Ok i have no problems with organizations faith based or otherwise giving out warnings to parents about things that they believe can cause harm to their kids.
But if you are giving me the correct story about PMRC. (And i have no reason to doubt the truth of your story) Then they stepped over the mark when they used their influence to create a law that forced compliance with their advisory.
So if the PMRC just stayed as an organization giving advisories to like minded populace then i would support their right to do so.
But stepping over the line and causing government authority to transform their advisory into a stipulation upon the whole community, I have No support for that.
Once they do that then as you reveal people will see it as a badge of honour to go out and get this banned music. When something is banned it just becomes more exciting and alluring.
Like when they tried to bann the consumption of alcohol in the USA back in the last century. The consumption of alcohol exploded and the corrupting power of organised crime was established. Today the banning of other drugs has turned organised crime into a controlling force within the USA.
Makes me think that the ones who work towards banning this and that are working for organised crime, to give them some more products to make huge tax free profits on. But that may be my conspiratorial mind seeing things that are not there. Then again i might have that right.
Ok hear is another song from Simple minds.
Simple Minds with Don't you forget about Me
Won't you come see about me?
I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby
Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving me everything inside and out and
Love's strange so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on
Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby
Don't You Forget About Me
Don't Don't Don't Don't
Don't You Forget About Me
Will you stand above me?
Look my way, never love me
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down
Will you recognise me?
Call my name or walk on by
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down, down
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ohhhh.....
Don't you try to pretend
It's my feeling we'll win in the end
I won't harm you or touch your defenses
Vanity and security
Don't you forget about me
I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby
Going to take you apart
I'll put us back together at heart, baby
Don't You Forget About Me
Don't Don't Don't Don't
Don't You Forget About Me
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
When you walk away
Or will you walk away?
Will you walk on by?
Come on - call my name
Will you all my name?
I say :
La la la...
