Osama Bin Laden is Dead

I think this incident makes it much less likely that Republicans/Tea Partiers in Congress will feel strong enough to play Chicken with the national debt ceiling. And I think this is going to make the chances of a Republican in the White House in 2012 much less likely. I am sure there are a lot of Republicans/Tea Partiers waking up with a huge headache today.

But the bottom line is Bin Ladin's death is very good news for the world. The world is a little bit safer now that he is gone.

If any president ever deserved to smoke a blunt on the job, this would be the time. Two nights ago he absolutely walloped Trump and his stupid Klan of birthers at the White House press gala, very funny stuff, and the very next night he orders a Bin Laden snatch op. He should have called Trump before the official announcement, to inform him along with all the other leaders and dignitaries.

Anyway, well done Obama, well done US Navy Seals (What do they say? Hoo-rah?)!

And to all the Pakistanis who sheltered this murderer for so long and told us he was somewhere else: Booooooooooooooooooo (and go F yourselves).

Actually President Bush should be thanked as well for sending the troops over there to find him over 10 years ago. Or do we just forget about that piece of history and only let President Obama take the bows? Then again it was the army that did their job , if this is true, so again they also should be thanked.

So is the war(s) over? That would be something to be happy about.
We harrassed Al Qaeda so energetically that they finally moved their headquarters into Pakistan. A country that doesn't like us very much, whose government does not have control over large swaths of its own territory, and which has nuclear weapons! So no, there's no way this war is over.
In Obama's address he said that bin Laden was killed "after a fire fight". I hope he meant "during a fire fight".
It's the same way we say, "Mr. Smith died after a long illness." As I have opined many times, the English language is strangled by its pitifully small vocabulary of prepositions, most of which were developed during the Stone Age. They make it difficult to speak precisely.
Please list some of Bush's war crimes.
Overthrowing two sovereign governments? Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan attacked us. Bush lied about Saddam having WMDs in order to direct our attention away from his daddy's petroleum industry buddies in Saudi Arabia. Saudi money finances about 90% of anti-Western terrorism, Saudi resources planned 9/11, the majority of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi, and Osama was a member by marriage of the House of Saud. If there was any Middle Eastern capital that deserved to be obliterated in retaliation for 9/11, it was Riyadh--whose citizens routinely march in the streets carrying signs saying "Death to America" and whose government is one of the most repressive theocracies in the region.
Leaving that aside, though, I think you'd have a hard time bringing any kind of indictment against GW Bush for war crimes or torture. What do you suggest? The International Criminal Court (not that the US is a signatory to that)? What charges do you recommend?
The Belgians, bless their hearts, actually did issue a warrant for his arrest and promised that if he ever set foot on Belgian soil he would be prosecuted. Unfortunately Belgium is a tiny country and our government bullied them into backing down. Probably threatened to boycott their chocolate.
And the flags? Where the hell did they get all those flags? I mean why do they have flags on hand for an impromptu celebration? Is there a flag seller who rushed to the scene along with the merry makers?
You don't think a major government building where international ceremonies are routinely held would not have an entire warehouse full of flags in the basement?
The Canadians really played up how badly we took it on the chin in 2001, and how important it was to morale to have actually accomplished this goal.
Bless those Canucks. They seem to feel the same way about us that we feel about the Brits. "You drive us crazy sometimes, but we'll always stand by you."
And a secondary question is if this stops being a war of vengeance, the one we wanted the blood of being dead, and starts to be a calculated matter of pest control.
It's about the petroleum. The Bush family's business and the most important commodity in America. That's why King George the First went after Saddam the first time. We were suppose to end up in control of Iraq's oil fields so gasoline would now be about a dollar a gallon. That sure went well.
is that how you spell capiche?
No. It's Italian, not French: capisce.
Where is the closer for the families of the thousands killed in the US's rush for vengeance? Oh right, they don't matter because they are just "towel heads"
At this point more people have been killed in the War on Islam than were killed on 9/11. More Americans, and more Muslims. Some "revenge." BTW, turbans are not made out of towels. They're made out of little sheets. So we're not supposed to call them "towel heads."
I hate to say it, but I will not vote Obama. I'm happy he ordered this and succeeded. But, I actually want real change - I'll vote Ron Paul whether he's on the GOP ticket or not
As a card-carrying Libertarian for more than 25 years, I don't see Ron Paul as anything but an opportunist. He's been a Republican for so long, in order to hang onto his seat in Congress, that he's starting to think like one.
Police ARE held to account if they recklessly discharge there weapons leading to deaths of civilians. They are also held to account if they murder a suspect, deadly force is a last resort only
Maybe in your country. Over here it takes a couple of years of intense effort and public sentiment to crack the Blue Line.

The Prince George's County (Maryland) police bungled a SWAT raid, broke into the home of the mayor of one of the towns by mistake, and killed his dogs--shot them in the back while they were running away and let them bleed to death while he was watching, handcuffed flat on the floor with his wife and mother. It took two years of the Washington Post running that as a headline story once every three months before the County finally gave him a monetary settlement for the loss of his dogs. The incompetent, unaccountable swaggering thugs who broke down the wrong door have still not been disciplined.
Easily. Bin Laden was trained by the CIA, he knows evasion tactics.
The CIA created the Taliban, as a force to hold back the Russian-created Northern Alliance. We have Jimmy may-he-rot-in-hell Carter to thank for that, and his incompetent advisor Zbieniew Brzezinski. Everyone forgets that the entire Middle East used to be a chessboard on which we and Russians played our little game of Cold War, and the hapless people who lived there were the pawns.
It could be a simple deception about the reason. Why such sudden concern for Muslim sensibilities?
Perhaps our government has finally pulled its head out of its ass and realized that the New Crusades have pissed off the world's entire Muslim population--about one-fifth of humanity. People in "moderate" Muslim countries like Indonesia are sending money to Islamic charities that funnel it to the terrorist madrassas.
I'm trying to think of a figure in the West whose assassination today could cause such a shock. The British Queen possibly.
Or, so soon after the wedding, the Prince. How about Obama himself?
Because the Night Wouldn't Be Complete Without It
When he first became a presidential contender, people were saying, "How could this guy be elected? His first name rhymes with 'Osama,' his last name rhymes with 'Iraq,' and his middle name rhymes with... no wait a minute, his middle name actually is 'Hussein'!"

If no country was willing to keep Bin Laden's remains then the only place would be at sea. And its a real rub in the face to his supporters, you know kind of like letting Saddam's enemies hoist him up and publicly hang him. I don't know why it all seems to incredulous.
THIS Country is a country of "Christ" I believe. lol Or so the conservatives always claim. So saying that there is no country that would have him is a load of horse shit. He's forgiven now. His family and the Bush's go way back. I am sure they would've had no problem interning his remains at the Crawford ranch or at Kennebunkport. Either way, there is the matter of DNA and dental records.

Do you have any idea the percentage of people who actually BELIEVE what the American government actually says?
trust%20distrust.png

And the press is of course only parroting what the government is saying. After the party of the uninformed that the corporate media is blowing all out of proportion is over, the rest of the public will want some sort of PROOF that this whole thing wasn't just one big made up story. Most people that were paying attention have believed that he was dead all along.

Just because the government and the press have been telling us there is a bogey man out there telling us he is going to kill us all, doesn't mean we have to believe their B.S. What, he's not dead till the government says he is? I call bullshit.

Yeah it was George II and the Army who let Bin Ladin go at Tora Bora. I don't think they should be thanked for that bit of incompetence. Then they let him roam wild for 8 years...disbanding the CIA Obama unit and as previously pointed out George II said he really didn't care about Bin Ladin (his own words).

Please do, 'cos I'm at a loss.
I mean, is it too much to ask for the whitehouse to put up some pictures on their website?

Of course your demands are unreasonable. Are you anti-American? Are you anti-freedom?

Sheesh. There. I spoonfed you. :m:

If you'll remember that President Clinton knew where he was as well and only sent a missile into the compound where he was instead of sending in the troops to take care of him. Yes, there were mistakes made by Clinton as well weren't there?

Yes, and do you remember Republicans in Congress accusing Clinton of trying to distract the nation from Republican attacks on his sex life whenever Clinton tried to take decisive action against Bin Ladin? Remember "tail wagging the dog" allegations from the Republican Congress?

And in any case, that does not excuse George II and the Army letting Bin Ladin go at Tora Bora and subsequently disbanding the CIA Bin Ladin unit.

No, I do not. I do know that Clinton could have just as easily sent in troops to insure that Osama was dead instead of the half hearted attempt that sending in one missile to kill him. It seems that Clinton was responsible for letting him "get away" the first time and you just won't see that will you? You blame the Republicans , who by the way balanced the budget even with Clinton in office, for something that Clinton could have overridden just as President Obama has overridden Congress by sending in over a billion dollars worth of bombs to Libya without Congressional approval either.

The underlying cause of the global terrorism - American (and/or Corporate Transnational?) (neo?) Imperialism remains.

Violence, death and destruction that comes down a hierarchical ladder is largely unnoticed by the mob. Who really cares about those millions of the dead mud, desert & jungle dwellers around the world, courtesy of US military & US government. However, when violence, death and destruction comes up a hierarchical pecking order (like in September 11) mobs are getting excited (and bloodthirsty). Nothing but disgusting.

The Islamist Terrorist Obama, no, Osama sorry, being buried at Sea with full Muslim honours.

Why was he sent over 1000 miles from where he was killed?

Why weren't there pictures of him when they killed him?

Why wasn't any blood samples drawn to insure that this wasn't a body double?

Let's see what our Mystic has to say:
What do you say, Mystic, about the last two thirds of 2011.
Scry away!

There will be trouble in the Middle East.
I see much war and bloodshed.
Alas the crystal is clouding over.

AMERICANS CELEBRATE MAY DAY, THE INTERNATIONALIST SOCIALIST NEW WORLD ORDER.

1mei.jpg

May Day
The Haymarket affair occurred during the course of a three-day general strike in Chicago, Illinois, United States that involved common laborers, artisans, merchants, and immigrants.[6] Following an incident in which police opened fire and killed four strikers at the McCormick Harvesting Machine Co. plant, a rally was called for the following day at Haymarket Square. Towards the end of the rally, as police moved in to disperse the event and opened fire on the unarmed crowd on the plea that an unknown assailant threw a bomb into the crowd of police. The bomb and resulting police riot left at least a dozen people dead, including one policeman.[7] A sensational show trial ensued in which eight defendants were openly tried for their political beliefs, and not necessarily for any involvement in the bombing.[8] The trial led to the eventual public hanging of four anarchists.[9] The Haymarket incident was a source of outrage from people around the globe. In the following years, memory of the "Haymarket martyrs" was remembered with various May Day job actions and demonstrations.[10]

May Day has become an international celebration of the social and economic achievements of the labour movement. Although the commemoration of May Day as International Workers' Day received its inspiration from the United States, the U.S. Congress designated May 1 as Loyalty Day in 1958 due to the day's perceived appropriation by the Soviet Union.[11] Alternatively, Labor Day traditionally occurs on the first Monday in September in the United States. People often use May Day as a day for political protest, such as the million people who demonstrated against far-right candidate Jean-Marie Le Pen in France in 2002, or as a day for protest against government actions, such as rallies in support of undocumented workers across the United States.[12][13][14]

Crafty how these big government globalists get the conservative masses to celebrate their holidays, ain't it?

Well, i'm a bit late in saying so, but congrats to our boys overseas and to Obama on this great accomplishment. :)

They're just trying to cover for the fact it wasn't the US military that tracked and killed him. They wished they'd been the ones to do it, but they simply lacked the competence and effectiveness. Here's the man who's truly responsible and to whom we owe our thanks:
