard came right out of his flesh.

"Small talk. Where are you from?"

"I don't talk about it. You?"

"Same here. Guess we got something in common. Why'd you join SciFleet?"

"I wanted to help people", she said smiling.

"Sounds good enough."

"And why did you do it?"

"I got tired of bumming around. After I left my birthplace, I was on Earth for quite a while. Not really doing anything. And then I joined."

"Not very noble."

"Story of my life."

Shin and his squad of Shadows formed Kuji-in hand seals. Kuji-in hand seals itself does nothing, but it is a method that they learned to use to help concentrate and form psionic energy in certain ways. Shin extended his right palm, his left hand changed a seal, the rest of squad concentrated their psionic energy on Shin's palm. Shin then switched seals rapidly, he then put his palm to his chest, he then formed a Rin sign with both hands. There is now an invisible psionic shield around him. A few damage control officers stopped to watch the process, their jaws dropped, Shin then saluted them, they returned the salute, and said,

"Good luck sir,"

They then resumed their work. Shin ran in the flame as fast as he could.

"I want to thank you for saving my life."

"It was nothing really."

"Just accept the apology", she said in a sassy way.

"Ooh. A fighter. I like that", Tiberius said while trying to sit up.

"And the good moments gone." Aki walked to go get some alcohol(medicinal kind) and bandages.

Shin ran to the end of the corridor, there were six people with fire extinguishers, attempting to keep the fire at bay, but at their back was a closed door. They were civilians. Shin ran up to them and said,

"Stay back,"

He then knelt down formed 11 Kuji-in seals in rapid succession, he then ordered,

"Empty your fire extinguishers right now!"

They did as told, they emptied the fire extinguishers into the flame, temporarily retreating it. Shin then smashed his palms together, formed a Kai sign. He created a shield around them. He was never good at creating psionic shields, thus he wastes too much energy , he hoped that his skills are suffice and that the psionic energy his squad gave him would be enough. He then closed his eyes, attempting to hold the flame back, hoping that the damage control party will be able to get personal shields and portable force fields in time.

Aki poured the Alcohol on a cotton ball and cleaned the wound.

"Ahh."

"Painful?"

"Cold."

Aki chuckled as she placed the bandage on his leg.

"Can you hand me the tape so I can secure it?"

Tiberius reached for the roll and handed it to her. She taped the bandage.

"You're set. You can rest or leave."

"There's work to be done", he said getting up.

"Ok then."

"Hey, how about dinner some time?"

She looked at him with a somewhat intrigued face.

"Sure."

He doesn't think he can hold for much longer, the burning white flame is too hot. However, no matter what, he would still have to keep the shield on, if he failed, him and the other six civilians will meet their ends right here from the fire. It is not what he imagined to be his last moments, and he doesn't intend for it to be. Shin then shouted,

"Backs against the wall, now!"

They civilians quickly did as he said, Shin then retreated the shield, to just in front of his face. He simply can't hold the shield any longer, but he persevered as hard as he could. He told himself,

"It is just like a drill,"

Shin then saw silhouettes of people in the fire, he couldn't sense them, because he had to concentrate on the shield. Once they got close enough, they blasted their fire extinguishers to clear a path, they then charged at the shield, Shin opened a small gap for them to enter, once they did, he closed the gap, the others turned on the portable force field. Shin then dropped to the floor, he was exhausted. The Chief Damage Control Officer knelt beside Shin and said smiling,

"You did it, you did it!"

It was the last thing Shin heard, he then went into sleep.

They got out of the flames, with the force field around them. Once they exited the flames, they sealed the fire with the force field, then opened an air lock. The flames were quickly put out. The then sealed the air lock and released the force field. Shin still lay there asleep, they saluted him and carried him to his quarters. They opened the door with his ID, they then took off his fire-resistant suit. Lieutenant Moskva then place him on his bed and left. He lay there on his bed, with beads of sweat in his pure white hair and on his face. He lay there smiling faintly.

"So what's the situation?" Tiberius asked, limping into Engineering.

"Power fluctuations have reduced, major systems are coming back online, and the structural damage is being fixed."

"How soon till we're at 100% efficiency?"

"At least a few days."

"Alright. What needs immediate attention?"

"The shiled generator. It's going off and on, and seeming that we're in unknown space, that's bad."

"Agreed. I'll go down there."

"Sir, I think you should rest."

"Why?"

"You didn't get any sleep, and you're leg is busted up."

"How'd you know I didn't get any sleep?"

"Ted was in Ten Forward before we entered the tunnel."

Tiberius looked at Ted. "Sneaky frakker. I'll have to keep an eye on you", he said jokingly.

Ted smiled.

"Alright. I'll go lay down."

Tiberius left for his quarters.

Shin woke up after a long and full sleep. He took a shower and got ready. He changed into another set of ESSCPA uniforms. He missed breakfast, so he said into the intercom to the mess,

"Bring me my meal to my quarters please,"

"Right away sir,"

He needed to work on his detailed analysis of the battle with the Florians. He went to his private tactical room and brought up all the records of the battle.

Tiberius layed therein his bed. He thought of all the times he'd been injured in the past.

Suddenly there was a beep at the door.

"What?" Tiberius yelled.

"You want food or not?" Aki said through the door.

"Come in." Tiberius said, feeling a bit like a jerk.

"Sandwhich and water sound good?"

"Sandwhich does, but you couldn't find beer?"

She smiled. "Not until you show signs of improvement." She set the tray down on the table next to him.

"Well, thanks anyway."

"No problem."

"Who's the second tray for?"

"Me."

"Oh ok. Would you mind eating here?"

"Not at all." She took a seat right next to him in a chair.

"So, how old are you?"

"19", she said, taking a bite of her sandwhich.

"A little young to be on a starship don't you think?"

"No."

Shin scrutinized every singe detail, he already caught a few tactical mistakes they made, but nothing major. He also caught plenty of errors made by their opponents. He is not even close to being finished. Then his doorbell sounded,

"Sir, your breakfast is here,"

Shin then opened his door, saluted and said,

"Thank you,"

"You are welcome sir," the crewmen said returning the salute. Shin the closed his door, and got started on his breakfast, taking a small break from his work.

"So, how old are you?"

"19", she said, taking a bite of her sandwhich.

"A little young to be on a starship don't you think?"

"No."

Out of Game: Yeah, 19 is not too young, especially when you have one 15 year old and six 16 year old teenagers on the ship as commissioned officers, and the 15 year old is the Tactical/Strategic Forecaster, Tactician, Strategist and Chief of Staff of the Captain :D

"So, what type of music do you like?" She asked.

"Any, although I prefer metal. It gets me pumped and ready to do stuff."

"I'm more of a classical fan. Like Beethoven, and Mozart, and a little Bach doesn't hurt."

"Your favorite place?" Tiberius didn't know why he asked this, it just came to mind.

"New Seattle. Especially during the Winter."

"Nice place. I went there one time in the Spring."

"And what about you? Where was your favorite place?"

"My favorite place was my house in Munich."

"Nice?"

"Very. But it got burned down and so I started wandering the world."

OUT OF GAME: I just realized my character's personality is sort of like a cross between Liam Neeson's character in K-19, and Chief Tyroll from the new BSG.

He quickly finished his breakfast, and resumed his work. After an hour, he finished. He looked it over for errors, then filed it to the Captain. There were many minor mistakes they made during the engagement, no major mistakes, nowhere near as devastating as the mistakes made by their enemies. He went over to the grand piano in his quarters, he checked the keys, the piano was perfectly tuned. He played the concert C scale in a swift and smooth motion. He was satisfied. He chose to learn to play piano, a popular choice amongst the Super Soldiers, along with Violin, Cello, Clarinet, Flute .etc. He have become quite good at it, if he had a "hobby" that would be it.

He then played Mozart's Turkish March from memory, his favorite song.

"I'm more of a classical fan. Like Beethoven, and Mozart, and a little Bach doesn't hurt."

Bach is generally recognized as baroque, not classical. It is debatable whether he is the end of Baroque or beginning of classical. I think he is the bridge, rather then the end or beginning of one. Just an extra piece of information :D

psionic shields? That seems a tad extreme...

in game

I walked out of my room after taking a nap...

OOC: what is going on?
