Oxnard shooting victim has died

John99 i know we have high car theft and Burglary (by the way i think you left out decimal points in some of those, Australia had 3.9 percent and then holand had 25 percent, i think you men 2.5%)

Actually i have PERSONALLY been the victom of an atempted car theft. I parked my car in Alexandra road on my way back to SA (i had gone to melbourn to pick up my new car from my parents), to nick into a shop to use the toilet. Came back and there was a cop car packed behind my car and 2 cops looking at my car. Made an offhand coment of "please dont tell me i parked in a no parking zone" and the cop asks "is this your car sir". I say yes and he tells me this guy was trying to break into the boot (they caught the basted in the act:D). After sitting at the cop shop for 2 hours and filling out a statement to say i never gave permission for ANYONE to try to get into my boot with a screwdriver (i seriously couldnt belive the cop wanted me to put this into the statement, if i had wanted someone in my car i would have given them the keys) i FINALLY got on my way back to SA

Anyway the point of this story is that i would MUCH rather have the incoveniance of this (and having to replace the lock on the boot of my car) than being SHOT

The percentage of the population that suffered "contact crime" in England and Wales was 3.6 percent, compared with 1.9 percent in the United States and 0.4 percent in Japan.

Yes, well, I've never been robbed or shot. The fact that potential victims may be packing heat is why "contact crime" is lower in the US than Australia.

I'd venture to say that one of the reasons school shootings are such a problem is that schools are one of the few places in the US no one is legally allowed to have a gun. So if you want a bunch of defenseless people to shoot without worrying about anyone shooting back, go to a school!

Someone tryed to shoot up a pizza hut and was almost immediately killed by another customer. A much happier ending than when a wackjob starts shooting at a school.

mad thats crap, (BTW noticed you ignored my road safty post)

Look at the murder rates of counties with gun laws v the US

Its ALOT higher in the US

Oh and we dont have school shootings either, (well there was ONE at monash uni 5 years ago) and we have gun control

But Anthony i have never been robbed and TBH i dont even know too many people who have been either. Hell i used to walk through the projects at 3am too.

Yeah, and where most of the murders happen in the U.S., they tend to be in big cities that already have gun control laws or outright bans on them yet they still happen. The types of people that tend to die and get murdered are criminals and also the poor. Poverty is the problem, fighting for survival, not guns themselves as most everyone else does just fine with em.
