Consider that each is maximizing their personal profit function (each of which is of course wholly customized to their tastes (and by profit mean "benefit").

What is the cost of clicking in here?

Just about zilch.

What is the potential benefit?

Technically limitless.

What do you expect one to do?

Yeah. Pretty simple.
 
What's amazing is not how many people clicked.....
It's that there's still a human being alive that thinks this little 'experiment' is original. We've all seen this a hundred times.

Could it be possible that intalian intellectual has a young inquistive mind, and was only trying to answer an intriguing question?

Hmm....nah....

But if he was, wouldn't this be an experiment showing how quick to judge many are? As well as corrborating that many people at discussion forums love to belittle others, and find anything and everything they can to do so, despite how how inane and negligible it might be?

ive gotten so sick of hese "dont look, dont read, nevermind ETC." posts that ive just stopped.. but then i saw that it had 23 replies and for soe reason that made me think that there were relevent postings here so i came in.

I just clicked here because i was 99.9% sure that you were going to say this and talk about why people click this topic.. blah, blah
And realizing that i was right made me happy. I am a happy person for a short time now :)
 
Thanks for pointing out my name is wrong. Now I feel insignificant. And yes I would have to agree with Chris, I wasnt try to be original, I am young, 15, it was just a little experiement, that I thank you all for participating. I just cant get over that I spelled Intellectaul wrong, every time I sign I have to sign in with a feeling of stupidity, at least I got italian right, cmon Im 15

That we dislike being told what to do without a clear reason behind it.

But "humans" aren't all identical, as you know, so people have probably read this for different reasons. I'm one of those people who, upon encountering a button labelled "End of World," would become curious and push it.
 
So I can't spell, at least Im not trying to find love on some "stupid" thread. I may be 15, but don't question my capabilities, I'm intelligent and I'm becoming intellectual, maybe when I am able to spell it right I'll be able to self proclaim that I am an intellectual.
