Sciforums City: Solstice

"Any price you name, and you will vanish from the government archives," Shogun then thought to himself without displaying any body language or emotion, "I would very much like to kill you right here and now, but I got other plans," Shogun then asked,

"Ever thought of being a private military contractor, in other words a mercenary?"

"i'll shoot him, all I want is my bullet back, 3 kilograms of osmium, and a kilogram of osmium tetraoxide in 10 plexiglass vials in liquid form."

"I dont do military contractor work, it kills advertising." I said

"If I need something I cant normally find Ill send you what I need, you send me who you want, and I dont do any of that "capture them alive" crap."

"Bingo," Shogun said. He then pressed a button on the intercom, "Bring the bullet here immediately, under my name prepare 3 kilograms of osmium, a kilogram of osmium tetraoxide and 10 plexglass vials in liquid form, be quick about it,"

"Once he is dead, you will also receive political protection from me," Shogun then said, a soldier came in with the bullet, Shogun then said, "The rest of the materials will take a while, but they will be ready,"

"I dont want political protection, first off because than the people that hire me get scared, second, it wouldnt last a day" I said

"I dont want you to like me, Im just here for the damned entertainment"

OOC: Shogun, Im thinking maybe what we can either do is go down this story road the way it looks, or we can take a twist. I vote for the twist, namely, I inject you with an autoinjector (just something that makes you go unconsciouss so I can escape) I grab your gun, find the storage area where they are getting the osmium, and osmium tetraoxide (an incredibly poisonous and corrossive molecule hence why I wanted it in glass tubes) shoot the two technicians, grab a lot more than I would have gotten, put on one of their coats and sneak out. So, twist or no twist?

Out of Game: Fine by me, but I hid bugs in the supplies, which you won't know.

OOC: Do you mind if they could have a limited lifespan? Maybe 24 hours or something? Bause I cant think of any other way where I could get rid of them without it being cheap. (Maybe I'd trade some of the stuff for something?)

I reached down to my right shoe and pulled out an auto injector and shot him full of atropine. Poisonous, but the second after I pulled the trigger he slumped forward and onto the table, he wasnt unconsciouss so much as he could not move. I layed another auto injector, physostigmine, on the top of the back of his head, (it's the antidote) I stabbed it with him, he should be awake in about an hour. I shut the vent above the one way glass. I whispered at him because I knew he could hear me "I wouldnt try to open that door over there for another 24 hours."

I pulled out his gun and walked out the door and than closed it, it was airtight, I hid the gun behind my back. I saw a guy walking down the hall with a briefcase with the osmium and osmium tetraoxide. He waved to me

"Hey, I got your stuff right here" he said walking up to me smiling

"Thanks man" he handed me the briefcase and I set it on the ground. I grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him forwards onto the fairbairn in my right hand, it went through his stomach and than I pulled him back and stabbed him again in the neck. I let his body fall slowly.

I grabbed the briefcase and openned it up. It was all there, I found a vent and openned it. I removed the vials of osmium and strapped a tiny little bit of thermite to each one and strung them to a 15 minute timer. I stuck them all in the vent and shut the vent tightly over it. I grabbed the briefcase and kept walking.

I walked into the lab and I saw the two technicions look at me quizzicly, I pulled out my new pistol and shot them both.

I locked the door and went to the storage area. They keep all sorts of nasty chemicals in these places that I would have a hard time coming by. I grabbed several cases to help me move everything. I grabbed three 100 ml vials of tetrodotoxin (very potant neuro toxin, no known antidote). the cases were made to handle the chemicals safely. What I was seriously surprised to find was 500 grams of uraniumhexafluoride, they really shouldnt have that stuff here. I grabbed all of that. And the last thing on my shopping list was Dimethylmercury. The alarm on my watch went off. One minute left. I rushed out of the back exit with the case I had picked up plus the briefcase. I waved down a cab and got in...

OOC: Well the problem is that you cant hide it in the osmium bricks because those are solid metal, and osmium tetraoxide is ridiculously corrosive, hence why it can only be contained in glass, it will dissolve rubber and plastic along with most metals pretty quickly. I thought you meant in the actual briefcase.

In game:

My watch went off.

somewhere four blocks south ten pieces of thermite burnt through the protective glass of of ten glass cylinders of osmium tetraoxide, the heat of the thermite dropping into the solution instantly vaporized the osmiumtetraoxide sending it through the air conditioning loop. Right now the osmiumtetraoxide had entered the air and people were breathing it in, it would take around two hours before they felt the effects, six hours later practically all of them would face a pulmonary endema, incurable, and than die. Save for one person whom is incopacitated in an airtight isolated interrogation room...

Out of Game: In the briefcase, plus the bug could be concealed in glass, and the one stuff the person gave you were fake, they will have effects, but only temporary and nothing major, because you didn't show the person my seal.

OOC: Awww comeon, thats no fun, at least give me several people dead. But, I dont get the temporary effects? you cant just activate a molecule to make it work, it either works or doesnt.

At least let it kill a dozen or two dozen people.

Yeah, sure. Temporary as in it resembles osmium tetraoxide, but its not it. It is just something that will cause pain and black outs temporarily to confuse the opponent.

OOC: That sucks :(

In game: It didnt work quite as I had planned, but who cares? OsO4 (osmium tetraoxide) is nothing compared to UF6 (Uranium Hexafluoride), or tetrodoxtin, or even dimethylmercury. I double checked those to make sure they were the real deal, they hadnt bothered to fake them because they didnt think that I originally planned to get captured somewhere along the line and knew just what sort of nasty stuff they kept in their labs. It checked out and each one was 99.998% pure. I could kill all the people in about 10 to 15 city blocks with all this stuff. I ditched the briefcase after a while, too big of a risk, especially because it had the police badge on it.

Everyone in the detention block was dead, Shogun is still alive sealed in the interrogation room. Shogun woke up, he then said to himself,

"At least I got that confirmed, he won't be used for my purposes,"

The impurities in the Osmium Tetraoxide reduced its lethality significantly, to a dozen dead. Shogun hid bugs in the briefcase and the materials, he left a way out for himself. He then said to himself,

"I hoped that you will take my offer, but no matter, then I will just have to take it more seriously,"

Shogun checked his seal, it was still there, the gun was gone, he then said to himself,

"I paid 20,000 for that pistol, you will pay it back with interest, with your soul,"

Shogun contacted his guards, away at the National Guard base,

"Get a hazardous materials crew here immediately, track the bugs,"

Jack was back at his apartment. It was destroyed. Rebecca looked at him. He wasn't pissed or anything, just shocked. "Oh well. Want lunch? My treat." "Sure."

"I paid 20,000 for that pistol, you will pay it back with interest, with your soul,"

OOC: My soul is already on lease to the devil. :D

I was sure to keep them at least several blocks away from my apartment, for one reason that I didn't trust the chemicals not to contaminate it, for another that I just didnt trust anything these days...

I had managed to find a few bugs, I destroyed all but one, and I set that on on top of a TV in a restaurant next door, by the time they get the equipment running I will be done, and I want them to know just what they are dealing with. I had started extracting the chemicals from their containers into newer ones I had bought, made in India, but they were damned good, you could run them over in a truck and they would stay together. I was done with all the chemicals except for the UF6, that's the hardest one.
