But only because it seems achievable in this case. Otherwise, it might be better to call the police.

This is why concealed-carry needs to be legal, everywhere.
It's better to have Al Sharpton protesting in front of your house for defending yourself than to be beaten into having a seizure at McDonalds.
I can understand why they may be upset by a man in their bathroom, but that doesn't excuse their behavior.
NO SHIT!
I've gotten mistaken for a male on occasion, is it ok to kick my head in, too?
Concerts as well. I see it all the time, sometimes approaching 50%. I agree that it wouldn't work out nearly so well the other way around. Perhaps an example of "reverse discrimination"?Hell they use the mensrooms at sporting events all the time..
Never heard of a woman being attacked for it.

Also, while I am aware of "The Bystander Effect", it presents no defense for nonintervention, at least in my book.
And then there's good Samaritans who are, in turn, victimized.

Are you talking about the young (fe)male victim at McDonald's, or this old male victim?so what? everybody gotta die sometime. better to die a hero than to die a coward. And then there's good Samaritans who are, in turn, victimized.

Actually, (I can't speak for ALL men) but, I don't think we would have nearly as big a problem with a woman using a mens restroom...

Personally I think the whole issue is overblown, I would have no problem with unisex restrooms to start with. I do, however, respect people's desire for privacy, so - different strokes for different folks. Europe (at least the parts I've visited) seems to have a more mature attitude in general than America does. Puritanical morals and all...

This kind of thing being why gender-specific bathrooms are oppressive. If you're transgendered, which one do you use? You face the possibility of violent assault or rape, if you choose wrong.
*shudder*There are a variety of court cases pending in CA on the issue of where you put transsexual convicts. Pre-op M->F transsexuals get put in men's prisons.
