Hmmm

What about some teachers? Can they be intellectuals? Why can't a house cleaner be an intellectual? Im not sure if i read your post right monkey, but if I didnt please tell me.
 
According to the dictionary the definition of intellectual is as follows:

1 a : of or relating to the intellect or its use b : developed or chiefly guided by the intellect rather than by emotion or experience : RATIONAL c : requiring use of the intellect
2 a : given to study, reflection, and speculation b : engaged in activity requiring the creative use of the intellect


1 a : the power of knowing as distinguished from the power to feel and to will : the capacity for knowledge b : the capacity for rational or intelligent thought especially when highly developed.

With that in mind then anyone could be an intellectual but few become them.

I know cosmic, but according to Spurious Monkey intellectuals are irrational, and I got confused on his earlier post, I agree with you cosmic but I also want to know Spurious's view.
 
Everyone's an intellectual at something or another, just as everyone's ignorant at something or another.

We all have our talents, but we all need help from other elsewhere and that's how the world turns. Exchanging ideas and helping each other out.
 
"Don't read this" means "read this". "Read this", means "don't read this". Man, welcome to 21st century Earth.

Hitler probably thought himself as an intellectual.

If this is the end of my "unoriginal" and "stupid" thread then I thank you all for participating. I will never forget this thread because it is my first thread posted. Anywho my next thread will be good, I have it planned out already. You guys are all great sports for actually responding to this thead. Thanks!
