It's not rational, there has to be a better explanation. the problem is simply that you don't understand them [the myths], so you have to reject them to defend your thoughts. most of the old myths are highly allegorical so that only the initiated can understand them.

actually it's about half to two thirds of the world population, that believe in a god or gods of some kind, and I happen to agree with you, it is'nt logical.
