Getting laid costs one way or the other and if its free then it's probably not going to be just sex, and it's probably going to be a health risk.
Good clean sex is not free, because cheap sex is usually of lower quality.
It should be obvious to anyone who studied economics. If you want your son to have "good clean fun", you don't want your son having to risk his life having free sex with the crazy bitch who gives head to everybody, she might turn stalker, she might commit suicide or threaten to, she might fall in love with him, so thats not the answer. It's also very unethical to tell your son to be a liar and player and trick good virgins into having sex with him, because they probably wont even be good at it so the sex wont be very good, and he'll just end up hurting them.
The point? Prostitution is the most ethical way to show an 18 year old what good sex is all about. Making love is not the same thing, and people who say it's unethical are probably married and never had casual sex in their lives, or they are unethical liars who get free sex by tricking women and lying to them, which is actually worse than just giving them the money up front.
I'm not fond of it because I can't get past the fact that its someone's daughter. I don't think as a small child she dreamed of being a hooker. But I think it should be legal. Its not immoral, just sad.

No, I'm not "opposed" to prostitution where it's done legally. When it's illegal, it becomes dangerous in several ways (disease, abuse, pimps, etc.) and even then, I'm not opposed to it - just wouldn't encourage MY kid to bang one of them.

It's okay even if mom pays. Whether something is ethical or not has nothing to do with how it feels, it's based entirely on the consequences.
The consequences of prostitution are generally positive when compared to the consequences of being a player. Players pay for sex with words, they are like the used car salesmen or con artist of the sex industry. They bait virgins and naive types with words, and promises, and "I love yous" and it's completely unethical because the girl almost always gets hurt, cheated on, lied to and deceived.
With prostitution no deception is required. Nobody has to get hurt. It's always just sex and they agree upon that from the start. There is no falling in love, it's 100% play, and this is just fine for most 18 year olds so whats the problem? If nobody gets hurt then it's ethical even if it feels creepy.

Theres a difference between a low class hooker, and a professional escort.
Professionals actually make a lot of money and are quite successful. They can make $50-100k a year, without a college degree, just on good looks and street smarts. You wont find them patrolling street corners, it's word of mouth and it's internet marketing. It's not overt prostitution, nobody is supposed to know that the married Senator is paying her $500 an hour.

Yes and neither are unethical or morally wrong. I'm saying that the professionals do it in a very safe, covert manner. They do it the way it should be done. The street hookers do it in a dumb uneducated sorta way, and you cannot pin the whole profession on the street prostitute anymore than you can claim all drug dealers stand around on street corners wearing baggy jeans.
May I ask how old you are? Maybe you don't understand the way young women are these days. Sexually, many of them act similar to men except a female "player" doesn't talk about it as much, and is harder to spot. So I'd be more concerned about my (future) son getting his heart broken by a woman! It seems to be more common these days. Men have emotions, too... sometimes VERY complicated ones.
As for what I would tell him: Be honest about your intentions, wear a condom, and "no" always means "no".

I'm 27, and I know there are female players who are just as unethical as the males. But since this topic was about males going to prostitutes, I focused on the male player. Female players aren't hard for me to spot, their behavior reveals all.
It's possible that your son will get his heart broken by a woman, in fact it's highly probable and maybe even unavoidable. The problem with players is that the only reason the "profession" exists at all is because prostitution is illegal. If sex weren't so expensive, people wouldn't need to rely on deception to get it. To me it's pathetic when a person has to give up all integrity just to get laid, but thats just me.

who the hell cares if your kid gets their heart broken??? Its part of life's experience. I'd rather have that happen than have to pay for my kid to get laid (another of life's experiences)
