Post a Cool Picture

The dog I can accept, but I could hardly believe that such a fantastic Island existed.
I looked it up to check, and it does.
I am in love with it.
Surely it is the coolest picture posted.
It still exists as a community, rather than being some rich man's plaything.
Population 205.

If I had that dog, I would sell it on ebay.
Starting price $50
Offers accepted.

I have this apprehension where rising water levels are concerned. Comes from living in the bush and paying attention to the high water marks on lakes and stream beds with the realization that historic precedent is always subject to future change. :D

'Oyster Island' appears to be a common name for small islands. Not quite sure where this one is but it was for sale at one time.

If you look under Islands for sale, there's a lot of them. I like the following one but it's out of my price range.

Nautilus Island
Location: Brooksville, Maine
Listing price: $7.995 million

Nautilus Island's 37 acres are on sale.

For some old timey Americana, head to Maine's Nautilus Island. The 37-acre island was held by the British during the Revolution until a Paul Revere-led band of Marines took the isle. For sale: the whole 37-acre estate, replete with a six-bedroom main house (built in 1882 and since updated), a two-bedroom farmhouse, a guest house, a vineyard, a boathouse (retrofitted with a sweet-looking bar), a 300-foot dock, not to mention a 23-foot boat.

Hmmmm.....do you suppose if we all pooled our resources that we might make this a retreat for forum members?

There would have to be accommodation made for at least a couple of horses, lol. ;)

And so it begins....organizing any undertaking by the making of accommodations for those who wish to participate. :D

Speaking of islands...

This is Ball's Pyramid in the Pacific, the home of the world's largest insect, knows as a tree lobster, and formerly the only place they could be found (until a recent breeding program).

Gunmaker invents double-barrel handgun

Arsenal Firearms is turning out a double-barreled .45 caliber, semi-automatic handgun that allows you to shoot two bullets at the same time, Gizmodo reports. The new gun, which can be ordered with one trigger or two, can hit a target the size of an orange 15 yards away and has the power to knock down a bull.
